The morning sun bathed the Azure Domain in golden light, its brilliance illuminating the grand palaces and soaring peaks that dotted the landscape. The natural beauty of the realm was unrivaled: towering mountains blanketed in a sea of mist, emerald forests that stretched to the horizon, and rivers sparkling like sapphire veins coursing through the land. Waterfalls thundered from unseen heights, their silver cascades blending harmoniously with the lush terrain, all under a vast sky that shimmered a deep azure, as if the heavens themselves favored this domain.
In the skies, Yang Feng soared on the back of his magnificent Qi eagle. The beast, though conjured entirely from his own Qi energy, had the grace and power of any living creature. Its feathers were made of pure silver light, each beat of its wings sending ripples of energy through the air, trailing luminous tendrils behind them. The ability to create such constructs was a simple feat for someone of his level—"Qi Zun"—but Yang Feng had never taken it for granted. He allowed himself a rare moment of peace, feeling the wind rush past him, his long black hair flowing behind him like the tail of a comet. His ears easily picking up the distant sounds of life from far below.
With the sun warming his face, Yang Feng smiled faintly. The freedom of the skies, the crisp air filling his lungs, the weightless joy of flight—these were pleasures few could understand. For a brief moment, he allowed the tension in his body to ease, closing his eyes and inhaling deeply as the wind caressed his face. He had seen the vastness of the realms countless times, yet it never failed to inspire awe within him.
"Enjoying yourself, aren't you?" came a voice from behind, cutting through the tranquil silence.
Yang Feng opened his eyes, his expression returning to its usual calm as he glanced over his shoulder. Ling Bing, riding a real eagle of flesh and feathers, approached him, the bird's wings cutting through the air with powerful strokes. The eagle was a magnificent creature, its feathers glinting in the sunlight like polished bronze, but next to Yang Feng's Qi construct, it appeared almost ordinary.
"You're early for once," Ling Bing said with a grin, his voice carrying an amused edge.
Yang Feng did not respond, instead turning his gaze back to the horizon. He knew Ling Bing well enough to recognize the teasing tone, but today was no ordinary day. Today was the start of the "Hundred-Year Hunting Competition", the event that would once again pit him against his eternal rival—the Celestial Beauty.
Ling Bing noticed the shift in Yang Feng's demeanor and chuckled softly. "Always so serious. Lighten up, we're going to be the stars of the day, aren't we?"
Yang Feng remained silent, his thoughts distant. He had prepared for this day since his the start of the century, every step of his journey leading back to this moment. The competition wasn't just a test of strength; it was a stage for the strongest to prove their dominance, to remind the realm who truly ruled the skies. And he would not allow anyone, not even the Celestials, to claim what rightfully belonged to the Immortals.
Ling Bing, sensing the tension, pointed ahead. "There it is. The arena."
In the distance, nestled among the mountains, the grand arena of the Azure Domain came into view. It was a massive structure, circular and imposing, its walls rising like a fortress from the earth. The architecture was ancient, with massive stone blocks engraved with runes of power that shimmered faintly in the morning light. Inside, thousands of spectators gathered, their voices a dull roar even from this distance. The stands stretched endlessly, filled with members of every clan from the upper realms—Immortals, Celestials, Spectrals, and more. Their colors blended together, creating a vibrant sea of anticipation.
At the center of the arena stood the focal point of the competition—a massive stone gate, covered in intricate sigils and ancient symbols. This was the gate to the hunting grounds, the doorway through which all competitors would pass. Only the strongest, the most capable, would emerge victorious.
Yang Feng narrowed his eyes, feeling a surge of energy within him. "It's time."
Without warning, he leaped from the back of his Qi eagle. The wind rushed past him as he free-fell for a moment, the ground rapidly approaching. Then, with a crack of lightning, he summoned his power. Bright blue lightning surged around him, and for a split second, he hovered in the air, suspended by the raw energy crackling around his body. The Qi eagle dissipated above him in a burst of radiant sparks, dissolving back into the ether as if it had never existed.
Suddenly a huge blue lightning and great thunder clouds covered the blue sky.The thunder commanding precens, almost as if the heavens were screaming.Yang Feng descended slowly, carried by the lightning beneath his feet. The crowd below gasped, eyes widening as they watched their star float gently toward the ground, his arrival as awe-inspiring as the legends foretold. His boots touched the arena floor with the sound of thunder, a flash of blue light marking his arrival. The spectators erupted in cheers, their voices a deafening roar that echoed through the mountains.
"Yang Feng! Yang Feng! The Prince of the Immortals!,The thunder emperor."
He stood tall, his silver-embroidered robes fluttering in the charged air. His gaze was calm, almost detached, as he scanned the crowd. The Immortals were on his right, where the Immortal Queen sat on her elevated throne, her regal presence commanding attention even in the midst of such a spectacle. Yang Feng bowed his head slightly in acknowledgment of his queen mother before his attention shifted.
On the left, descending gracefully from the skies, was his rival.
She appeared like a vision from a dream, her pink hair flowing in soft waves around her, her light brown eyes sharp and calculating. She was not riding a Qi construct but instead descended under her own power. As her feet touched the ground, a pulse of energy rippled through the arena. Her gravity powers weighed on the crowd, pressing down on them as if the very heavens were descending. The air grew heavy, and the ground trembled beneath her, forcing even the strongest to feel the immense power she wielded.
The crowd, once cheering for Yang Feng, now gasped in awe and fear. "The Celestial Beauty! The Warrior Goddess!"
Her beauty was unmatched, but it was her strength that silenced them all. Her presence alone sent waves of tension through the arena, and as she stood across from Yang Feng, their gazes locked in a fierce, unspoken battle. The connection between them was electric, charged with years of rivalry, hatred, and respect.
Yang Feng's eyes narrowed. He remembered that gazing like that was impolite and both looked away. Both in sync when they did it, the crowd felt great anticipation. In a battle of power both were tied. Both were the descendants of the Qi- gods and both inherited their absolute powers. However if they used their powers the competition wouldn't be competitive anymore.
This caused great problems for the realm king and domain rulers, thus they decided to use the ancient god runes used for training. These great runes were made of special ancient stones that could dampen the qi of even a Qi-god to a Qi -zun.Yet Yang feng had nothing of fear in his eyes.He had won this competition for the last 100 centuries and emerged victorious.
Suddenly without a word, they both turned their attention to the raised platform where the "Realm King"stood. He was dressed in flowing green robes, adorned with golden embroidery that shimmered in the sunlight. Around him sat the Domain Rulers, each one a figure of immense power and influence. But even they bowed their heads in deference to the Realm King.
He raised his hand, and the arena fell silent, the weight of his authority palpable. The tension in the air was so thick it felt as if time itself had stopped, everyone waiting for his next words.
"The competition," the Realm King declared, his voice booming across the arena, "officially begins!"
As his words echoed in the silence, the stage was set.Everyone knew what was to come next and each competitor was feeling great fear and anxiety.Al except The immortal prince and The Warrior goddess. Both smiled lightly as they turned back and looked at the huge stone door in the middle of the arena.
The graceful blew over the azure domain as the bright shone. What was to become of the competition only the Qi-gods could take a guess.
