Chapter 41.
Liona's POV.
"Stay close," I warned, stepping inside. The air grew colder as we moved deeper into the fortress, and the darkness seemed to swallow us whole. I could feel the weight of ancient magic pressing down on us, thick and suffocating.
After what felt like an eternity, we emerged into a vast chamber, illuminated by flickering torches. At the center of the room stood a tall figure draped in black, her eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. She was beautiful in a cold, terrifying way, her presence commanding respect—and fear.
"Welcome," she said, her voice echoing through the chamber like a haunting melody. "I am Seraphina, elder of the vampire coven. What brings you to our domain?"
Alyssa stepped forward, her voice steady despite the fear I knew she felt. "We seek your help. The dark lord has returned, and we need to strengthen the seal on his prison before it's too late."
