Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Chinese Martial Arts School in Brooklyn

During this period, Chen Mo used the base's equipment to test his various abilities. After the potential explosion during the last plane crash, Chen Mo's physical fitness improved again, approaching the limits of human capability.

His strength reached 500 kilograms, his speed was 9.1 seconds per 100 meters, and he could maintain this speed for a long time. His short-term burst speed could reach 19 meters per second. Without a running start, he could jump three meters high and six meters far. His bone strength and recovery speed were four times that of an average person.

In terms of reaction speed, Chen Mo could even see the trajectory of bullets. Although his body couldn't completely dodge bullets, he could avoid vital areas.

Although Chen Mo's abilities did not exceed human limits, reaching the peak in all aspects resulted in astonishing overall strength. With both great power and rapid speed, Chen Mo's explosive force far exceeded imagination. His super-strong bones and body ensured that he could exert his full strength without worrying about his body being unable to withstand it.

With his current strength, Chen Mo was only slightly weaker than Captain America after the serum enhancement. In theory, he should be able to survive a typical plane crash. In the movie, Captain America survived after crashing into the Arctic glacier.

However, Chen Mo was still not satisfied. The movie crash involved a controlled landing on snow, with the plane largely intact. Chen Mo's situation was far more dangerous, with the plane being torn apart by seawater, completely disintegrating, and tumbling at high speed in the sea. Chen Mo needed even greater strength to ensure his survival in such harsh conditions.

Therefore, the super-soldier serum was what Chen Mo needed most now.

According to the original storyline, Hydra's agent in the U.S. high command was intercepted by the newly enhanced Captain America while escaping with the serum. The mission failed, and they couldn't bring back the serum. After killing Dr. Abraham Erskine, the inventor of the serum, it could no longer be produced, making Captain America the only super-soldier.

After a period of organizational adjustments and personnel transfers, Chen Mo had basically taken control of Hydra. All construction and research were on track.

To obtain the crucial super-soldier serum and for his longer-term plans, Chen Mo decided to take action personally.

However, this departure would not be short. To prevent any accidents at Hydra, Chen Mo spent several months strengthening his control over the organization. Many unruly individuals were secretly dealt with, and those with unstable positions were sent to various bases in Europe that were to be abandoned. Of course, only Chen Mo knew that these bases across Europe would be abandoned.

Those remaining in Norway were loyal to the "Red Skull", who had witnessed Chen Mo's superhuman abilities during his tests, looked at him with even more fervor. Sometimes, Chen Mo felt an absurd sense of being a god.

After Chen Mo's thorough cleansing and reorganization, Hydra was completely under his control, and its entire power was at his disposal.

During this time, Chen Mo did not remain idle. The Hydra base had a variety of weapons and firearms, and Chen Mo used his free time to practice shooting. He trained with pistols, assault rifles, and sniper rifles. With his learning ability, perception, and control, Chen Mo's progress in marksmanship was swift.

After a period of practice, he mastered all of them, and his shooting skills were on par with the best marksmen in the military.

Chen Mo focused on practicing with pistols, which were more flexible and practical in close-range, complex combat situations, and his favorite stealth attacks. With his spatial ability, changing magazines was instantaneous, providing nearly unlimited firepower.

The M1911 pistol obtained from the New York gangsters suited Chen Mo well. It was powerful and reliable, and with Chen Mo's marksmanship, he could accurately hit moving targets within a 50-meter effective range.

As a result, Chen Mo's space was filled with a variety of firearms and ammunition, in addition to throwing knives.

Chen Mo did not neglect his throwing knives either. For silent assassinations, throwing knives were more useful than pistols. Moreover, not just throwing knives, but also forks, chopsticks, pens, coins, and even tree branches could become deadly weapons in Chen Mo's hands.

With his increased strength, the original throwing knives felt too light for Chen Mo. After expanding his space, he no longer had to consider size constraints. He had a batch of new throwing knives made from special alloys, measuring 25 cm in length, 3 cm in width, 5 mm in thickness, and weighing 200 grams. Whether for throwing or using as a dagger, these new knives were more handy and powerful than the original ones. Satisfied with the new knives, Chen Mo had hundreds more made and stored them with the firearms in his space.

Chen Mo also had the long sword from the stone coffin investigated. After comparing and researching a large amount of historical data, the intelligence department concluded that this sword was likely the legendary sword of King Arthur, the Sword of Kings. Known for its blade that could cut through iron like mud, it was also called the Sword of Breaking Steel, symbolizing the power of heroes, representing dominance and destruction.

According to legend, King Arthur's sword in the stone broke during battle. Later, with the help of the wizard Merlin, he obtained this sword from the Lady of the Lake.

Before his death, King Arthur ordered the Knight of the Round Table, Bedivere, to throw the sword into the lake. Bedivere, unwilling to part with it, falsely claimed to have done so.

After King Arthur's third command to throw the sword, Bedivere reported again that he had thrown it into the lake, and King Arthur closed his eyes and died.

The sword's style, patterns, and characteristics all matched the descriptions in historical records. It was very likely that Bedivere did not throw it into the lake, or someone later retrieved it from the lake, and it eventually ended up in the hands of the Norwegian royal family.

Now, this legendary Sword of Kings had fallen into Chen Mo's hands. It truly lived up to its reputation as the legendary holy sword. Describing it as cutting through iron like mud was no exaggeration. With a single powerful swing, Chen Mo easily cut through a steel pillar as thick as a thigh, and the blade remained unscathed, living up to its name as the Sword of Breaking Steel.

Dr. Zola had studied its material and found that it was not any element known on Earth. It was likely forged from a meteorite that fell into the lake and was obtained by the wizard Merlin.

This meteorite material had extremely strong properties. The sword's hardness, toughness, and sharpness were all very high, far exceeding any current alloys. Chen Mo speculated that it might be a special metal similar to vibranium or adamantium, or even stronger.

In short, Chen Mo was very pleased with this unexpected acquisition of the Sword of Kings. It cut through iron like mud and was very handy to use. In addition to throwing knives, Chen Mo's arsenal now had another cold weapon.

September 1942

Brooklyn, New York

Early in the morning, pedestrians on the street suddenly noticed that a Chinese martial arts school had appeared in one of the buildings.

New York's Chinatown was in Manhattan, and most Chinese martial arts schools were also in Manhattan. This newly opened martial arts school in Brooklyn attracted a lot of attention, with curiosity, doubt, malice, and greed.

It was a large, standalone three-story building near the street, quite valuable. Now, the entire building had been converted into a martial arts school, indicating the owner's considerable wealth. In Brooklyn, a wealthy Chinese person was undoubtedly seen as easy prey by many.

The reason Chinese people preferred to stay in Chinatown was due to discrimination and oppression from Americans. In Brooklyn, known for its poor security, this situation was even worse, and many people were secretly eyeing the place.

At this moment, inside the martial arts school, Chen Mo was sparring with several strong men dressed in worn cloth jackets.

Their skills were clearly much better than Chen Mo's, but they were constantly being suppressed by him. The difference in strength made it impossible for them to fully utilize their skills.

As Chen Mo blocked a punch aimed at his abdomen and knocked the opponent to the ground with a punch before he could retreat, no one else in the room could stand.
