"what now!" From six trees these spikes were shot towards us and luckily we still had my aqua shield, out of the six only one spike bounced back to one tree meaning it was the only real one. Something amazing happened though, right before the spike hit the tree a shadow that somehow someway was one with the tree extracted itself out of the tree and disappeared to another tree
I had to cancel my aqua shield or else I'd be drained out of mana , atleast we have an idea on what we're dealing with. " Blendororas ! They are weak when alone but strong in numbers. The only way to kill them is for one of us to be targeting the trees and the other has to target them " said Zara with a grave expression and both hands were out of his pockets making me guess he is getting serious.
" I'll deal with the trees and you make sure to kill them" he nodded agreeing with my decision. " Dark magic, dark desire circles" he casted more than 10 dark circles with spinning symbols, I wasn't going tostay idle. I fired four water blasts at three nearby trees that I was confident they might be some who blended there. Right before my water blasts landed six shadows jumped out of these trees I had aimed at and Zara sent six of his circles towards these shadows.
I could tell that it was a bit of a challenge cause they were fast and smaller than his circles that were the size of a palm , he only manage to get one and missed the others who blended with the trees. We tried three times only managing to get only two out of the more nine that was left. I could see what they were doing, they were no longer attacking and a normal person would think that they're now scared but they're just stalling. They want us to continue with this chase until we run out of energy and when that happens that's how they'll leave us in the same state as those wounded beasts we encountered.
Im impressed but this has to end, I created five wind blasts on my left hand and created four ice slashes. I fired the wind blasts towards the trees and they jumped out of those trees and Zara got one with his dark circle but I wasn't done. Just as they were about to blend in other trees I had already thrown my ice slashes towards those trees causing them to blend to a tree that got attacked quickly by my ice slashes. It is as I suspected, If whatever they blend with gets damaged while they are still in it they'll receive the same damage so four shadows fell on the ground unmoving.
Only five were left and I was already running out of energy " let's do it one more time to kill these creatures already" said Zara casting sevenore if his dark circles on top of the five he had left. I fired the five water blasts and they're predictable action happened, they jumped out of the tree and I paid close attention to the trees that they were going to go to while Zara sent all of his 12 circles that managed to get three and I was able to finish the last two with my ice slashes by predicting the tree they were going to blend with. Seeing that we were done and I had killed them all I fell on my butt feeling very exhausted.
Zara did the same and even though I wasn't looking at him I could feel his stare, " you're a very powerful mage Claudia, I couldn't do or perform to that feat when I was in level 2" I was surprised to hear his praise. " Thanks , you're also great with your magic and we make a pretty great team" ,he laughed while nodding his head " we do don't we" . He grabbed his backpack from his back and reached his hand inside it and it came out with two green looking potions. He threw one to me and after seeing him gulp his I did the same. The potion managed to restore my energy in seconds making me wonder how much did it cost.
We carved out the mana stones from all the Blendororas who's appearance I imprinted on my brain. The round shaped body with hairy legs and arms, no head at all just a round middle part of the body that didn't have hair was just pure grey flesh. Very weird. After being done with collecting we continued, the sun was already up and it was now mid day. We had started very early and it's disappointing that not a single inferno boar has been found and we've been following the crystal for quite some time now.
" Are you sure that thing is working " I'm sorry but I had to ask " I know it works, this is not the first time I'm using it and this is how it's like when you're a hunter . You won't always get the animal you're looking for" I felt somewhat angry cause his words made me feel like I had just acted like some rich brat which I don't want that at all. I just have to be patient and we'll reach to where the are plenty of infernos.
We continued walking in silence, even though Zara had lectured me he looked very stressed but then he suddenly stopped causing my heart to drop. I hope it's not another beast. His face stretched to a smile " what we came for Is on its way" very quickly the sound of something running with strong feet was heard coming this way. I wanted to cry when I saw three boars with huge red tusks and muscles all over their body coming for us with a clear intent.
" I was born with heaven defying luck , I already have three inferno boars in my bag" said Zara looking like a child seeing a bag of sweets. "Quickly kill it with your water blasts or something " what did he say? " What are the-?" I wasn't able to finish my sentence when I felt a sharp piercing pain on my leg. Looking down it was a red horn that had pierced my leg and blood was flowing like a waterfall. The boars were glowing a faint red colour, red eyes and red tusks glowing painting an evil image. The three of them opened their mouths and palms size fireballs were fired towards us and we didn't react fast enough causing us to be flown away and crash on the ground. More fireballs were already on us and I barely created my aqua shield to protect us while feeling different kinds of pain from my leg and parts were I was burnt by the fireballs. Zara's arm was very wounded and he also had scary looking burns but his face didn't show pain. He looked furious instead.
I only had two urgent thoughts in my mind. If we don't get up and run we're going to die and the most important one is "What exactly did I get myself into!". I could still hear them coming, sadly I couldn't do anything else than try to protect us with my aqua shield. One fireball from them will destroy my shield so I'm only hoping that Zara has something up his sleeve.
