Chapter 3 - Chapter 2 - Circus Soldiers

Waking up from my deep slumber I turned to my right to see if I had received any system notifications, I have not. Which means that the upgrade of the dungeon was still underway, I doubt it has much time left now anyways. After all, I must have slept for around 12 hours which was the standard for the amount of sleep i normally get.

Although people seem to think that it as a lot of sleep, I always seem to come out tired every time i wake up from my nap. Maybe that was entirely the fault of my body as I do not seem to have that affect with this one as I feel like I could run for a hundred years and still have energy left for another 20 year sprint.

The physiology of my current body was something that I was impressed with, for a supposedly weak body. It was immensely stronger than the average E rank being.

Because of this I feel like I would have no problem dealing with D rank monsters, although that just may be me getting cocky at finally having strength in my body for once. It was something I never thought to be possible when I had been in my previous body, so fragile the wind could've knocked me over but with this. I feel like I could conquer the wind itself, although I mean it metaphorically.

After all how would one come about conquering wind, sealing it in a plastic bag? Don't be silly, they're is no way to become the master of something that is so essential to living. But wouldn't that make wind our master, we take the oxygen it provides to survive, without air, humanity would be nothing but carbon that pollute the skies.

Getting off my throne, I walked down the steps. Each footstep reverberating with power and aggression as it hastened in speed, you may be wondering why it sped up? well our protagonist here tripped and is now spamming the run button to try and regain footing.

"Ahem, that guy has to stop interfering with this." I coughed before I was finally able to gain my footing, patting down my clothing I smiled deep down at myself before I headed off to see how my cute little workers were doing. They seemed to dislike me but it's not like they can do anything against me, although i do wonder. Why do they dislike jesters so much?

What have jesters possibly done to hurt those little guys that they all grew a passion to distrust every single jester look alike out there, hmm, it does make you wonder just how many different events happen in the world without you knowing.

I wonder if someone had their hot dog stolen by the time I arrived as this dungeon boss, would be funny if it has already happened. " HEY SYSTEM! ahem. has anyone got a hotdog stolen from them yet?"

[ What a stupi… ]

" Answer the damn question, i don't want to be the only one to have had their hot dog taken from them." I spoke with a frown on my face

[ Very well then, the likely hood of getting your hotdog stolen from you are low but never zero.

If my calculations are correct then atleast four people have had their hot dogs stolen since you arrived here ]

"Thank you system. See that wasn't hard." I smiled knowing i wasn't the only one to have lost a delicious hot dog to a thief, seriously it's only a dollar, twenty five, why do they have to steal it from me.

A guy just trying to happily enjoy his meal, that guy completely spoiled my day. " Enough of that, how long until the dungeon is upgraded?"

[ Finally some reasonable questions,

Dungeon upgrade completion - 3 hours ]

'Three hours, not to long then.' I nodded to myself after all it wasn't a long time to wait, " Wait, THREE HOURS!! how long have i been sleeping?"

[ The host had been asleep for approximately

21:32:08 seconds, it seems like the host was pretty tired so I decided to leave you be ]

" whatever, that's fine. Just means the workers have rested for a bit longer than expected." A grin slowly appeared on my face cause even the system to slightly shake which widened my eyes, "Why are you so frightened?"

[ The aura you unleashed just now is akin to a ruler class monster, yet you only have the strength of a D rank, don't tell me? no that shouldn't be possible. ]

"What shouldn't be possible?" Hearing the system and its words brought some shock to me, ' What do you mean my aura is so strong it's classed at ruler level.'

Does this mean i'm secretly an overpowered boss that can beat Sung Jin Woo, 'Hahhh, don't get too full of yourself after all i'm still weak.'

I needed to focus on increasing my level but the only way of doing that is by killing monsters and since I'm a dungeon boss and not a human, i don't have access to E rank gates.

Damn, is it really gonna be impossible for me to rank up and get powerful. No, there must be a way for me to get stronger. There's no way they'd let me be this weak without a chance to invade other dungeons.

Wait, invade? I remember, the system mentioned something about it earlier, " Hey system, will it be possible for me to raid other dungeons?"

[ It is available to have the opportunity to raid other dungeons and gain their riches such as DP, and many more. Who knows maybe you be invited to the monster auction. ]

' Monster auction? that was never mentioned in the original story. well i guess that makes sense, the protagonist is human after all' I rubbed my hands together, oh it was all coming together now. I'm sure by the twenty year mark i'll be powerful enough to take on Jin Woo and his shadow army.

Walking through the streets of the circus, i had come to noticed the empty streets. The workers most likely lazing around after having done their duties, i scoffed, they were useful and useless at the same time.

