Chapter 16 - Chapter 15

David made his way back to his room.

He tried opening the door with his arm only to wince in pain upon touching the door's handle.

It turned out that the hand he used to touch the door was the same hand Steven burnt when he shook David.

David just looked at his burnt hand and sighed before opening the door with his other hand.

He went to his room and immediately collapsed on his bed, worn out and tired because of everything he had gone through in just his first day of school.

David then began to think about how he managed to make three friends (Akiri, Flora and Susan) and apparently one enemy (Steven).

David sighed as he began to think about Steven, wondering what his problem was, he had saved him from being expelled from the academy and instead of being grateful to him Steven's anger towards him only grew more.

David didn't know what to do.

He didn't want to have Steven as an enemy; he didn't want to even have an enemy in general.

He was raised and taught by Abari to be friendly and kind to everyone, and in return even would be nice to him.

Steven's attitude went against everything Abari taught, instead of being friendly and kind, he was cold and bitter, treating everyone around him like his enemy.

David struggled to understand how Steven could live such a bitter, angry and lonely life.

He then thought of Susan.

She was the exact opposite of Steven, kind and sweet, friendly to everyone who came her way and capable of seeing the goodness in anyone, even Steven.

David then began to wonder how Steven and Susan could actually be related when they were the direct oppose of one another.

David then thought about the last thing Steven told him

"I'm only going to say this once, stay away from my sister. She has a soft and gullible heart, a heart that I don't want to see broken or hurt by the likes of you. And if you don't do what I say, will roast like a turkey".

Upon remembering what Steven said David realized that even though Steven may be angry, cold and bitter he had a heart and cared deeply cared for Susan?

David then yawned, feeling immensely tired as he desperately needed to rest.

David then slowly closed his eyes and drifted away to sleep.

As David slept that night, he had a strange dream.

In his dream he stood before the Temple of The Golden Dragon Warrior.

David could sense something from the temple.

A strange but yet familiar power calling out to him, he felt drawn to it, almost as though there was a strange force pulling him towards it.

David could not resist the call so he began to approach the temple, moving closer and closer to it until he reached the temple's doors.

David, feeling the mysterious force continuing to pull him towards whatever lied within the temple's walls, placed his hand on the temple doors and then a blinding flash of golden light appeared out of nowhere.

David then woke up.

David, confused and unable to understand or make out what his dream was about got up from his bed and made his way to the window.

At the window David saw the temple, standing majestically in the forest outside the academy, illuminated by the moonlight from the night sky.

David, upon seeing the temple thought about his dream and how, for whatever reason, it had something to do with the Temple of The Golden Dragon Warrior.

David then thought about going to the temple to find out what connection he and his dreams had with the temple but then realized that if he were to do so it may lead to him getting in trouble with academy.

David had just become an official student of the academy, if he were to do something as reckless as leave the academy so late at night and go the temple, he may get expelled, and that was something David wanted to avoid.

But even though David knew the risks his curiosity got the best of him, he needed to know what his dream were trying to tell him and how he and the temple were connected.

David then took a deep breath, and then, having made his decision turned to away and blew away, out of the window.

Meanwhile, outside the academy gates, Steven made his way to a small house near the academy.

Once there, he knocked at the door.

A few moments late Araban, the gate keeper of the Dragon Academy opened the door.

"What are you doing here?" asked Araban.

"It was the Head master who had the genius idea to have me stay with you in your sorry accuse for a house," said Steven.

"For how long" asked Araban?

"Indefinitely" said Steven.

Araban upon hearing what Steven said just sighed before saying, "come in".

Steven then went in to Araban's home.

Immediately entering the house Steven made his way to the only bed he could see in the room but upon laying down on the bed he felt a gust of wind lift up from the bed and then throw him down, hard to the ground.

"I and I alone sleep on that bed" said Araban.

"Then where do I sleep" asked Steven annoyed and immensely angry.

Araban then threw a sheet of cloth to him.

"What am I supposed to use this for" asked Steven.

"Sleep" said Araban.

"What? You can't be serious" asked Steven, enraged at the fact that Araban expected him to sleep on a piece of cloth.

"This is my house and since you will be staying here for so time you will have to follow every command I give, and i command you to sleep on that sheet" said Araban

Steven could grin angrily before spreading the sheet on the floor and lying down on it.

"Can I at least have a blanket" asked Steven.

"Aren't you a fire dragon warrior?" asked Araban.

"Yes" said Steven.

"Then heat yourself up with your flames if you feel too cold" said Araban.

Steven then glared at the man with anger and bitterness in his eyes, wanting noting more than to roast him alive for the way he was treating him.

"Good night boy" said Araban as he lied down on his bed and slept.

As Araban slept Steven stayed awake, his mind refusing to let him sleep as it was filled with bitter and hate driven thoughts about David.

He blamed him for his current situation, having to stay outside the academy with a man he could not stand, sleeping on a sheet of cloth on the cold hard floor.

Steven at that very moment could not hate anyone as much as he hated David.

He promised himself that he was would make David pay for everything he had done the second he got a chance to.

To him, David was thorn on his side, a thorn he wanted to remove and burn.
