Both Sarah and the assistant turned toward the voice. A man, tall and broad-shouldered with an air of authority, stepped out from a shadowed corner of the shop. His intense gaze was fixed on the assistant, who visibly flinched under his stare.
"Apologies, Mr. Lucian," the assistant stammered, clearly rattled.
Lucian's eyes didn't leave her. "This is not how we treat guests, especially those under our alpha's protection." His voice was quiet but held an undeniable edge. The assistant shrank back, her cheeks reddening.
"I… I'm sorry," she muttered, avoiding Sarah's gaze before retreating behind the counter.
Lucian turned his attention to Sarah, his expression softening just a touch. "I apologize for her behavior. I assure you, it's not representative of our entire pack." He inclined his head. "You're Asher's Luna. I've heard of you."
