Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 - Goblin Hunting

As I pounced at the goblin that had just turned the corner, I quickly and violently covered the goblins mouth. I slammed the goblin close to my body as my dagger pierced its throat before being cut out of it, ripping out the vocal cords and any veins that supplied blood.

The goblin laid collapsed on the floor, blood pouring at a rapid pace out of its now opened throat. I crouched down, searching the pouches that the goblin had loosely kept on his linen robe. It was a waste, nothing useful came from it.

"Tch, that goblin was a tooth collector." I gagged as i threw the pouches away as they had contained no useful valuables.

Turning my attention back towards the campfire, i noticed how some of the goblins had started to sleep. This had left one awake which would make it easier for me to assassinate each one.

Grabbing the knife by the tip of the blade I prepared to throw it towards the unsuspecting goblin. My grip loosened slightly as I was trying to make sure it would stay accurate. I smiled, i was going to finally be able to put my knife throwing practice into good use.

I threw the dagger, the blade piercing through the goblins soft skull. It was such a perfect shot that it would of made even archers grow an extra bone in their body. That is if they had the XY chromosome of course, if they didn't then they'd stay missing a bone.

Creeping up to the dead goblin, i started to take into my surroundings. It was a small goblin camp that had two goblins left, both loudly snoring. The larger one having his foot on the chest of the smaller goblin. Grabbing my dagger out of the goblin corpse.

I turned to my two best victims, Placing the dagger over the throat of the larger of the goblins. I slit it, before quickly covering the bleeding with the goblins own loin cloth. Staring at the second victim, i smiled.

'Oh to die in your sleep. What a wonderful gift'

I planted the dagger straight into the victim number 2s eye, pulling it out I slit open his throat. Alright then, that's four dead goblins on my hands now. If this monster auction thing is real, won't the goblin race be mad at me if they find out.

I suddenly paused as a flash of lightning metaphorically struck me, " Noo, what if the goblins don't sell me stuff."

I fell on my knees at the pure thought, "wait. What would goblins even have? Ha, they'd probably sell the loin cloth on their body. Nevermind, i'll take pleasure in killing them."

I skipped through the empty stone halls, my metal shoes causing a reverberating sound every time it struck the hard cold stone floor. ' Shouldn't this add some fear factor? Definitely'

I confidently nod at my thought, maybe if their was water dripping and a little girl going 'lalala' it could've been scarier. But atleast i'm trying to create some scare tactics to make it easier to kill these guys since they'll be slightly distracted at something else.

Gripping tightly onto my dagger, i stared at the crossroads that was coming up ahead of me. I lowered my body, my footsteps slowing the closer i got near to the divided road. After ten large steps I arrived at the two roads that now laid before me, pointing my left finger towards the left road.

Bouncing my fingers between the two roads starting with the left path, i used my favourite decider game.

" Eeny meeny miny moe "

Bouncing back left to right, it had stopped. Landing on the Right road, seeing this I walked up the darky dingy right path. The path was dirty, moss growing on the sides of the walls. With darkness filling up the hall for what could be hundreds of feet.

Their was no entertainment in a place like this, it was boring and a waste of my time. The only thing that will be useful about this dungeon is that i'll get enough XP to reach 'level 3'. At this point do i even want to reach level 3 in this damp place.

Well of course I do and theirs nothing that could possibly slow me down on the path of success, but this? This was simply too boring, where were the goblins I could massacre on mass or assassinate in droves. The assassination missions in games make it seem way to fun but this? Why couldn't the dungeons at least follow some game logic and have large numbers grouped together around a explosive barrel.

They weren't even trying to make this easier for 'Level 1' players like me but I guess Sung Jin Woo didn't have it easy either. Then I guess, it's time to reach max level. I must beat Sung Jin Woos leveling pace if I want to even have a chance against him and his horde.

'haahh, Ashbourne really picked a troublesome successor.' I sighed to myself as I decided to pick up the pace my attention now unfocusing on the path that laid ahead of me as it attention now laid else where. Spinning tales to keep me going through this boring period of walking endlessly in the middle of a random dungeon.

Why couldn't they all be like my dungeon and have 'fair rides' scattered around? Is it so difficult for other monsters to make things that allowed you to have fun? Now I know the reason why humans used to mate so much back in the medieval days, I would too!

This cave system is so borish, bring me a horde of monsters at this point to keep me distracted. My feet walking as fast as they were suddenly stopped, abruptly shaking me out of my thoughts as I felt the ground below me shake.

