"No, he didn't." Leo's response was firm, shutting down any hope Anastasia had clung to.
The table fell silent again. Diya sat quietly on the side, fidgeting with her hands but not daring to interrupt, sensing the tension in the air. Anastasia's eyes lowered, clearly searching for the right words but finding none.
The sound of the chair being pushed as Leo suddenly stood up broke the silence. "If there's nothing more, I'd like to excuse myself." His expression remained neutral.
