The next morning Astrid's eyes fluttered open and she could feel her body was a bit agile.
She sat right on the bed but her vision was still so bad from the room.
She sighed with a deep thought about how she would get a new contact and also walk out of the room.
The door pushed open and she immediately reached out to the person.
Then call the first person that had come to her mind, "Miles… are you the one?"
Julian who had stood by the door squinted his gaze irritated at the thought the person she would think would come check up on her first was Miles.
"I took care of you last night and yet you want another man coming to check up on you," Julian stated as he drew closer to her.
A shiver ran down her spine as she noticed how close Julian was now, "I am…" Astrid felt him placing his finger on her lips indicating for her to shut her mouth.
"You don't know how much I hate that word," he stated and then leaned closer.
"Get ready, we are going out." The thought of the both of them going out didn't sit right with her.
"Both of us? But…"
"I told both of us to stop asking me silly questions so as not to annoy me," Julian warned and then carried her from the bed.
This came as a shock to her, making her get startled, "Your vision is so bad, so I need to help you to the bathroom." He defended himself.
He dropped her in the bathtub and helped her with her toothbrush, "You need anything more"
Astrid's breath hitched and then shook her head in decline, "Call me when you need or you are done so I can help you."
"Thanks.." she replied.
Julian's lip compressed, suppressing a retort, and walked out to sit in her room.
His lip curled, slightly amused at the thought of how he had sneaked out of the room in the middle of the night when he was sure she was fully asleep.
There was a knock on the door and then he asked the person to come in.
The moment he saw Miles walking inside he almost flipped out on him. Julian had come early knowing he would be here first if he didn't.
"What is your problem with coming here?" a soft uninterested sigh escaped Miles's lips and sat on the bed and leaned on Julian's shoulder. He was suffering from a hangover
"How did we get home?" Julian pushed him away, still annoyed at the fact that he was getting closer to her.
"I drove back home. Why dress up this early and come into her room?" Julian asked, still irritated.
"Relax, Ma'am Sophie told me I would see you here, I need to go back to the States." This piqued his interest immediately.
"Why?"
"I am needed in the office, my assistant has just called for an important meeting. You are in for your honeymoon, I don't think you would be needed physically."
Julian's lip curled disdainfully. He had probably scheduled this time before his marriage.
Mattie always complained about him being a workaholic so he cleared out a whole week and had made a warning never to be called from the office.
At the thought of it, he felt guilty. What was he doing? He should be trying to pacify Mattie, why the heck is he here helping a stranger when he should be with her instead?
"When are you leaving?" he implored.
"My flight leaves in an hour, don't worry I called Stephan here already. He is coming with the next closest flight so your mum doesn't think about anything else."
They both heard something falling in the bathroom and were so worried.
"Hey! Are you okay?" They both asked at once worriedly. There was no response and they moved toward the bathroom door knocking on it.
"I am fine," Astrid answered after much knock from them.
"Then fucking say something and stop getting us worried," A flicker of irritation crossed Astrid's face.
"Then call me Ma'am Sophie! And stop standing there like a perv!" she yelled in irritation, surprising both men.
They exchange glances until it dawns on them, "Oh. She will be here soon." Julian answered and then pulled Miles out of her room.
He could tell how irritated she was through her voice. They Got to the living room to see Mattie eating alone in the living room.
"Ma'am Sophie, she needs your help." Julian notified her and noticed how Mattie wasn't even looking his way.
"Alright," she answers, leaving for Astrid's room now leaving the trio.
"Hey.." Mattie slapped his hands off before he could touch her, "Go be with her, and get the fuck outta my life," she remarked rudely.
Miles bit into his apple with a small smile seeing the irritation on her face.
"I.."
"You know what? I don't know you anymore… we are to be married. Some fucking girl ruined it and you still went into her room to do what exactly?
"Her eyes are bad… she needs help," Julian defended and she laughed out sardonically.
"Seriously?" Her face twisted in disdain and slammed her fork on the plate.
"I lost my appetite already just thinking about it," She stormed off.
"Not going after her?" Miles asked and a glare from Julian shut him off.
"I am wrong on this, fooling her will make things worse, I should give her some time."
"Dude…" he called, understanding the next word Julian glared at him.
"Stop trying to fool yourself though," A few minutes later Sophie and Astrid walked down the staircase.
"Hey… friend.." Astrid smiled at this trying to follow his direction, she has a lot of regrets now not having her eye contact.
Being treated like a blind girl when she could see with contact wasn't on her bucket list for the month.
"Hey, I will be traveling back to the States today, going to miss me?"
The smile on her face disappeared and the thought of not having Miles with them anymore made her scared.
"I would miss you," she murmured and Miles felt sad at this, he didn't want to leave just a word she had let out.
While Julian's face twisted in anger.
"I would too, but you need to spend your honeymoon with your husband," he teased, earning a twisted face contorted in rage.
"Well… maybe if I am here she wouldn't miss you that much," an unfamiliar voice announced, making them all turn in his direction.
"Stephan?" Both lads were shocked, as to how fast he had arrived when Miles had just reached out to him in the morning.
"Hey, my pals… I miss you both.." he announced running toward them and embracing them tightly.