Readying my dagger, I stared ahead of me waiting for whatever large beast it could be. Seconds turned to minutes, the shaking endless and this time a smell filled the air. The stench of dirt and whores, so the goblins are finally coming? That's good, very good.

I can finally get out of this disgusting place if I can quickly finish this. Charging forward, my feet clanging upon the floor each time it struck. Sparks flying behind, I arrived at the first goblin. A being small in size but he was equally alert, a scout? Most likely, but why would you have a scout in your own dungeon?

Was the dungeon boss warned that some of his minions were killed? Or was he warned that a foreign dungeon was invading? Most likely the latter, as the dungeon might've acted out like mine and warned him.

Good, this means i'll start encountering more and more goblins from now on. Cleaning up my dagger, I stared at the now murdered goblin. Two missing eyes and a hole in his temple, a quick but brutal kill. Smiling at the corpse I continued, this was starting to get exciting after all.

Running through the dungeon, i had encountered multiple goblins since the goblin scout. Although they had all been pitifully weak, that I had massacred around ten goblins so far. This had netted me enough XP to reach 'Level 2', with this my stats had also been boosted aswell. Although I had no abilities just yet, it does make me wonder how does one come across abilities or does it just manifest on itself.

I'll have to do some research to test it out and maybe I could get one for myself, who knows? This world works in mysterious ways after all, after all who expects to become a dungeon boss in a story? Not me that's who, although i've read enough isekai to know it made some people cream at the thought. With me however, it didn't seem possible, well that was until i was reincarnated. You know the saying, 'There's a first for everything.'

This was my first into the journey of reincarnation and safe to say, I believe I took it quite well. Well better then some of the Isekai protagonists anyways, they always seemed like such crybabies to me. Although that may have just been me, after all i've been called a strange person ever since I reached the age of 6.

The time when stories were particularly extremely interesting to me, the mystery some of those authors had been able to build was truly fascinating. It was one of my many interests in that life, books. Oh how profound they were, the ability to pass on knowledge to all those that read.

The ability to make people imagine different worlds and almost daydream at each of the text, stories were no different to spoken tales of heroics as both were heavily exaggerated to capture the readers attention.

Just like I am capturing the goblins attention by being the final person in their lives, their slaughterer, their butcher. My dagger sinking into the skin of another goblin, I stared down at my hands, the gloves that covered them were now stained in a deep crimson, 'Blood', the thing all beings are made of.

Grabbing my dagger, i pulled it out of the goblins corpse. My body still light after all the fighting, it felt like I could've kept fighting forever, but it seems it will soon come to a end. The large gate ahead of me proved that, the entrance to the Throne room, the place the dungeon boss himself would reside.

Turning my attention towards the corpses that littered the cave behind me, I kicked the one below me, why couldn't these green rats carry anything useful. Is the stick and stone dagger really all the useful items they could make, whatever. Atleast the daggers could be put to use, feeling around my waist, I felt around five daggers.

I looked back towards the door, grinning, i walked towards it my left hands reaching forward. It planting firmly against the flat wooden door, pushing it forward had revealed to me another part of the cave. This time it had been furnished by a single throne, which had a the common evolved version of a goblin.

[ Hobgoblin - This dungeons Boss monster ]

Basing it on the standard stories, it should be pretty dim witted, this should allow me to control the flow of a battle if it just charges at me like a idiot.

I lowered my body into a stance ready for battle and the boss monster before me had also done the same, standing up from his throne, he swung around his wooden sword.

From the looks of it, it didn't look like anything special. Although that's all i could see with my eyes, it could have a hidden perk inside, although I heavily doubt it as this is only a E rank dungeon.

Using my left hand, i reached for one of the stone daggers around my waist while keeping my attention ahead of me. Feeling a the tip of a dagger, i grabbed it before quickly throwing it towards the hobgoblin.

The goblin simply using his sword was able to flick it away with a single swipe of his blade, so this was gonna be harder then the weak goblins? Good, i'll finally be able to let loose and have fun.

Holding my position, i tried waiting out for the hobgoblin to make his first move. Our eyes holding a deadlock with each other both of us neither wanting to make a move, but knowing how battles work, it would be the one with the most impatience.

Which would be the hobgoblin that laid before me, I may be a man that got bored easily but i was quite patient after all I had to wait quite a bit in my previous life for projects to be finished and shipped out. In that sense, i was far more patient then him, as i had also waited for my illness to have killed me. Which had taken 25 years, something that bad stunned the doctors who had treated me.

My eyes flicked towards the feet of the rat, the ground cracking below it. Good! it's finally beginning.

The hobgoblin shot forward his blade raised over his head, wasting no time, i also raised my own hoping to deflect.
