After a heartfelt breakfast, the men excused themselves to the King's study, while the ladies decided to take a walk in the garden. Elysia felt a spark of excitement at having another woman around to talk to—she even dared to hope for a friendship with the princess.
Meanwhile, Azrael sent Marcus to investigate any records of a Cassandra who might have been in contact with the previous king or palace. Marcus recalled that Cassandra had once been employed as a palace worker, which piqued Azrael's interest.
"Tell me all you know about this woman Cassandra?" Azrael questioned.
"I know she was a cleaner here. A maid who was in charge of cleaning the hallways, staircase and the parlor." Marcus answered.
"And how long did she work as a maid?" he inquired.
"Five or six years. I can not quite remember," Marcus replied.
