'Right now, the memories of this body don't bother me, I just want to know how to use his system I have, but it seems I have no choice here,' Riven thought.
The same thing as before played out, and Riven found himself in a room staring at... himself?
'Now this is getting confusing, but I think that should be the case too. It would explain why the others weren't worried that the Riven they knew changed appearance.
Looking closely, Riven noticed although this one looked exactly like him, he looked younger, and Riven realized that if this was the owner of the body, then he was definitely younger than he was.
"This means I'm in a younger body, the info I'm getting now is he's just 16. I was 25 but he's still an exact replica of me. How's this possible?"
"What does that even matter, I can use this 9 years of experience as a leverage. No one would be able to expect a 16 year old boy have the mentality of someone 25 year old."
As Riven observed his younger self, he noticed the kindness in his eyes and the gentle smile on his face. He saw how his younger self interacted with others, always willing to lend a helping hand and offer a listening ear. Riven realized that his younger self was a genuinely nice person, loved by everyone around him.
"Why does it feel like our characters are polar opposites? I actually thought he'd have the same mindset as mine, regard all humans as nothing but tools. What does this mean?"
The memories showed Riven's younger self helping people out, playing with the children in the neighborhood, and even standing up for a bullied kid in school. Riven was surprised to see how selfless and compassionate his younger self was, and it made him feel a pang of guilt for not being as kind in his own life.
In this world, it seemed they had dungeons where people went in to kill monsters to make a living.
Such types of dungeons were far from a remote village like Riven's, so they lived a normal life, the villagers practicing their magic whenever they wished.
Another scene showed where're previous Riven was playing with his neighborhood friends, then the whole sky turned dark like an eclipse had taken place, and a red circle materialized.
"What's going on?"
"I.. is that a dungeon? Why would it suddenly appear here, we don't have well trained enough mages to deal with it before a dungeon break occurs."
Out of the portal then came monsters, hordes upon hordes of them. The entire village was in a panic, and all mages who could fight were frantically attacking the monsters.
Riven's parents both appeared where he was, as he wasn't that far from home.
"I don't think I've ever heard of a dungeon break occurring as soon as the dungeon appeared," Riven's mother, Maya, stayed.
"We need to get away from here quickly. Riven, come on let's go," said Derek, Riven's father.
The monsters attached all in sight, and Riven watched as his entire village was torn apart by them.
His Parents who were both strong mages tried getting him out of the village, but in the process they were attacked.
Riven, the current Riven saw what attacked them clearly, and it surprisingly wasn't a monster, it was a humanoid creature, one that had unimaginable speed.
Riven's parents had tried their best to fight the creature, but they already knew they were fighting a losing battle.
"This is no monster, I've never heard of a humanoid monster before, we can't win this."
"Riven, run now, we'll hold it off long enough for you to escape, go into the woods, it'll be harder for the monsters to locate you there."
"Try your best to defeat whatever comes your way, and use all fire techniques we taught you. Make sure you survive, Riven."
Riven wanted to disobey, he wanted to stay, but he didn't even realize when he started running away toward the woods.
On the way he was attacked by another monster, and he managed to kill it, but in the end he had received many injuries and ended up at the other side of the woods.
There, he lost consciousness, and when he woke up he was with the group they the current Riven was traveling with.
They had created a base when they found the monsters had all gathered in groups, seemingly under command.
From time to time, their camps were attacked by monster hordes which prompted the group leader, Greg, to pick out a number of mages that would go out to pick another location for a new camp.
They cleared a path to the new location, which the entire group were currently headed, and devised a plan to help them get there safely, getting the beasts off their trail.
The next scene showed how Riven was responsible for the beasts knowing their location, as it was soon realized that the beast were being controlled by certain unknown entities. Current Riven suspected the being he saw that attacked Riven's parents.
It turned out Riven had sneaked out of camp to kill a monster, thereby incurring the wrath of several other monsters he couldn't get rid of himself.
He had to escape back to camp, and the beasts followed him, though they were quickly gotten rid of by the camp guards.
Not long after, hordes of beasts had swarmed their camp, thereby forcing them to move to another camp.
"So then, what gain is there in having a good heart, after all he even lost his parents, there was nothing he gained from it, Riven muttered.
"But at the same time, what then does having my kind of heart do... I was still betrayed in the end."
The void then returned, and Riven realized that this was showed to him this way on purpose, it was meant to allow him see the differences between the both Riven's.
"Oh no, that can't work on me. My mindset still remains the same. Humans would still be what they'll be, tools, backbiters."
'Just like those I'm traveling with now. They've even decided to kick me out of the group. I wonder what they're doing with my body now, when will this end..?'
'I think I've received info about this new world at the same time then.. so what next?
