Chapter 59 - Chronicle 59 ~ Beast Tide (2)

The battle against the horde of wild beasts was a grueling and relentless test of endurance, strategy, and strength. Vin and the gathered disciples stood firm, their determination and unity forged in the face of overwhelming odds.

From the Periphery Layer, these were the kind of beats that appeared in front of them:

First off were the Gnarls: They were small, wolf-like creatures with razor-sharp claws, and they liked to move in packs.

Then came the Snarlers: Large, boar-like beasts with poisonous tusks. They were like the tankers of the horde, bearing the brunt of the attacks.

The aeriel beasts consisted of the Scorchwings: Bat-like creatures that emitted scorching flames from their wings.

There were also the perfect assassins Razorstalkers_: Tall, humanoid figures with razor-sharp limbs, they were very Gaston their feets and could hunt perfectly in the dark.

But they were still no match for the terrifying Darkhounds: Massive, shadowy canines with glowing red eyes and unmatched speed.

Initially, these beasts emerged from the Darkwind Forest in a steady trickle, their numbers gradually increasing as the minutes ticked by. The disciples held their ground, employing precise and calculated attacks to take down the creatures.

Although these beasts were only the weakest of wild beasts at the periphery of the darkwind forest, and so were not at actually a problem for the deciples in a normal fight.

Their overwhelming numbers, that was increasing by the second, made them an even bigger headache.

Vin led the charge, his sword slicing through the air with deadly precision, flashing in the dim light. He began by unleashing the first skill in a faint whisper.

Nine Chronicles of Hell ~ Second Chronicle ~ Wails of the Forgotten.

He raised his arms to the sky, summoning the whispers of the Forgotten.

A dark, swirling vortex erupted around him, with faint whispers audible to all within it's area of effect. Creating a localized maelstrom of whispering voices that disoriented and confused the beasts. The creatures stumbled and faltered, their attacks becoming wild and uncoordinated.

As the "Wails of the Forgotten" reached their crescendo, Vin activated another skill in a faint whisper

"Sword Two"

His blade shimmered with a fierce, violet light. He sliced through the beasts with precision and deadliness, his sword strikes amplified by the chaotic energy of the Wails.

As the beasts began to adapt to Vin's assault, he unleashes the second move of his self created sword technique

"Seven Sins of Chaos ~ Burial Flower"

Holding the sword in a traditional grip, with the blade angled upwards, evoking the image of a flower stem reaching towards the sky. He slowly twisted his wrist, as if coaxing a flower to bloom, and then swiftly plunging the blade downwards, like a petal dropping from its stem.

Burial Flower was a skill that embodied the cyclical nature of life and death, like the blooming and withering of flowers. When released, the sword's movement took on the theme of a flower burial, where the petals were laid to rest in the earth. The blade seemed to dig into the ground, as if planting a seed, and then bursts forth with a flurry of razor-sharp petals, like a flower blooming in reverse.

The sword's blade shimmered with a soft, moonlit glow, like the gentle light of a graveyard at night. As the skill was released, the air around Vin erupted with a whirlwind of glowing, ethereal violet colored petals that swirled and eddied, creating a mesmerizing display.

"Burial Flower" dealt significant damage, with a chance to apply a debilitating effect, like the weight of the earth bearing down upon the opponent. The skill also created a brief window of invincibility, as Vin was surrounded by a protective aura of swirling petals, like a flower shielding its delicate center.

Plunging his sword into the ground and unleashing a whirlwind of razor-sharp petals. The petals tore through the beasts, dealing massive damage and further disrupting their coordination.

The combination of Vin's skills proved devastating, as the beasts were unable to withstand the relentless assault. The Wails of the Forgotten continued to disorient and confuse them, while Sword Two and Burial Flower dealt massive damage. Vin's strategy was a perfect blend of chaos and precision, making him a formidable force on the battlefield.

As the fight raged on, Vin continued to weave in and out of the fray, his skills working in harmony to decimate the horde. The beasts began to falter, their numbers dwindling under Vin's relentless assault.

