For all the differences in these cultures, a few factors remain prevalent.
Namedays are always a thing of great joy.

NARA
I was winning. The dragon writhed beneath me, its scales black as coal, shimmering in the dim light of a sun that didn't exist. My arakh was buried deep in its throat, and I could feel the winged beast's power waning beneath my hands. One more strike. Just one more, and—
"Nara," came a voice from far away, distant, like the wind through an empty canyon.
I tightened my grip on the dragon's neck, my muscles straining as it let out a deafening roar. Victory was within reach. The dragon's flailing grew weaker, its once-proud wings now uselessly scraping the ground.
"Nara. Wake up."
