Chereads / Somehow, I Become His Mate / Chapter 10 - Dine and Dash

Chapter 10 - Dine and Dash

I shook my head hard. "No! To myself. I curse myself, yeah, haha. Haha. Haaa…."

I should have possessed this body at such a time! Even if I got into it in the last minutes of the hot action, it's more than alright! Why is it only when the good time is over that I possess her?!

Gaaaaah!

That damn b-tch played me dirty. What's left of me then?

I didn't even feel the slightest pleasure left from that hot night and only had pain lingering throughout my body. That pain is not even from that kind of steamy pain.

'That woman really did that. Dine and dash, damn it.'

I could hear a short, heavy laugh coming from him. It sounded prickly compared to most laughs.

"This is ridiculous. Why? Does the thought of sleeping with me suddenly feel disgusting to you? When you kept enjoying it until the end tho."

'But that wasn't me!' I sobbed and covered both my ears. "Please, say no more."

I bit the inside of my mouth as my eyes gradually sank, as did my heart. I could feel my stomach twisting, sending lumps of acid rising into my chest.

"It's okay, it's alright," I speak to myself softly.

Yeah, it's alright. It was natural that all of this happened because he didn't know any better last night. After all, he gets seduced because Hazel tricks him using witchcraft.

Everyone can be fooled if their opponent is determined, even if he is the Alpha Sharx.

'Let's look on the bright side.'

He managed to escape the influence of witchcraft because they did the deed. That's what matters now. Let's focus on what I have to do for his future.

"Hey,"

I raised my eyes quickly. "Ah, anyway. Thank goodness because that action made you aware. Isn't that right, Alpha?"

I lowered my hands from my ears and clasped them together in front of my chest as if I were praying. "You could think that it was a blessing, really."

I'm glad I had time to do self-talk to calm my heart. At least I still maintain a proper appearance in front of him in this mess, not acting like a mad dog because of jealousy.

I pulled a thin smile.

"Hey, you, why do I think you have funny thoughts in that little head of yours?"

"Oh my~ what do you mean by funny thoughts? Of course, nothing would be strange if I had new ideas after hearing all this. Would you like to hear it?"

Alpha Sharx and Beta Sam stole a glance at each other.

I shouted confidently. "Let's sleep together once more, Alpha Sharx!"

I drop the bomb, but there's no flame. It was silence. And the silence talks louder.

"You're nuts."

I smacked my dry lips. It's such a pity because I can't use this method to score a night with him.

"We never know. Perhaps by doing so, we can get more clues about what kind of witchcraft was used on us. Isn't that a brilliant idea, Alpha Sharx?"

Does my gaze show too much of my desire?

Wild animal experts often say in their documentary videos that when dealing with beasts, don't take your eyes off the beast's eyes. They say that's how the beast recognizes us as something that should not be underestimated. Alpha Sharx is the beast among beasts. So, I thought I'd follow that suggestion for once.

I look at him straight.

Alpha Sharx's brow twitch. "Hey, your eyes look crazy now."

"Let's sleep together!" I shouted once again. "Let's sleep together, Alpha!"

Top marketers say that repetition is one of the best ways to persuade target consumers. I ought to do the same, then.

"Stop spouting nonsense unless you want me to twist your mouth."

I folded my lips inward in a second. He's not one to tell a joke.

Of course, from the start, a beast wouldn't be so easy to persuade, especially with mere words. But, as humans often say, keep doing it, and don't give up easily!

I plan to do the same, so I open my mouth.

Before I could get a word out, he snapped.

"Zip your mouth, or I'll cancel our deal and send you on the express train to hell."

I nodded. "Okay, I won't bring that up again…"

… For today.

I don't know about tomorrow or the next day.

"For now, tell me what your plan is to lure out those you say are the mastermind in this case."

I looked into his eyes, showing my trustworthiness.

"Let me come as your partner at your inauguration ceremony as the new Minister of Finance..."

"What are you going to do there?"

"Of course, to set a trap. You can put your men to keep an eye on me while I do that. I'm sure I can get something on that day."

Yeah, I'm sure of it.

Hazel will definitely come to the event to check on her body and me.

Well, even if she decides not to attend because she's afraid of getting caught red-handed, I can make her attend the event no matter what. Then I will catch her and expose all her sins.

"I don't need to remind you that you better not plan anything else funny behind my back, right?"

"Of course."

"I'm sure you know I'm not the type to give third chances."

"I know, I know. Because for you, the aspect of pleasure has disappeared on the third occasion and only leaves stupidity on your part."

He smirked. "Interesting. Why do I think that the new you know me better?"

I looked at his pupils. The feeling sent chills throughout my body, but I loved it. I laughed a little, laughing at my pathetic side.

'Perhaps because I've loved you for a whopping ten years, Alpha Sharx.'

He stood up. "Alright then, we have our talk, so,"

"Ah, before you go, I have one request. This is related to my fishing plan."

"What is it?"

"Please send a special invitation for Maya Maureen to your inauguration event. But send the invitation to her family instead. The Maureen family."

"Let's sleep together!"

Sharx let out a thin laugh as he walked in the corridor. That scene kept replaying in his mind like an advertisement on repeat.

He rubbed around his lips, then said to Sam, who was walking beside him.

"Didn't her personality change? She's like a new person."

Sam rolled his eyes after slightly looking away.

"Yes, I can see that. I also see you're having fun. But, wouldn't letting her have a hand in this matter might create a new problem? After all, we're unsure if she is really a victim."

"Stop grumbling on our way to those old geezers."

"I'm not grumbling, Alpha. But, this matter was—"

"Stop it. Do you think that I am a man who only craves for fun?"

"Honestly, yes."

Sharx smacks his lips. "You've become more cheeky after all these years."

"That's something I naturally developed while under your command all this time."

"Anyway, she didn't say anything entirely wrong. Isn't there a chance that she is just a victim? And even if she wasn't a victim, I just had to use her as bait. As she herself offered to do so."

"What if, at those times, she actually gathered allies on her side?"

"That's why we need to watch her. We will give the image that we are liberating her when, in fact, we are slowly cornering her."

He smirked and then added. "Even a sewer rat will return home when she is cornered. When that happens, we just need to storm the house."

Sam let out an annoyed sigh. "That's exactly why it's a pain in the as—I mean, because we need to keep an eye on her."

"Hey, do your part as the Beta of this pack."

Sam took a breath, then answered reluctantly. "Yes, yes, I understand."

"Ah, right. Make sure you fulfil her request."

Sam's brows twitched.

"About that, aren't you curious why she singled out Maya Maureen? I know that Maureen girl often harassed her on many occasions, but there are several other girls who also do the same thing. Why did she only fix on that Maureen girl?"

Maya Maureen is the only daughter of a family that owns the Great Ermond Maureen Hospital. For some pathetic reason, her name crossed his ears quite often. She was one of the girls who was crazy about him, so she took the classic step of always bullying women who tried to approach him.

And yet she never confronts him head-on to profess her feelings, unlike other women who cling on to him.

You could even say that she managed her distance well despite her overflowing obsession with him—enough not to cross the line and end up earning his hatred.

'Hmm, thanks to that Maureen girl, the number of annoying women who bother me has decreased, actually. She takes care of them well.' He snorts.

"Or, perhaps, does Hazel think Maya Maureen is the mastermind behind all this?"

"It could be. They hate each other's guts, aren't they?" Sharx responded with a faint laugh.

Sam tilted his head. "But something doesn't add up."

"What is it?"
