Corina immediately covered her face with her hands when she saw Alexander begin to unbutton his shirt. Even so, she still peeped out through her fingers. "Why are you undressing?!"
"It's the only way to show you," he replied, working on the last button. "Don't cover your face."
Corina nodded and lowered her hands to the bed. She nervously fidgeted with the fabric of the covers around her. "Are you sure it's the only way? You could just explain it."
"It'll be more effective to show you."
Through his open shirt, Corina could see his bare skin. The sight made her heart pound rapidly in her chest. She thought it could explode inside her thoracic wall and cover her lungs with cardiac tissue and blood. At least if she died in such a way, it wouldn't be messy on the outside, at least she thought so.
