Chapter 32 - The Turning Tide

Alan gritted his teeth, struggling to keep up with Matt. The earth mage was formidable, his body shielded by layers of hardened soil, making it difficult for Alan to land a decisive blow. Each strike Alan attempted was either blocked or deflected by Matt's impenetrable defense.

"You guys really are from the Shade Society too," Alan muttered, his eyes narrowing with suspicion.

Matt's gaze sharpened. "What do you mean by 'too'?"

Alan smirked, raising his sword high. "I mean this… Rise Thursan!"

In an instant, Alan's sword transformed, its blade becoming a crackling conduit of pure lightning, glowing with an electric blue aura. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and the air around them sizzled with energy.

Matt took an involuntary step back, shock evident on his face. "You too?!"

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Sam was locked in a fierce battle with Luna. Her Hollow World had turned the arena into a nightmarish landscape of blood and darkness. Every time Sam tried to land a hit, Luna would skillfully deflect his attacks, swinging her blood-forged sword to create a barrier that shielded her from his strikes.

Sam needed a new approach. He dashed at full speed, using his agility to leap high into the air. With a powerful jump, he landed right behind Luna. She spun around, slashing her sword in an attempt to counter, but Sam was already one step ahead. He dropped low to the ground, executing a swift backflip and delivering a powerful kick to her jaw.

The impact sent Luna reeling, but Sam didn't let up. As she staggered, he moved in, stabbing her in the belly and dragging his blade upward, cutting through her shoulder. With a fierce battle cry, he raised his sword to deliver the final blow—a deadly slash aimed at her neck.

But before he could strike, Luna's eyes flashed with a dark light. She unleashed a massive explosion of blood blades, forcing Sam to jump back. The explosion tore through the air, and despite his best efforts to avoid it, Sam was caught in the blast, sustaining significant injuries. Blood seeped from cuts all over his body as he struggled to regain his footing.

Alan, on the other hand, was finding it difficult to penetrate Matt's defenses. Every time he tried to strike, Matt's earthen armor absorbed the impact. The battle was wearing him down, and frustration was beginning to set in. Despite his powerful lightning magic, he hadn't managed to do much damage.

As the fight continued, Sara, Masha, and Raven watched with bated breath from the sidelines, their hearts pounding with worry. They could only hope that Sam and Alan would find a way to turn the tide.

Luna, her face twisted with a cruel smile, spoke with cold confidence. "Your fate is sealed, Sam. You can't defeat me."

Sam, though barely able to stand, managed a defiant grin. "You know what? I just figured something out. What if I wash away all of your blood… using water?"

Luna's eyes widened in shock as Sam pointed his sword to the right, holding it steady. The flames that had once engulfed his blade suddenly shifted, transforming into a massive wave of water. The water surged forth, crashing down toward Luna with unstoppable force.

The river of blood that Luna had created began to dissolve, washed away by the torrent of water. Her Hollow World started to waver, its power diminishing under the relentless assault. Luna stood her ground, trying to summon more blood to reinforce her shield, but Sam's strategy was working. Her defenses were weakening.

Gathering every ounce of strength he had left, Sam dashed forward with blinding speed. Luna attempted to block his attack, swinging her blood sword to create a shield, but Sam's momentum was too great. His sword sliced through the shield like it was paper, and with one final, powerful slash, he struck Luna down.

Luna staggered, blood pouring from the deep wound across her chest.
