I clutched the crook of his arm as we walked down the long, blank carpet that led to the closed double doors. Not a single sound I heard from the inside, thinking this wasn't really the venue and it was just some bullshit prank or some lame event.
But before I could speak on it, my soul nearly jumped out of my body when Arthur showed a tattoo I had never placed much significance to to the camera and the doors opened, loud classical music beaming through it.
I smiled as I scanned the array of people who stood in the room, hoping and praying they didn't scent my powers or scan me enough to notice I wasn't at all one of them.
But it seemed like the stares were horribly inevitable. The men stared at me with the same scornful looks as their partners beside them, but less intimidating, maybe just to please their wives.