To think such a thing was possible. After all how could a man possibly be useless and useful in the same topic, well my dear friend, it is rather simple. This is because of one simple thing, the rule of being their to work or laze around, now however, what if this job site was also your home? well of course you'd rather laze around then work.

Now then, what happens when your boss suddenly strikes this inconspicuous bell that was randomly located in the middle of the square? Well of course all the workers would come rushing to see who's making the noise that is ruining their resting and lazing around time.

Slamming my fists into the bell, it moved forwards before eventually pulling back. The ringing sounds reverberating throughout the whole area, a large smile now plastered under my mask as I started to hear the groaning and displeasure of my workforce.

As they all slowly filled the square, their tired eyes now slowly waking up to try and find who was the rather rude guest that woke them up. However, if it's your boss you can't really complain now can you? This is where i will be using my advantage.

" Very well! Since you idiots have stopped lazing around, it's time to get to work!" I held my mask as i entered a deep bow catching the workers off guard, " After all, It is our GRAND OPENING! "

And just on queue the system rang up behind me speaking on the completion of the dungeon upgrade and how summonings were now available. I scanned through my dungeon page to check how many points i owned.

' 4400 DP, that's a decent amount i hope.'

"Alright then, show me these summons!" I commanded my system which also seemed to cause my workers to separate leaving a space in the square.

[ Dungeon Monster Purchasing ]

Hyena - 50 DP

The Mimic - 20 DP

Clown Of Many Faces - 400 DP

Seer Of Sin - 500 DP

To unlock more, you must level up the dungeon. As your dungeon is rank E, monster strength will be adjusted to match.

[ Happy Shopping Host ]

' Alright, i'll need to think on this. It's best to just use up the dungeon points now, I don't wanna chance luck and suddenly get invaded by 50 rats and don't have the forces to deal with it. Damn the Skaven, the worst fucking faction. '

' I might just go for the overwhelming odds strategy with the hyenas, no that wouldn't work. It'd be a waste, we need troops on the front to be able to hold the line. Although i'm guessing this faction is mainly gonna be built around glass cannons. '

This might become a major issue, " Aghhh! why am i so fucking indecisive." i slammed my fist into the bell once more, the singing resounding through the halls and the workers as stiff as ever.

' we'll need a mage and by the sound of it the seer of sin is one. So that one is gonna around 500 gone leaving us with 3900.' I mumbled under my breath, my teeth scraping against my coarse lips. Thankfully all was hidden behind the mask otherwise i'd look like a pathetic leader currently.

' we'll buy five COMF, that should help start to structure a front line. Even if it's only slightly, the rest will go into hyenas. The mimics can be bought later, right now i need forces.'

[ Purchasing ]

1 Seer of Sin

5 Clowns of many faces

38 hyenas

[ Accept or Decline ]

Seeing this, I pondered once more before accepting the notification. As soon as my finger touched the button, a blinding tower struck the centre of the square causing everyone to cover their eyes.

The workers had also grown increasingly excited at the prospect of meeting this dungeons warriors, but why does it seem like they care more about the warriors then me? The boss of this place.

Well whatever, as long as I can keep this place going it doesn't matter what the workers think of me, as long as they work hard.

The beam of light had now started to slowly subside, revealing 44 figures, five of them being clowns that seemed to be grinning at simply being there. The lady at the front seemed to be the seer and well the rest were Hyenas, all giggling amongst eachother, some biting towards the workers before laughing with the other hyenas.

" Clowns and the seer, follow me." I left my position near the bell and was now headed for the throne room the hyenas and the warriors lowering their heads as I passed, " Hyenas, go play after all this is your home."

Hearing me the Hyenas immediately scattered, with the central plaza erupting into chaos as the workers started getting chased, " Don't kill the workers. After all, we're friends" I spun my neck toward the direction of the hyenas, before twisting it forward once more and continuing my journey towards the main tent.

Nearing the tent, i push open the flaps and walked towards my throne. The servants following behind me kneeling just before the steps, good.

" Well then my servants, shall we get to business? Let's make this quick, we wouldn't want the hyenas ripping our friends to shreds would we?" The servants hearing me simply nodded their heads, " very well, the clowns your duty as of now is to protect the workers in case of any surprise attacks, use the hyenas, theirs plenty to go around."

Flicking my wrist i waved for the Clowns to leave, " Now then what to do with you? Act as an advisor to the workers. They're a rowdy and mischievous bunch but if they had someone they looked up to im sure they'll work extra hard for that favour. Now go."

I leaned into the back of my chair as the final servant left to fulfill their duty, with this i hope atleast the workers could have some motivation to actually do stuff instead of lazing around.
