Chapter 4 - 4|| MAID

What???

I yelled, gobsmacked at the sight before me.

These two adults stood before me, kissing hungrily like their lives depended on it. I was annoyed by the sight.

 "And why are you yelling?"

Edward barked as they both broke away from their act of immorality.

 "I thought we..."

I gestured with my hands to him and back to me and immediately he cut in.

 "Stop thinking, you miserable lowlife."

 "Who's she?"

 The lady asked Edward.

 "My maid."

He responded with an emotionless expression.

"Maid, you've gotten a new maid?"

 She asked, surprised.

"Yes, she was brought in yesterday, as her family needed money to sort their debts.

"Why not come upstairs and show zaddy how much you've missed him?"

He said this to her huskily, trying to avoid more questions.

I watched them as the lady burst out into a silly laugh.

She was of average height. Her melanin-colored skin radiated as the light rays hit her. The carton-colored body-con gown she wore was glued perfectly to her skin, expressing how endowed she was. Her hips were perfectly round, blended so well with her buttocks, and complimented her straight legs. She had a flat tummy, which complimented her enhanced breasts. Without lingerie, they sat lower, more natural, and less close together, each so perfect and molded to her form. Her eyes, framed by lashes that fluttered like delicate wings, were the color of a stormy sea, sparkling with a mischievous glint.

Her lips, plush and inviting, wore a shade that mirrored the flush of passion or the softness of rose petals.

"Susan, you are here for a purpose. Don't let this get to you."

 I cautioned myself.

"What are you ogling at? Get out of that place and fix up something for my girl."

 Edward said with a scowl.

 The lady giggled again.

I do not know what part of Liam's speech was funny, but I was enraged and felt like slapping that giggle out of her mouth.

I rolled my eyes as I made my way out of their presence.

 "The kitchen is over there."

He pointed over a door in the left corner of the sitting room.

I eyed him as I walked to the door and turned to look at them again. This time, they were hugging chest to chest while Liam ruffled her hair with her giggling.

 "Slut"

I muttered under my breath, outrightly annoyed, as I walked into the kitchen.

Once in the kitchen, I stood confused, not knowing how to navigate through because the room was quite exquisite and extraordinary. It was quite different from my late father's kitchen.

I stomped out of the kitchen again to tell Liam to at least show me around the kitchen.

They were no longer in the room when I got there, so I made my way to go look for his room since he hadn't shown me.

From the top of the stairs, I took to the right wing, wondering how a bachelor like him would have so many rooms in his house.

I stopped by one of the doors as I heard screams.

 "Stupid people."

 I hissed in disgust.

I got closer to the door and placed my ears. I could hear Edward groan too.

I pushed the door open, and they jerked off in shock.

Their bare bodies were covered with a duvet, and their clothes sprawled on the floor.

They both were shocked and looked like they had seen a ghost.

"I'm sorry, I thought you guys had a fight."

I lied as I shut the door back smiling mischievously that I was able to disrupt their moment.

Remembering my intentions, I pulled the doorknob again.

This time, they were both sitting and looking into space.

 Can't you knock?

 Edward barked.

"I'm sorry, I wanted to tell you to come show me around the kitchen."

I said, giving him an innocent and terrified look.

 "Is she this clumsy?"

The lady said. She was looking at him and then back at me, obviously irritated.

 "Get lost"

 He thundered at me.

I eyed them both in annoyance as I stomped out of the room, banging the door in annoyance.

Why would he shout at me like that?

My breath hitched as I made my way to my room.

I opened the door, locked it from inside, and fell on my bed, as I had gotten enough for the day.

Rolling from one side of the bed to the other, I couldn't sleep as I was restless and my stomach kept rumbling loudly.

A knock landed on the door.

 Who's there? I asked.

 "Please come out."

 The female voice said.

 The voice sounded unfamiliar.

'His room is down the left wing."

I said with the thought that the bearer was looking for Liam.

"Mr. Edward told me to meet you so I could show you around."

Sighing tiredly, I stepped out of the bed and walked to the door, opening it.

As the door creaked open, there stood an older-looking woman.

She was not so tall and had a petite structure.

 "I am Ms. Brittany."

She said it with a smile.

 "I am Susan."

I replied, giving Ms. Brittany a relieved smile.

"I am the housekeeper, and Mr. Edward called me to show you around the house, so that is why I came to call you."

She said, after which I nodded uneasily.

"I'll be around for a few days, so you can ask questions about anything that bothers you."

She added as we strolled down the stairs.

"Okay." I responded, feeling elated that I had gotten some company.

 "Do you love him?"

She asked casually as we strolled to the rooms in the house.

 "No"

 I replied emotionlessly.

"Why then did you accept to marry him?"

Ms. Brittany stopped in her tracks to ask with a look of concern.

I narrated the situation back at home to her.

"Even though your family was in huge debt and your mom was sick, is that enough reason to marry you off to someone you do not love?"

 She asked rhetorically.

"This is the best I can do for my family at this point ever since my father died."

 I responded nonchalantly, looking away.

Just a little while, and I'll divorce that swine. They think I'm really who I look like.

I thought as I was already tired of Edward.
