Elysia stirred awake, her gaze fixing on the ceiling of the King's chamber. Sunlight streamed through the window, marking the beginning of a new day. Her heart felt lighter than usual as she sat up, running her fingers through her hair. The bed was empty, Azrael was gone.
A sense of unease gnawed at her, though she couldn't place it. Something was different. Shaking off the feeling, she slipped into a flowing blue silk dress, her steps hesitant as she headed to the King's study, carrying his breakfast tray.
Carrying the tray carefully, Elysia gave a light knock on the door before stepping inside. Her gaze swept across the room, noticing Sevastian and Rohan leaning against opposite walls. Their attention shifted toward her.
"Good morning, gentlemen. It seems I have interrupted an important meeting. I can return later if needed," she said politely.
