Nadine slid her fingers through Corina's hair. She took a chunk of it on the left side and tied it with a cute, satin pink ribbon. She repeated the process on the opposite side, then clapped her hands together. "There! It looks cute!"
Corina looked in the mirror and slid the tip of her index finger over the ribbon. "It does look better," Corina muttered. "But I still look like a boy wearing a dress."
"That's absurd."
"It's not," Corina whined. "Maybe I should dress like a boy from now on. If we have guests or we go into town, everyone will know."
"It's all in your head. You don't look any less like a woman than you did with long hair."
Corina frowned and shook her head. "Nobody here will judge me, but I'm scared. I feel like I'm in the wrong body. I'm trapped, and there's nothing I can do about it."