As the fight wore on, the beast horde surged forward in waves, each more ferocious than the last, almost like they weren't even afraid of death. The disciples adapted, shifting their tactics to counter the evolving threat.

The other factions and deciples wove intricate skills, creating barriers to funnel the beasts into kill zones, while the Exodus Imperium's warriors formed tight phalanxes, shields locked and swords at the ready.

The first stage of the battle raged on for hours, the disciples holding their ground against the unrelenting tide of beasts. As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the carnage, the horde's intensity increased. Larger, more fearsome creatures emerged from the forest's depths, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy.

Vin and his allies dug deep, drawing upon reserves of strength and cunning to counter the escalating threat. These beasts were naturally the Spirit Sea Realm beasts that occupied the outer layer of the darkwind forest.

These Outer Layer beasts naturally involved beasts like:

Fangwraiths: Ghostly, serpent-like creatures with venomous fangs, scary shiny yellow eyes that seemed to terrify their enemies.

There were also the Shadowstitches: Amorphous, darkness-manipulating entities, that looked like rodents.

The aeriel dominators and rulers of the sky, the Windreapers: Harpy-like creatures with razor-sharp talons and devastating beaks that could cause a lot of damage.

The Emberhorns: Rhino-like beasts with flaming horns. They acted as the tankers as their defense was almost unmatched in the outer layer.

And then came the battlefield controllers, the Goremaws_: Massive, spider-like creatures with corrosive venom, that could melt even steel.

But the fact that these new addition of beasts were all in the Spirit Sea Realm almost made the deciples despair. They were just glad that these beasts were only in the early and middle stages.

As night descended, the battle entered its second stage. The beast horde's numbers swelled, their ferocity and strength amplified by the darkness. The disciples fought on, their movements choreographed by desperation and determination. Vin's sword flashed in the moonlight, striking true time and again, while the Exodus Imperium's warriors stood firm, a bulwark against the beast tide.

Hours passed, the fight ebbing and flowing like a tide of death. The disciples began to tire, their movements slowing as the beast horde's relentless pressure took its toll. Yet, they refused to yield, drawing strength from their unity and the knowledge that their sacrifice would save countless lives.

As the first light of dawn crept over the horizon, the battle entered its final stage. The beast horde's largest, most terrifying creatures emerged from the forest, their eyes blazing with malevolent intent. Vin and his allies stood firm, their weapons trembling with fatigue, their hearts burning with determination almost despair.

These new additions included the Dreadnoughts: Towering, humanoid figures with impenetrable hide, and unmatched defence.

The Maneaters_: Amorphous, darkness-manipulating entities that liked to consume humans, expecially.

The Infernoxes_: Massive, lion-like creatures with flames that could burn souls at their fullest potential.

The Darkspawns: Twisted, humanoid figures with amazing speed and sharp claws.

The the Apex Abominations: Elusive, ever-changing creatures with illusive powers.

But what made them truly despair was that, these beasts were all on the late stages of the Spirit Sea Realm.

And one of the things to notice about beasts was that, they were stronger than the average cultivator at the the same level, and stage.

In a last, desperate bid to turn the tide, Vin rallied his companions, leading a frenzied charge against the beast horde's leadership. The battle raged on, the outcome hanging in the balance, as the disciples fought with every last ounce of strength to emerge victorious.

But it seemed fate had other plans, as it was then they started accumulating more and more casualties, as time passed on.

These deciples were only at the sixth stage at most, with only about one or two of them being at the seventh.

Luckily they had sent a message to the sect requesting backup, but it would still take more than a day for the higer ranked deciples to get here.

And frankly, they weren't sure if they could last that longer anymore.

Within a few hours of the high rankings beasts' appearance, more ten percent of the deciples had fallen.

Vin, seeing all these, dashed out and ran directly into the the entire horde of beasts.

The rest of the desiples, especially the Exodus Imperium all exclaimed at his reckless actions, they were about to berate him when they saw him raised his right hand to the sky.

And then they heard a low mutter, that sounded more like a declaration, or a command.

"Celestial Authority ~ Dio Graze" የሰማያዊ ሥልጣን ~ ዲዮ ግራዝ.
