Chapter 1 - Y Country.

"Once you close your eyes... this night shall pass too. Su Mei, this isn't new to you anyway," Xi Yuan smiled as she closed the door.

Darkness greeted Su Mei again... indeed, it wasn't a foreign thing to her. She'd been living this way for the last seven years... first, because she tried to voice her opinion, but now, simply because they couldn't stand the sight of her.

But Su Mei didn't feel anything about it. She was just as the rumors said—a beautifully crafted, lifeless doll, dumb and numb. There was no emotion on her face or even a slight bother about how she'd been treated for the past seven years.

Maybe, to Su Mei, she died that day... the day she woke up after her 19th birthday. She was living and walking, but her heart carried a void that no one could erase... she seemed to have lost a part of herself that defined her. So, to her, whatever she is now isn't really her... she hated who she was in this moment.

She remembered the moment she woke up... she heard noises from outside... her so-called uncle beating her brother, Su Cheng, to death, roaring at him for driving while drinking, which had caused their parents to fall into a coma. Later, her uncle asked her aunt to walk up to her and explain how her brother and father had a huge fight, and how her brother said, "You shall regret it," to her father before the incident took place.

Her uncle, her mom's brother, blamed Su Cheng for walking away from the accident with just a few scratches while their parents were nearly dead and she had lost her sanity.

She still remembers the day before she testified in court... She stared at the man standing before her, even though he was covered in bruises.

"They say you're my brother," Su Mei spoke, staring blankly at the man without any emotion.

"I... [coughing blood]... am," he replied, spitting some blood.

"Did you drive the car?" she asked again.

"Yes," he answered, his head facing the floor.

The next day, she stood in court as a witness. "Yes, he drove the car. Yes, he admitted it himself." The 19-year-old Su Mei walked out of the courtroom... maybe that was the moment she gave up on everything... she realized that with her brother admitting to the crime, she had no hope left in this world.

This was Su Mei... the top-rumored, worthless heiress who was alive thanks to her uncle, who had taken over her father's company and helped her run it. She was often compared to her uncle's daughter, who was said to have graduated from the Premier League, the school that only accepts geniuses with an exceptionally high IQ at the age of 14 and releases them into society at 19.

It is said that the students who graduate from that place are world-renowned figures. Very few people from Y Country have attended the university. Due to the tight privacy policy of the school, unless the students choose to reveal their identities, not a single detail about them is disclosed.

A remarkable example of the school's prestige is Mo Hui, often called Y Nation's hero. He graduated from the "Premier League" at the age of 19 and then joined the military, following in his father's footsteps. He later embarked on a secret undercover mission that dismantled a powerful underground gang in the country.

Thanks to that mission, Y Country remained safe from attacks, and Mo Hui became a national hero. However, at the age of 25, he resigned from the military to enter the business world, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Mo Dai, who was known for his century-long royal bloodline and his status as an undefeated business king.

Under Mo Hui's leadership, within just two years, Mo Corporation became one of the top global businesses capable of influencing the fate of world nations. As a result, Mo Corporation became an unshakable powerhouse.

Mo Dai himself revealed in an interview that he was an alumnus of the Premier League, as were his son and grandson, further enhancing the school's prominence in Y Country.

Xi Yuan, said to have graduated from the Premier League, was more admired by everyone compared to an heiress with no life. Su Mei never commented on any of this... more aptly, she simply never cared.

Present.

Su Mei's lifeless body fell onto the cold floor as she felt nothing... darkness consumed her as she closed her eyes.

It's funny how there was nothing in her mind or thoughts... she was truly numb... to the point where she didn't even care if she was being torn to pieces.

Maybe in this life... she is still alive but has been dead inside since that day seven years ago.

Mo Corporation.

"Boss... Boss," Fu Lei called out hesitantly, his anxiety evident as he repeated the word.

At the end of his gaze stood a man whose presence was as undeniable as that of a handsome, demonic god. Each of his features seemed to have been crafted in secret by the gods, perfected in every detail. Even Fu Lei, who had seen him every day for the past seven years, couldn't help but be captivated by his boss's appearance.

Hearing Fu Lei, the man, whose eyes had been intently focused on the computer screen, turned his striking blue eyes toward him.

"We can't seem to find any information on Ms. Sera," Fu Lei said, breaking into a sweat.

"Try digging deeper... and use the Alpha team," the man responded, his voice steady and commanding.

The Alpha team? His boss's personal team, consisting of top experts in each field? Who is this woman to make him go to such lengths? If Fu Lei remembered correctly, the Alpha team usually handled the world's most secretive and challenging issues.

But Fu Lei didn't dare question his boss.

"Understood, Boss," Fu Lei replied as he left the room to contact the Alpha team.

Mo Hui stared at the network, where a chat named "Sera" had last seen logged in was seven years ago. He closed the tab, sinking his phone into the network with a small software program, and then shut down the screen.

"Sera... what happened to you?", His handsome brows made a frown...making the weather more duller than it is.
