"Let me go!" Mattie yelled as she tried to pull her hands from Astrid, but Astrid's grip was so tight on Mattie.
"Please don't leave me, I am scared" Astrid cried out, her contact had fallen out and she could hardly see clearly.
"Somebody help!" Mattie yelled, noticing footsteps running toward them.
She saw Julian running toward them and she decided to use this as her opportunity.
"Let me go please!" Mattie feigned crying, though Astrid couldn't tell Mattie's scheme, her grip around Mattie tightened.
Astrid also had bad memories of the pool. That is why she keeps clinging to Mattie for her dear life.
"I am sorry…. Please let me go.." Mattie added, now thrashing around.
Julian jumped into the pool in no time, misunderstanding the whole thing.
He swam toward Mattie, roughly yanking Astrid's hands from that of Mattie.
"Julian saved me… she went hysterical and pulled.." Mattie still didn't complete her words when Astrid gripped her again tightly.
Miles also jumped into the pool this time. Julian roughly pulled her hands from Mattie and then helped Mattie out of the pool.
Mattie then wrapped her hands around Julian's neck, feigning crocodile tears.
Astrid on the other hand thrashed around in fear until Miles grabbed her.
She clings to Miles so hard that she bursts into tears.
"Save me please.." she whispered and Miles helped her get out of the water.
Since she was chubby it got a bit too hard for him to do so, but he finally succeeded and placed her on the pool bench.
"What the fuck is wrong with you!? If you can't swim in the first place why pull Mattie with you!" Julian yelled at Astrid.
Astrid stood right and then lowered her head, she couldn't tell who she was apologizing to but she bowed.
She dared not say a word, she didn't know what next crazy scheme Mattie would pull with her again.
"I am sorry.." she apologized.
"Just shut the fuck up!" Julian interrupted her.
"The next time you do anything crazy to my girl, I won't hesitate to ruin you…" Julian left with Mattie.
Astrid fell to the ground, no crying, her hands moving to her chest, "Mu… Mum.." she whispered, "I… I almost died."
Miles strides toward her, placing a towel on her, "Why pull her into the pool? If you are scared of yourself?" Miles asked, Astrid gripped his hands.
"I… can't see clearly" she admitted and Miles was stunned and crouched in front of her.
"What do you mean?"
"My contact fell off when I was in the pool, please help me to the room," she explained.
Miles, still flabbergasted by her confession, helped her up, gently guiding her back into the mansion.
"Hey, why are you this cold?" Ma'am Sophie was about to touch Astrid but she shifted back.
"Pl… please.." her voice trembling, out of the cold.
"Go change quickly," Ma'am Sophie suggested.
Miles helped her upstairs but didn't know which room was hers.
"The one opposed to the master bedroom?" Astrid answered noticing the way he had stopped and he helped her into it.
He helped her sit on the small couch, "What can I help you with?"
"My contact is on the dressing table," he quickly went to it and got her the contact he saw there.
The moment Astrid put it on she could see clearly and a smile spread on her face.
She had brought her contacts, in case situations like this happened, her contacts were always with her, no matter where she went she had only left them in the room since she was at home.
Her glass is also not with her because she didn't get the chance to pack her things.
"Thanks a lot," she appreciates not knowing what she would have if he wasn't here with her.
"I need to change… so I don't get sick.." Miles nodded at this and left
Astrid sighed and walked toward the mirror, staring at her reflection.
She sighed and changed her dress. She was still drying her hair when she heard a knock on the door.
"Come in," she answered, wiping off the small tears slipping away, she turned back to see it was Miles.
"Hey… I just wanted to know if you are fine," he asked, out of concern.
He had waited outside her room so he could make sure she was fine before he left.
She gave a small nod but Miles wasn't satisfied with this.
He could tell something was wrong, "She pushed you into the pool didn't she?"
"Please do tell this Julian. He won't be happy.." Miles sneered and took a long stride toward her.
"You can tell me anything I promise I wouldn't disclose to him," he stretched out his hands for a handshake.
"It's a promise between friends.." Astrid stared down at his hands.
"Friends? You are making me a friend?" She asked to be sure, she had never had one before and she didn't know how to make one.
"Yeah. Is there something wrong with that?" she shook her head immediately.
"I have never had one so I was caught in surprise," Miles sighed at the girl before him, for a weird reason he wanted to be close to her.
He hardly talks with females, he always tagged them to be after his money.
He doesn't act nice to them, always distant, goofy, and cold when he is around them.
"Then I am going to be one," he stated, Astrid smiled and shook his hands.
"Yeah, friends.." she smiled out.
"Now tell me what happened in the pool," Miles said with a bit of seriousness.
Astrid explained it to him and this pissed Miles off. He had never liked Mattie but needed to accept her because of his friend.
She would always act bitchy with other people and act like an innocent bitch when she is close to Julian.
The crazy love he had for her already blinded his eye so he couldn't see her downside.
"Now you know how crazy she can be so don't go close to her," Astrid smiled at this and nodded her head.
"Thanks… I won't…" she whispered, the first time someone cared about her, and she felt oddly satisfied.
