Chapter One
Plane landing down at the airport, as passengers come out from the plane with their luggage. Natasha Allen, a 25-year-old beautiful lady with gorgeous blue eyes, shoulder-length, straight black hair, dressed in a blue, sleeveless dress with white stripes emerges.
"Home sweet home", Natasha mutters with a bright smile on her face.
Natasha walked through the airport, looking at everything around her, smiling as people were happy. She was happy to be home. As she walked outside the airport lounge area, she saw a woman and two children that were around 3-5 years old, and they all looked so happy together.
It made her smile and she continued walking till she saw her family right outside waiting for her.
"Natasha!" her parents cheerful voice welcomed her. She had tears in her eyes as she went over to hug them.
Her 14-year-old little brother, Ryan and best friend, Kate held a sign that reads 'Welcome Home Silly Head'
"Welcome home" the pair said in unison.
Natasha chuckled. "It's good to be home"
"We missed you so much." her mom says with tears already flowing down her cheek.
"Mom please don't cry, I'm not leaving anytime soon. I'm here to stay"
"I know honey. I'm just so happy, I can't help myself" her mother wiped the tears from her stained cheeks then smiles at her daughter.
"Aww mom, come here" Natasha pulls her mother in for another hug.
They pulled away from the hug and Natasha looks around as if she was looking for someone.
"What's wrong sweetie?" Her Dad asked, noticing her restlessness.
"Where's Tony?" She asked in anticipation.
Her parents looked at each other with sad looks on their face, and a forced smile on their lips.
"Honey, he isn't here" answered her father.
"What do you mean he's not here? I thought he's aware of my arrival today?" her voice held sadness when she asked.
"He said he had something urgent to attend to, rest assured that he will make it" her mother tried to cover up.
"Oh, okay then" she tries to mask her disappointment with a forced smile, even her family could see through her facade.
"It's been a while since I heard from Tony, I hope he is ok" she said, concern dripping in her voice.
"Oh honey, of course he is. He's Tony Maguire. I'm sure he's doing fine" her mom assured her.
"Enough about Tony let's go home, I'm sure you're tired" Kate held her hand and pulled her towards their car.
Natasha has been gone for 5 years to study abroad in France and she missed everyone back home a lot. Most especially Tony.
They started dating 5 years ago and even though they never made anything official, she always considered them as a couple. Always putting all the efforts into the relationship and wanting to make it work.
"Wow a lot has really changed" Natasha exclaimed, looking out the window.
"That's what happens when you're gone for a very long time" Kate teased.
"Yea I know" Natasha smiled, still looking out the window and letting her mind run wild.
They arrived at the Allen's house.
"I'll see you tomorrow, okay? Ensure you take care and sleep well, you need it" Both friends shared a hug.
"I will and you too" Kate waved goodbye and left for her place.
"Dad, I want to see Tony" Natasha said to her dad who looked alarmed.
"Someone is crazy in love" Ryan teases his sister.
"Shut up big mouth" Natasha retorts with a glare directed at him.
"No" Mr. Allen shook his head in disagreement.
"Any reason why I can't?" her brows furrowed.
Her dad looked uncomfortable as he searched for words to say. "He's busy, I told you that already. You don't need to go bother him now that he's working on this big project" he tried to sound dismissive.
Natasha wasn't convinced. "What kind of big project would keep him from seeing his girlfriend?"
"Sweetie, trust me on this okay? Just focus on taking enough rest, you're probably tired from your journey home. You can see him later" he convinced and led her into the house.
Natasha entered her room, puts her luggage on the floor and flops down on her bed, sighing once more. It feels good to be home and she missed her bed.
She wasn't satisfied with the response her dad told her, so she picks her phone from her purse and looked through pictures she has of Tony and her taken 5 years ago. She smiled as she remembers all the memories they shared together.
She felt the need to call Tony, just staring at his contact on her phone and contemplating the idea of doing so. She shook her head and put her phone on her bedside table.
"No, I will not chase him this time. I have done that for the past years we've been together. He has to come for me if he wants me" she said out loud, with hope that he wouldn't disappoint her.
Laying on her bed, she imagined how life would be when he finally proposes to her and the life they would build together in love and happiness. Those were the thoughts that occupied her mind till she slept and went off to dreamland.
It's morning and Natasha woke up to the sounds of birds chirping outside her window. She stretched and yawned, then got up from her bed, walked to her bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth. She went downstairs afterwards and caught her parents whispering about something.
Curiously, she made her way to them. "Good morning, mom, dad, what are you both whispering about?"
They stopped what they were talking about and looked at her, looked at themselves and back at her. Worry was evident on their faces, like they had a secret they were hiding from her. Natasha sensed that something was wrong but only them could tell her what it was
"Mom, Dad what is wrong?" her faces etched with worry and her heart beat fast.
Her mother sighs then walked closer to her. "Natasha dear, there's something we have to tell you" she held her hand.
"Okay, what is it" I'm all ears, she was still frowning.
"We didn't want to tell you this yesterday because we thought that wasn't a way to welcome you back home" her mother began then looked back at her father as if asking for his help.
"What's going on why can't you guys tel-"
"Tony is getting married" her father cuts in.
Chills went down her spine as the words sank in her mind, making meaning of it.
"Getting married, how? What are you guys talking about?"
"We got an invitation to attend the wedding tomorrow" her mother confirms.
Natasha felt her feet go cold, she couldn't breathe properly and felt the tear welled up in her eyes. Her parents still looked like they were hiding something else as they kept looking at each other with discomfort on their face.
"He's getting married to Rose"
her father broke the news that made her weak to the bones.
