The Cape buffalo's herd leader abrupt change in direction sent us barreling toward a dense thicket. My heart pounded in my chest, but I didn't hesitate. I tightened my grip on the reins, urging my steed forward, feeling the powerful muscles beneath me respond instantly. The chase had taken a turn, but I wouldn't let that stop me. The leader of the herd was my target, and I was determined to isolate him.
