Chapter 3 - The mysterious map

When Manho thought about the map in his hand, he got excited because it was his ticket to success in this world. The map wasn't actually a map—it was just a piece of paper. No one knew exactly what it was, but everyone knew it was precious because it could help a player find the most suitable legacy weapon in all of New Haven. Legacy weapons are special weapons that can allow a player to change their class and obtain a class from the ancient past. These legacy weapons are divided into six known categories: Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Epic, Mythical, and Legendary.

The one who obtained this treasure map in Manho's last life got an Epic legacy weapon that changed his class from Summoner to Necromancer, making him one of the top 10 players in the game.

When Manho was walking to an inn in the town square, he got in and booked a room for 50 copper, which was expensive at this stage of the game. He got to his room and said in a soft voice, "Let's hope that the player from my previous life was telling the truth about how to use this treasure map."

Suddenly, Manho took the map out of his special bag and looked at it, hoping he could understand something, but he couldn't. In fact, he felt a sharp pain in his head. Manho suddenly thought, "That's impossible. How can a mere piece of paper affect my mental state?" In New Haven, when a weapon is above Epic grade, it can tire the wearer. This is a way to prevent weak players from using powerful equipment in the game.

Suddenly, Manho tore the map. When he did, space froze in front of him, and he couldn't hear any sound. The place in the air where he tore the paper had formed a spatial rift about 50 cm wide. There was no system notification, nothing—just the space rift. Manho looked at it with fear and interest, his hands shaking as if the fear was coming from his soul. Suddenly, Manho snapped out of that state and said, "Fuck it. This is my chance. I don't care if I die here or if my soul gets erased... The only thing I need to do is put my hand in the space rift, and I'll get a legacy weapon."

He put his hand in the rift, and suddenly he felt the worst pain of his life, like his hand was being severed over and over again. Suddenly, Manho blacked out. When he woke up, he found himself on the floor, and the rift had disappeared as if nothing had happened. The only thing that had changed was that he was now holding a simple black dagger. He started trembling. "It actually worked. I got a legacy weapon."

When Manho tried to inspect it, he almost blacked out again because the stats were incredible.

When Manho saw the stats, he started dancing with joy, but when he saw the **Curse of the Exterminator**, his heart skipped a beat because the Juggernauts are actually the strongest entities in the game. "How the fuck do I have -5000 reputation? Isn't the lowest you can go with someone -1000, even after you killed their entire family? What the fuck did the creator of this weapon do to piss off every Juggernaut in the game?"

This was going to be a huge headache for Manho in the future. The Juggernauts can't randomly appear in the realm of mortals, but in the later stages of the game, they will. Every church that believes in any Juggernaut is going to come after him for this. But it was worth it just for the skills and stats he got. It was all worth it. The good part is that it gets stronger every time he gets stronger. The bad part, apart from the Juggernauts problem, is figuring out how to repair it.

Manho thought, "What is even ???? Is? I feel like I know the answer, but I can't remember. Is this from my 5 lost years of game memory?" When Manho thought more about it, he concluded that this was most likely the answer. Now that he had the weapon, it was time to think about the Void Thief. "This class never showed up in my last life. And what is this 'Beyond' rarity? Is this above Legendary?"

In the game of New Haven, after someone gets to level 20, they can try the Tier 1 test. Someone who wins the test and becomes a Tier 1 player can beat any Tier 0 player, even if their level was 50 levels higher. For Manho to get the Void Thief legacy, he needs to pass the Tier 1 test, but he was still a ways off, so he needed to think about how to level up in the game. There were 6 known tiers for the Thief class:

- **Basic Thief**

- **Advanced Thief**

- **Master Thief**

- **Assassin Lord**

- **Assassin King**

- **Assassin Emperor**

The strongest thieves in Manho's last life were Assassin Emperors who could rival the Juggernauts. In his last life, Manho was only an Assassin Lord, but he secured a nice life for himself. However, he still got banished from his guild because of something he didn't do. When Manho thought about it, he got pissed. "I will fuck them up. All of them will pay for what they've done to me..."

Manho chose to log out so he could move his body. He was a little weak in this life, so he needed to take care of his body. When Manho looked at the time in his system, he was shocked. He had been unconscious for 24 hours, meaning he had been in the game for 12.5 real-time hours. When he logged out, it was already morning. Manho got up from the bed, did some basic stretching, and went to the kitchen. He found a note from his brother and some money. He smiled and read the note: "Don't play yourself to death in that game..."

When Manho read it, he smiled. The fact that his younger brother was taking care of him warmed his heart. Manho ate some meat his brother got last night and continued his training. When he looked at his body, it was too weak, but he smiled and continued because the game would take care of his body. The only thing he needed to take care of was his mental power. Manho's mental power was already strong; he only needed a strong body, and he could fight any professional martial artist.

Because New Haven took the world by storm, people who were good at martial arts showed up more and more in the game. They were forgotten by everyone, but the game brought them back out. People didn't know about the game yet—only the billionaires knew about it because of the closed beta test. It wouldn't take much time for everyone to know the worth of the game. That's why Manho needed to hurry with his plans for the game. When he finished his training, cleaned himself up, and went to the bed, he logged back into the game.
