Just as energy, a soul is a spiritual form of energy that is neither created nor destroyed but can reincarnate from one physical form to another.
The body is a physical life form, while the soul is a spiritual form of energy. The body utilizes soul energy to remain as a physical life form and relies on food energy to sustain itself.
Life force is the force of attraction around a body; it binds the soul, a spiritual form of energy, together with the body, a physical life form. Life force is also known as **KI**, and some people utilize it to perform superhuman feats.
Normally, the soul as a form of energy cannot be used, but what happens when this particular energy is cursed?
It becomes usable, allowing a person to perform extraordinary abilities and devastating techniques. However, there are consequences and conditions. Those with cursed souls are called **werewolves** and **vampires**. They are the curse users: lycanthropic curse users as werewolves and vampiric curse users as vampires.
The Lycanthropic Hierarchy
There are ranks among lycanthropic curse users because their curse is animalistic in nature. A sect-like group of lycanthropic curse users is called a pack. The ranks within a pack are as follows:
- **Fenrir**: The primordial.
- **Alpha**: Pack leader.
- **Delta**
- **Beta**
- **Gamma**
A lycanthropic curse user that doesn't belong to a pack is called an **Omega**; they are the least powerful because their power wanes due to the lack of leadership.
A lycanthropic curse user who is a Delta or above rank possesses devastating techniques, while a vampiric curse user who is thousands of years old has even more abilities.
Increase of Rank
In the lycanthropic hierarchy, a curse user can claim the rank of another above them if they manage to defeat them. This is rare due to the significant difference in their levels of abilities.
The Embodiment of Curse
The ultimate technique for lycanthropic curse users ranked Delta or above is the **Embodiment of Curse**. This technique is a type of barrier technique that creates a **Zone Extension**, a barrier of space where the curse user traps their prey to unleash the full power of their technique. This space can take any form and is also known as:
**Curse Zone**. The only way to escape is to defeat the owner of the Curse Zone or to activate one's own Curse Zone, which can overwrite the owner's if it is more powerful.
**Note:** This ultimate technique: embodiment of curse, is very rare; even most Alphas and Deltas don't possess it.
*The Fenrir is the most overpowered in the rank, and even an Alpha cannot defeat them in a thousand years.
The Hunters
The Hunters are people trained to keep curse users in check. They utilize KI, the life force, to perform superhuman abilities, although not on par with curse users who use their soul energy.
The Hunters compensate for their limited human abilities with guns. Silver bullets are the only objects that can kill curse users, although the effectiveness depends on the rank in the case of lycanthropic curse users and age in the case of vampiric curse users. The higher the rank and age of a curse user, the more overpowered their abilities.
There are four great clans of the Hunters:
- **The Moon Blade Clan**
- **The Moon Fang Clan**
- **The Silver Leaf Clan**
- **The Silver Fang Clan**
Each clan has its own responsibilities.
The Dual Curse Mystery
When a soul is cursed, the soul energy is used to potentially activate the curse. If the soul energy isn't enough for the potential activation, the person dies, and their soul will be reincarnated. If the soul energy is enough, the curse activates, although the person must reach puberty before activation, and there are conditions and consequences.
**Conditions and Consequences:**
- **Lycanthropic Curse:** Activates only during a full moon. The person loses control and goes feral for a while every full moon, during and after the activation.
- **Vampiric Curse:** Has no activation condition but comes with deadly consequences. The curse user cannot stay in daylight, as sunlight will burn them to a crisp. They need to feed on blood at least once a week, or they go feral.
However, when a person with an activated cursed soul dies, they won't be able to reincarnate, although they can live for thousands of years.
A person's soul can only be cursed once: through the bite of a lycanthropic curse user or through a blood transfusion with a vampiric curse user. A lycanthropic curse user's bite will kill a vampiric curse user, and a blood transfusion between a vampiric curse user and a lycanthropic curse user will end up neutralizing each other's curse.
But what happens when a person's soul is cursed twice?
