Chereads / Primordial Vampire / Chapter 39 - Forbidden Words

Chapter 39 - Forbidden Words

Lucian stood frozen, his heart pounding against his chest as the translucent panel in front of him flashed ominously. The air in the classroom felt thicker, almost suffocating, and his eyes darted from one curious face to another. A wave of nervousness hit him, causing his hands to tremble slightly. All eyes were on him expecting, waiting, and probably already judging.

"Now how the hell am I supposed to look badass here?" Lucian cursed under his breath, biting his lower lip in frustration. The plan to make a grand first impression in front of the class was rapidly falling apart, and he wasn't ready to be known as the weird, silent kid. His gaze flicked toward Arthur, who was standing at the side with a slightly concerned expression. Arthur gave a subtle cough, as if trying to prompt Lucian to say something anything.

Lucian's mind raced. Should he say something like 'abracadabra'? He almost laughed at the absurdity of it. "I don't even know any spells, let alone lightning effects!" he thought. His desperation grew. "System," he called out in his mind, "what the hell do I do? I can't just stand here like an idiot!"

[Ding! System recommends the purchase of a powerful, speech perfect for leaving an unforgettable first impression. You can buy the 'Perfect Words' for only 3,500 points. These words guarantee to leave everyone in awe.]

A translucent panel appeared in front of Lucian again, this time showing the option to buy the suggested item. His heart skipped a beat as he read the description. Perfect? 3,500 points for a few words seemed outrageous. But then again, the alternative was even worse public humiliation.

"What is this, system?" Lucian blinked in disbelief. "Strong words for 3,500 points? Are you out of your damn mind? I bought intermediate language skills for 6,000, and you want me to spend half of that for just a few words? And why can't I see the quality tier? You know, like novice, intermediate, advanced"

[Host, this is a perfect version, which is why it's priced as such. Lowering the quality may be harmful to the host, and that is not advisable.]

"Harmful? What the hell do you mean by harmful?" Lucian was about to dig deeper, to question what possible dangers could arise from this purchase

but Arthur coughed again, louder this time, reminding Lucian that he was standing in front of a silent, expectant classroom. Lucian blinked, snapping out of his internal debate. He was standing there, looking like a fool, and he needed to do something fast.

"Screw it. Just buy it. Buy it now, system. Hurry!" he mentally commanded.

[Ding! -3,500 points deducted from shop balance.]

Suddenly, the knowledge of how to pronounce and deliver the forbidden words flooded into his mind. It was as if the words had always been there, waiting to be spoken, waiting to unleash something deep and primal. A strange sense of calm washed over him. He knew exactly what to do now, and despite the gnawing doubt in his chest, he ignored the unease.

Taking a deep breath, Lucian finally opened his mouth. "Cough... hey, guys. Name's Lucian."

There was an awkward pause as the room fell into complete silence. A few students chuckled under their breath, and some exchanged glances, likely confused by how anticlimactic that introduction was. Arthur visibly relaxed, relieved that Lucian hadn't used his surname he looked at one particular girl sitting in back desk of classroom

Silver hair. Piercing, expressionless silver eyes. The aura she radiated was suffocating, like a predator watching her prey she was giving a very refined and royal aura to her. She didn't blink; her gaze was cold, calculated. arthur eyes met hers for a split second.Their eyes briefly locked, and Arthur gave her a subtle nod before turning away, exhaling in what seemed like relief.

Lucian swallowed, feeling the growing weight of the situation. The pressure of being in front of all these powerful students, the lingering stares, the nervous chuckles it was all pushing down on him. His mind screamed at him to do something. Fast.

And so, without further hesitation, he let the forbidden words slip from his mouth.

"Luvisus," he said.

Instantly, the entire room changed. The chuckles stopped. All faces turned serious—dangerously serious. The temperature in the room seemed to drop, as if all the warmth had been sucked out. Lucian could feel the magic in the atmosphere react, swirling and bending around him like an unseen force, creating an aura of power behind him. His body tingled as the air crackled with intensity.

