Chapter 16 - Ch 16 - Choosing Our Electives

[Adrian: What electives are you guys choosing?]

[Ari: Speramknshiop mman cturntl ruen mhaigjc cokojgin nadn relam crejaiton]

[Loki Laufey: Has it gotten worse?]

[Maria: Possibly? I chose mana mastery, illusion magic, elemental magic, potion-making, and realm creation.]

[Eric: What should I choose?]

I looked towards my small phone; they were obviously talking about the electives they wanted.

'A privilege of Class S is that you get to be first in line for electives. Realm Creation is an incredibly popular class because of its teacher and I'm no different either.'

I pondered my choices as you were required to take 4 electives and one extra class.

'What should I pick as my extra class? I'll choose mana mastery, rune magic, spearmanship, and lastly realm creation. I just noticed all of these classes are shared with Aria.'

I stretched my arms up in the air, I quickly jotted down the electives I chose and decided to make my way towards the main building.

*********

"Adrian! Why didn't you take potion-making with me?"

I could see Maria yelling at Adrian up ahead, truly a punishment worse than death.

I wanted to just quickly slide past them, but I caught Adrian's attention while walking by.

"Alex, what did you pick for your electives?"

I simply showed him the papers I had in my hand showing the electives I signed up for.

I could see a familiar dark-haired heroine peeking out behind Adrian.

"Alex! Want to train with me?"

"Fine fine, but before that let me turn these papers in."

I walked into the main entrance leaving the commotion that was my friend group behind.

I waved to the receptionist and simply gave her my papers before heading back to Aria.

Aria, Adrian, and Maria had all just turned their papers in, but were still for some reason standing outside the main building.

"Let's go."

I quickly stretched by arms and legs preparing to get thoroughly beaten.

*********

The sound of metal clanging could be heard throughout the training hall as if someone was forging a blade in there.

Sparks flew as two figures could be seen swing their spears incredibly fast compared to other's standards, but...

"You're slow, Alex. Keep up!"

Aria shouted, her movements and slashes getter faster and faster.

She then grabbed her spear with both hands and yanked my spear over her shoulder using the crevice of her spearhead.

A show of her completely monstrous strength.

I backed off after losing my spear; countless thoughts ran through my head.

'Her monstrous strength and superhuman movements allow her to pull off crazy techniques.'

Her mastery over the spear was transparent as she dashed towards me once again.

I opened my right eye allowing it to glow with a bright green hue this time I kept it open for a couple more seconds.

'I've learnt that I shouldn't be rash with my skill directly from some white-haired freak.'

Nova made me learn my foresight could be easily predicted and countered.

'I can see it! Her battle iq might be crazy good, but she doesn't fully see through this skill of mine'`

I side stepped out the way of the incoming spear aimed towards my shoulder.

"1st Art: Land of the Shadows"

I could feel a chill run down my spine as she spoke in a soft voice just like in the ranking examinations.

She completely disappeared; I reopened my eye, an attempt to predict her next attack.

'A horizontal slash from the top right.'

"1st Art: Call of Thunder"

'Though this art allows me to infuse thunder into weapons. I can use its raw form as a way to intensify my strikes.'

I raised both of my hands using my palms to strike her squarely in the stomach as she appeared above me.

I reopened my eye for a moment and made a dash towards my spear attempting to grab it.

"2nd Art: Shadow's Rising"

'My foresight can only see into the future for as long as I open my eye so a continuous attack can easily counter it. I need the be careful.'

Two loud thuds rang throughout the room and cracking sounds could be slightly heard.

While the first strike was easily dodged; the second and third were a direct hit.

Each harshly impacted into my frame, I could even feel my ribs breaking a little.

"You good?"

"Yeah, I think you almost broke my rib though."

I weakly said as I began coughing while holding my poor ribcage.

'Boy...'

A melodious voice rang in my head.

'What up, gramps?'

'Your weak.'

"Ah."

I didn't know how to respond to Odin's remark leaving me stunned for a moment.

'I'll teach you something later.'

'What is it?'

'I'll explain more later, be patient for now.'

"Alex? What did you pick for your extra class?"

'I spent most of last night thinking about that exact question,

but I wanted just one in particular.'

"Myth, Legends, Fables, and History."

A relatively unpopular class at Incarnation Academy.

'I really want to see and explore all these stories that were just legends in my world. Now that they're real I feel like they have a novelty of some sort.'

I steadied my resolve as I'd need it for those long history lectures.

'I want to be prepared for all the challenges to come and especially what lies at the end of this novel.'
