Leyfia's statement left Ryan stunned. Her words were very serious, indicating that Leyfia was genuinely considering this possibility. Lyana, who overheard the conversation, continued to smile, perhaps not fully grasping how complicated and heavy the situation being discussed was.
Although the initial idea came from Ryan, he never expected that his mother, Leyfia, would be so enthusiastic, even preparing Lyana to become a wife. This left Ryan silent as he cut the meat on his plate, his gaze fixed on the piece of meat as if searching for answers to his confusion.
Ryan looked at his mother, Leyfia, who only responded with a calm smile, as if everything Leyfia planned for her children's future was neatly arranged in her mind. Seeing that smile, Ryan could only let out a long sigh, realizing that his mother was too deeply involved in a plan that should have remained a wild thought.
"By the way, when are you leaving, son?" Reynold broke the silence with his question, bringing Ryan back to reality.
"A week from now," Ryan replied, his voice sounding firm. "I will be taking a horse-drawn carriage to the Magic Airship Station."
"I see..." Reynold nodded slowly, acknowledging his son's decision without many questions.
After that, breakfast ended in a familiar silence, and Ryan returned to his room, accompanied by Ellina and Charlotte. That week passed quickly. Ryan spent his time with the same routine... breakfast, back to his room, and lounging around listening to the radio and watching the news on television.
This world, with all its advancements, was becoming an increasingly sophisticated place. Technology was rapidly evolving with the presence of Mana Energy, which accelerated the spread of information.
Television, although sometimes presenting exaggerated or manipulated news, remained a source of guidance that Ryan needed to understand the movements of the world out there. With just a few clues, Ryan could carefully devise his next plan.
The right time had come. Ryan was now ready to leave the comfort of the Blackstar Family Residence and embark on his journey... a quest that might change everything. Those lazy days were Ryan's final preparations before facing greater challenges.
When the day of departure arrived, the atmosphere in the house felt heavy. Leyfia, with her usually assertive eyes, now appeared clouded by emotions that were hard to express.
Leyfia hugged Ryan tightly, as if she didn't want to let him go.
"I will miss you so much, my son," Leyfia said softly, full of affection. Leyfia's hand gently stroked Ryan's head, a maternal gesture that Ryan had felt since childhood.
Ryan, who was usually calm and calculating, felt warmth creeping into his heart.
Even though Ryan knew this journey was something he had to undertake, there was a twinge of feeling that made him almost want to postpone everything. But Ryan knew the decision had been made, and there was no turning back.
Ryan took a deep breath, feeling the warmth of Leyfia's gentle embrace.
"I will miss you too, Mom," Ryan whispered, his voice sounding hoarse with restrained emotion.
Leyfia tightened her embrace for a moment before reluctantly releasing Ryan, giving space for Reynold, who now stepped forward with a serious expression.
"Son, this journey will not be easy. If you find yourself in danger, use this..." Reynold pulled out a thin object made of metal and handed it to Ryan.
The object gleamed under the light, revealing a glass screen. A Magic Handphone... the latest model from Steve's Company, a renowned firm based in the Allen Empire and owned by a noble family of Marquis rank.
Ryan stared at the object for a moment before shaking his head slowly.
"No need," Ryan said in a calm yet firm voice.
"Why not, son? This is the best technology I can give you. You can contact anyone, anytime." Reynold furrowed his brow, his eyes filled with questions.
