Two days. Two days had passed since the incident at the office. Daniel hadn't contacted her since then. Anastasia had been staring at her phone screen. No news from him. Even the rumours about him and Delilah in the media had gone silent.
The statement Diya mentioned never came. Anastasia thought Daniel would release it the day after the incident, but nothing. No statement at all.
"Anna…" A knock came at the door. Her mother's face appeared behind it. "Would you like to have lunch together?" Marleen's expression was filled with concern. Anastasia had mostly locked herself in her room, only leaving to get drinks or light snacks since she had no real appetite.
Anastasia turned to look at her mother, who was now stepping inside. "I'll sit with you while you eat. I'm sorry, but Mom… I really don't feel like eating."
"Is it because of the company?" Marleen asked, sitting on the edge of the bed and watching her daughter, who was seated at her desk.
