Night had fallen.
Cory's squad arrived at said location. And before their eyes they saw a four-story building, which is surrounded by four-meter walls. Windows, there are not many windows there either. The area of this place was one hundred by one hundred meters and in addition to the four-story building, there were two one-story buildings.
- Uh huh... There's four people outside. Nash, try using the detection spell.
Nash is a member of the green hawk squad. He's a scout mage and marksman. He has good reactions, average mana and, thanks to his eyesight, excellent marksmanship. Age 20 years. Hair and eyes are dark purple.
- No problem, but this spell is mana demanding.
Concentrating, he used the spell to see how many people were in the building (the detection spell only shows silhouettes of living creatures in gray and you can't tell who is there).
- In a large building on the first floor there is a huge number of people. Apparently these are the ones who were kidnapped. In the second and third floors there are only twenty people and... One of them is sitting in some small room. There's no one on the fourth floor. And the one-story buildings have fifteen people in them. The one on the right has some other animals in it. And... That's it.
- I see. All right, let's go on the offensive. And please pay attention.
They entered the area and slowly made their way towards a large building as suddenly one of them came rushing towards them.
Cory reacted quickly and saw several mercenaries in dark brown outfits rushing towards them.
"I thought they'd be smaller..."
And as one of Kori's squad took a step back, the trap that was set there fried him to a full blast.
- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
Then they realized that they were inside the barrier. And that if anyone tried to get out, they would die immediately.
Realizing that until they deal with the mage they can't get out of the barrier, they immediately started fighting against each other.
The battle between them was very entertaining. The hawks were winning against these mercenaries. But at one point, their battle came to a halt. Because they were hit by a shockwave that came from a large building.
