Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: The Seven Family Rules

In the conference room, almost all the leaders of Brooklyn's various forces had arrived. The large, long, solid wood conference table was filled with people on both sides, but the room was unusually quiet. The air seemed to be stagnant, and no one spoke, creating a very oppressive atmosphere.

Frank and Anderson exchanged glances, each finding a seat and sitting down. They looked at the empty chair at the head of the table, their pupils shrinking, and they too fell silent.

The clock in the hallway struck seven times, waking Frank and Anderson from their thoughts. It was seven o'clock, the appointed time.

Frank looked around at the leaders in the conference room. After they arrived, a few more people came in one after another. Frank carefully observed and found that all the leaders of Brooklyn's forces were present, without exception. The deterrent power of wiping out two families in one night was indeed strong.

Steady footsteps sounded in the hallway outside the conference room. They were here! Everyone present couldn't help but feel a shock in their hearts and turned their heads to look at the conference room door.

Soon, the two heavy wooden doors were pushed open, and a tall Chinese youth in a black suit strode in. He exuded a strong aura of killing intent, as if he had walked out of a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood. His cold face revealed an endless murderous aura.

With his appearance, a powerful and icy presence instantly enveloped the entire room. Everyone felt their breath catch, and under the pressure of this powerful aura, even breathing became difficult.

The leaders couldn't help but feel a deep fear. This was indeed the fierce man who had wiped out two families in one night. The aura of authority and ferocity he carried was terrifying.

Chen Mo walked coldly to the chair at the head of the conference table and slowly sat down. Old Albert, who followed him, stood by his side with his hands down. Dressed in a gray suit, he was elegant and gentlemanly, with neatly combed white hair and a calm, composed gaze.

It was only then that everyone noticed Albert's presence. Their minds had been so captivated by Chen Mo's aura that they hadn't noticed Albert following him.

Chen Mo sat proudly at the head of the table, his sharp eyes like knives sweeping over the people in front of him.

The people present felt a chill run through their bodies as Chen Mo's sharp gaze swept over them. It was as if their hearts were being tightly squeezed, and they couldn't help but lower their heads, avoiding Chen Mo's eyes.

The people sitting at the conference table were the leaders of various mafia forces in Brooklyn. Despite their gentlemanly appearance in suits, each of them had fought their way up with knives and guns, stepping over corpses. Their hands were stained with blood.

However, compared to the intense and violent aura of Chen Mo, their own presence was insignificant.

As Chen Mo's gaze swept across the room, no one dared to meet his eyes. Satisfied, Chen Mo withdrew his gaze and spoke in a cold, slow voice.

"Everyone is here. It seems no one has broken the appointment."

As Chen Mo's voice rang out, everyone perked up and listened carefully. They were eager to know why Chen Mo had called them here, and now the mystery was finally about to be revealed.

"Good, that saves me some trouble." Chen Mo's cold and indifferent words were filled with killing intent to those who heard them.

This killer star indeed planned to deal with those who didn't come. Those who had hesitated about coming couldn't help but feel relieved, realizing they had almost brought disaster upon themselves.

"I won't say much about last night's events. The era of the two families ruling Brooklyn is over. From now on, the underground forces of Brooklyn will be controlled by the martial arts school." As Chen Mo said this, he looked at the dozen or so leaders sitting on both sides of the conference table.

In the world of underground forces, the strong have always been respected. Previously, the two families were the strongest, so everyone depended on them and was ruled by them.

Now that the two families had been eliminated, a new ruler was bound to emerge. Most people were mentally prepared for this and didn't react much. They were aware of their own strength and knew they didn't have the power to lead all of Brooklyn's underground forces.

However, two people quietly raised their heads, their eyes meeting with a subtle and obscure meaning, then quickly looked down as if nothing had happened.

Chen Mo noticed this and sneered inwardly.

"Does anyone have any objections?"

Facing Chen Mo's calm inquiry, the group of mafia leaders shook their heads in unison, afraid that a slow response would be remembered by Chen Mo and lead to retribution later.

Including the two who had strange thoughts just now, they also echoed with the others.

"Very well, now Albert will explain the new rules to you," Chen Mo said, leaning back in his chair and handing the floor to the old butler.

The mafia leaders below all turned their eyes to the old man who had been standing calmly by the side since he entered, their gazes full of scrutiny.

Standing beside Chen Mo, Old Albert stepped forward and calmly scanned the room. In his low and steady voice, he slowly said:

"Since you are willing to accept the leadership of the martial arts school, everything must be done according to the new rules."

"Many things from the era of the two families need to be changed. Let's start with the organization's commandments."

"Previously, the mafia had seven commandments, but they were often ignored and not strictly enforced. Now, we have made some modifications to them."

Saying this, Old Albert took out a piece of paper from his left pocket, gently unfolded it, and then slowly took out a pair of square tortoiseshell glasses from his suit pocket and put them on. He then held the paper up to his eyes and began to read.

"The Seven Family Commandments."

"First: Keep a tight lip, and maintain absolute secrecy."

"Second: The organization's interests are above personal interests, and the big picture must be prioritized."

"Third: Complete obedience to orders, and commands from superiors must be followed unconditionally, without defiance."

"Fourth: Absolute loyalty, no betrayal or surrender."

"Fifth: Strict confidentiality, and no secrets of the organization can be told to family members."

"Sixth: No unauthorized actions, no kidnappings or other criminal activities without the organization's consent, and no indiscriminate killing of innocents."

"Seventh: Brotherhood above all, no internal strife, and no betrayal within the group."

Albert paused here, looking at the various expressions of the mafia leaders below, and continued.

"Everyone must strictly adhere to the above seven family commandments. The previous state of disorder and recklessness, treating the commandments as nothing, ends today. Anyone who violates the family commandments will be severely punished."

"For serious offenses, the punishment is death!"