Arthur's face drained of all color, his eyes widening in shock. The silver-haired girl narrowed her gaze, her posture straightening ever so slightly. Lucian wasn't sure what had happened, but whatever the words had done, they had worked.

"It's working," Lucian thought, a wicked smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Let's finish this."

"Luvisus Maltora Votebtun Jygevo Xyfceo," he continued, his voice steady, commanding.

With each word, the atmosphere in the classroom grew heavier. A suffocating tension filled the air as students' faces contorted with a mix of fear and awe. Some of the weaker kids visibly trembled in their seats, eyes wide with horror. Others clenched their fists, trying to suppress the urge to flinch. Even Arthur, who usually had a calm demeanor, stood still, his body trembling slightly, lips twitching as he muttered something under his breath.

This motherfucker… Arthur's mind raced. He's playing with humanity, not just his life! Does he even understand what these words are capable of? Arthur bit his lip, fighting the instinct to stop Lucian. He wanted to intervene, but even he wasn't brave enough to risk interrupting forbidden magic.

"Luvisus Maltora Votebtun Jygevo Xyfceo Fugvwi Sojlfy Ygvwo," Lucian repeated, and as he spoke, more magic particles gathered behind him. His figure began to glow with a dark purple aura, swirling and rising around him like smoke. It made him look larger than life, majestic, and terrifying. The students could only stare, frozen in their seats, as Lucian's words seemed to reach into their very souls.

The silence was deafening, save for the occasional sound of someone gulping nervously. No one dared to move or even breathe loudly, fearing that the slightest noise might break the spell. The entire class, including the silver-haired girl, was locked in Lucian's magnetic pull, captivated and horrified by the sheer power he was exuding.

Kevin, who stood next to Arthur, swallowed hard, making eye contact with him. His eyes were sparkling with admiration no, it was more than that. Kevin looked at Lucian as if he had just found his role model. Arthur, however, shot him a death stare, silently communicating his disbelief and exasperation. This wasn't a game. Lucian was messing with powers far beyond his understanding, and Arthur had no idea how to rein him in.

Satisfied with the reactions, Lucian allowed himself a smirk. His plan had worked perhaps even better than he had anticipated. But before he could revel in his success, he heard a collective gasp from the class as he began repeating the words for the third time.

"Luvisus Maltora Votebtun Jygevo Xyfceo Fugvwi Sojlfy Ygvwo," he chanted once more.

The purple aura intensified, swirling violently behind him like a storm. The magic particles were so thick that they formed a tangible, almost physical presence in the room. The students, already on edge, were now visibly shaken, some breaking into a cold sweat. Goosebumps rose on their arms as they stared at Lucian with a mix of terror and reverence.

Lucian repeated it three or four times

Lucian, basking in the palpable tension, was about to repeat the words yet again when

"Ow!" A sudden, sharp pain shot through his skull, interrupting his thoughts. Lucian rubbed the back of his head, grimacing as he turned around to see Arthur standing there, his fist still raised from the smack.

"Kid," Arthur growled, his voice low and filled with barely-contained fury, "who told you to use forbidden words? Do you have a death wish or something? What if you'd messed up one syllable? Do you have any idea what could've happened?"

Lucian blinked, still processing the sudden hit, when the entire class erupted into cheers.

"Fucking yeahhhhhhhh! Cooollllll assss fuckkkkkk!"

The boys leaped from their seats, fists pumping in the air. The girls stared at Lucian with newfound admiration, some even blushing and giggling amongst themselves. Even Kevin, who had been silent, now looked at Lucian like he was some kind of legend, practically worshipping the ground he walked on.

Arthur, visibly annoyed, turned back to the cheering crowd with a sigh. "What the hell is wrong with these kids…?"

Lucian, still rubbing his head, was completely bewildered by the turn of events. What had just happened? Why was everyone suddenly treating him like some kind of hero?

"What the fuck is going on, system?" Lucian muttered in confusion. "Come out and explain this to me."

The system remained silent.
