Asher had been called to a meeting with the elders as they had heard of his exploits and they were about to talk to him concerning what he was doing going after Skylar. They were mad that he would do that as much as they were shocked she was alive.
He entered the council chamber, his steps echoing off the stone floor. The elders were seated in a semi-circle, their stern gazes fixed on him. He felt the weight of their judgment and disapproval, but he squared his shoulders, determined to face them head-on.
The elder seated in the middle, Elder Aldric, began, his voice heavy with authority. "Alpha Asher, we've summoned you here to discuss a matter of grave importance. We've heard of your… recent pursuits. Your intentions toward Skylar have caused concern among us."
