Chapter 17 - 17

"Speak, Arthur," I demanded, "Reject how? What do you mean?" 

He let go of me, settling back into his place on the bench, "It's not important, Ahvi," he muttered, "It's nothing at all, I meant you might tell me no, obviously," he scoffed. 

I shook my head, "That's not what you meant unless you wouldn't have said it like that," I persisted, "Tell me if there's a way we can break this mate bond–"

"I've told you it's nothing, darling," he assured me, "Don't worry about that, I might have just said it with a wrong tone or something," he shrugged. 

I didn't believe but I believed it'd be better to just let it go instead of letting it bother me. I stayed to lounge a bit with him in the garden a bit still, having the rejection at the back of my mind. If there was a possibility I could make him stop taking me as his mate, I could release myself from this bondage and go back to my normal life as if nothing happened.
