Chapter nine - Sending a message.
Catherine watched as William and the strange woman buried themselves passionately in a kiss. Her heart ached with pain, feeling like she had just been slapped on the face or stabbed in the heart with a sharp two blade sword.
Fed up with the seen before her, she immediately ran off to the bathroom downstairs and slammed the door not caring whether she drew their attention or not.
She tried hard to hold in her tears, so it wouldn't be obvious that she was pained by William's actions. She gripped onto the sink, looking herself in the mirror and poured out her tears. She was immediately reminded once again on the reason why she never wanted any of this.
The reason why she never wanted to end up with William. "Last time I checked, William doesn't even speak to me in a respectful tone. Why did I even agree to this in the first place...?" Her soliloquizing voice broke.
What a marriage; a marriage she had to pretend while her husband did all he wanted.
She looked at her reflection in the mirror and and wiped her tears, she turned on the tap and used the water to rinse the tears off. "William Bentley isn't worth a drop of my tears." She said with a stern voice.
With a clenched fist, she decided to go far away from, just far where she wouldn't see them. Unfortunately, getting upstairs and into the room again, they hadn't minded if she had seen them in that state, they were still on to each other, so tightly.
The woman whom William's hands were wrapped around her waist gently pulled herself away from William and turned to face Catherine is who made her way pass them.
"Excuse me, William? Who the fuck is she? Babe who's this bitch?!" Vanessa asked, obviously taunting Catherine, not hiding the irritation in her voice.
William grabbed her arm trying to stop her from making a scene. "Babe, just let her be, trust me she's not worth your time, she's not worth hearing you're beautiful voice please." William whispered to Vanessa.
"Babe, is this what you're dealing with here?" Vanessa whispered to him, glancing at Catherine and stood, moving away from William.
Catherine ignored her and continued to gather a few of her clothes. Vanessa angrily pulled away from William's grip. While Catherine carried her bags and was about to leave, Vanessa immediately bummed into her.
"Ouch! What is wrong with you ? Can't you see?! Do you want to injure my feet?!" Vanessa yelled and groaned angrily at Catherine.
"I . . . I didn't do anything!--" Catherine defended retorted.
"Catherine what is wrong with you?! Why are you so aggressive? Fucking apologize to her! You're so disrespectful. I don't even have the energy to deal with your bad behavior. You're just trying to draw attention to yourself. You're just so desperate. Well, let me tell you something, I will never have even the slightest admiration for you, so stop trying to show yourself." William interupted.
William's words were hurtful and painful. Catherine was so speechless. She hated herself even more for bringing herself into this situation. She swallowed down all the mean words she was about to spit at William. She clenched her fists tightly, narrowed her eyes at both of them and deciding it was best to ignore this stupid set of people and stormed out of the room angrily with her bag.
"And where does she think she's going with her bags?" William scoffed and went after her.
"With her bags?!" William asked again and suddenly realized Catherine was with her bags when she stormed out of the room. Vanessa relaxed on the couch waiting for William to fall back into her hands, but she was stunned when he immediately stormed out of the room going after Catherine.
"Babe?!" She yelled as she sprung off the couch. William ran down the stairs to catch up with Catherine. As Catherine was about to unlock the door she felt someone pull her away from the door.
"What the fuc--?!"" Catherine murmured to herself only to turn around and see William. "What--" before she could speak he immediately interupted her again.
"Where do you think you're going?!" William widened his eyes as he spoke.
"William, I don't think that should be of any concern to you."
"What do you mean?! I see your sole aim is too ruin my reputation." William said furiously. While William was still speaking with Catherine, Vanessa slowly came down the stairs to meet William, when she saw him holding Catherine's arm and saying something to her.
William's actions really made Vanessa's heart boil with anger and hatred for Catherine. She couldn't hear what they were saying but it sounded like William was seriously pleading with Catherine over something.
The first thing that came to her mind was that he was apologizing to her for the way she talked to her. Vanessa immediately jumped into conclusion and transferred her anger to William.
"You do know that if anything happens to you, I'll be the first to be blamed. I thought you were smart Catherine. I guess you're just even more dumber than I thought. What is wrong with you?!"
"Look William, at this point, I don't even care less about how you feel. Please let me be. I just don't want to be here." Catherine said.
"What even makes you think that how you feel matters?! Catherine I don't want to hear it. You had better return those bags and go sit down somewhere else. You really think I'll let you walk into my life and taint my reputation. Not at all. Respect me and even yourself."
Catherine shot daggers at William. She was fighting the urge to punch him in the face but she held herself back and suppressed her emotions. The moment she turned around to return her things back into the bedroom, Vanessa immediately hurried upstairs angrily.
She grabbed her bag and stormed down the stairs. She met Catherine in the corridor on her way to the same bedroom, and glared at her with irritation in her eyes and walked right pass her without saying anything to her.
William was ascending the stairs to go meet Vanessa, when he saw her hurrying down with her bag in her hand. She walked right past him without saying a word. He was very confused at her actions. He turned around and grabbed her arm and then stood infront of her.
"Babe, where are you--?"
"Don't talk to me William! Get out of my way!" She interupted him. She tried to walk past him by moving to his left, but he blocked her way agajn by moving towards that direction.
"William, getout of my way!" Vanessa yelled unable to hide the fumes in her eyes.
William saw that she was very angry but he wasn't really sure why. He left her way gently and she walked away from her. She hit his shoulders as she walked away from him. She angrily hopped into her car and as she set the car in motion she started, "Who does Catherine or whatever she calls herself think she is? She's going to regret this! She better watch out for what's coming at her! I'm going to deal with her and she had better be ready to face my wrath." Vanessa declared.
