Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Dangerous Desires

{Liam's P.O.V}

I immediately blocked the door, not wanting Serena to witness this heart-wrenching scene. Yes, I knew Serena was strong—she had always been independent, wise. So lovable, wasn't she?

But I didn't want her to be hurt, not even a little. Regardless of who was inside, why did it have to be Mia, whom Serena loved like a sister?

Serena eyed me suspiciously. "What's going on? Who's in there?" she asked, trying to push past me. I stood firm.

"Liam," she said seriously, "I have the right to know what's happening. No matter who's inside, I'm ready."

My heart ached, an overwhelming sense of helplessness washing over me. "It's Mia," I confessed. I could never refuse Serena's requests, even if it tore me apart.

The room was filled with the sounds of their lovemaking—her whimpers and gasps, his deep groans, the creaking of the bed. Each sound was a knife, twisting deeper into Serena's gut. As I watched her, she stood utterly still, as if her soul had left her body. An eerie calm seemed to settle over her, her eyes distant and detached, observing the scene from somewhere far away.

Their movements quickened, the woman gasping louder, her cries becoming more urgent. His breathing deepened, the telltale signs of his approaching climax. I knew that in a few moments, they would be done.

Seeing the two of them like that, I couldn't help but feel a surge of protectiveness and sorrow for Serena. She had given so much of herself to Mia, and this was how she was repaid. The bond they had shared, the trust and affection Serena had shown, now lay in tatters. My own wolf bristled, sharing in the sense of betrayal and anger that coursed through me. But I held back, waiting for Serena's lead, knowing she needed to handle this in her own way.

Taking a deep breath, Serena stepped fully into the doorway, and without a hint of emotion, she knocked on the doorframe. The sharp sound was like a bomb going off, sharp and jarring. The couple froze, turning to face her with expressions of shock and horror. Mia scrambled to cover herself, her face flushing crimson, while Gabriel's eyes widened, guilt and fear flickering across his face.

For a moment, there was only the sound of their frantic breathing. Then, he found his voice. "What... what are you doing here?" His voice was hoarse, panicked. The woman beside him looked equally terrified, clutching the sheet to her chest, her eyes darting between Serena and the door.

Serena met his gaze, holding it steady. "I live here, remember?" Her voice was cool, almost detached. "But don't worry, I'll wait until you're finished." She glanced at Mia, giving her a polite, almost kind smile. "Take your time."

"Serena, I—" Gabriel started, but she silenced him with a raised hand. Her voice was cold, barely containing the fury beneath. "No need for explanations, Gabriel. Just finish up. I'll wait outside."

The room fell into an awkward silence, broken only by the rustling of sheets as they tried to cover themselves. I watched as Serena turned away, walking back down the hallway, her footsteps measured and deliberate.

Reaching the living room, she sat down on the couch, her hands folded neatly in her lap, staring at the blank TV screen.

{Gabriel's P.O.V}

I had always harbored a deep-seated resentment for Serena. She reminded me too much of my elder brother—serious, intelligent, and unwaveringly composed to the point of being insufferable. Sure, she had a body that could make any male wolf lose his mind, and I had bedded enough she-wolves to recognize her unparalleled allure. But that allure was just a mask for the cold, calculating person underneath. Serena was always too perfect, too controlled, and her constant air of superiority grated on my nerves. I couldn't stand her holier-than-thou attitude, her need to control everything and everyone around her. Despite her charms, she was a constant reminder of everything I despised.

My wolf, Fenrir , however, didn't share my disdain. Fenrir was always thrilled by her presence, always yearning for her in ways I didn't want to acknowledge. My wolf was ecstatic because of her, constantly drawn to her strength and grace. But I didn't care about Fenrir's desires. I hated seeing Serena's calm, unflappable demeanor. It always made me feel like she didn't love me at all. That's why I wanted to make her jealous, to see her suffer for me. I relished her moments of pain; it always brought me a twisted sense of satisfaction, making me feel powerful and in control, if only for a little while.

This time, my prey was Mia, my Beta Liam's girlfriend, the sweet girl Serena treated like a sister.

Sure, it could be troublesome if Liam found out, but I didn't care for him anyway. In fact, the thought of his reaction amused me even more.

She was the perfect target to rile Serena up, to see that composed mask slip just a little. Usually, I didn't need to put much effort into seducing women. With my noble status, striking looks, and muscular build, a simple crook of my finger was enough to have them flocking to me. But Mia was different. Her close relationship with Serena made her a special case. For her, I was willing to invest some time, play a few little games. She seemed so innocent and sweet, didn't she?

Serena had strategically placed Mia as my secretary. I knew exactly what she was trying to do. Serena couldn't bear to be away from me, so she used Mia to keep tabs on me, to monitor my every move. She loved me in her twisted way, preferring the torment of jealousy over losing me completely. At first, I toyed with Mia by openly flirting with other women in her presence. I knew she would run back to Serena and report everything. It was perfect. But over time, that wasn't enough. Serena never confronted me about Mia's reports. So, if mere flirting didn't provoke her, what if I actually slept with Mia?

The seduction began subtly. I would catch Mia's eye during office meetings, holding her gaze a fraction longer than necessary, offering her smiles that were just a bit too warm. She would blush and look away, unsure but intrigued. When Serena wasn't around, I would find reasons to be near Mia, brushing against her accidentally-on-purpose, complimenting her in ways that made her light up.

One evening, I found her in the office, diligently working on some documents. I leaned against the doorway, watching her for a moment before speaking. "Those documents must be fascinating," I said, my voice smooth.

She looked up, startled, and then smiled shyly. "Just catching up on some work."

I walked over, taking the seat next to her. "I admire your dedication," I said, leaning in slightly. "Maybe you can tell me more about it sometime?"

Mia blushed, nodding. "Sure, I'd like that."

As she began to describe her work, I leaned closer, our shoulders brushing. My voice was soft and full of enthusiasm, but inside, I was cold and calculating. I let my fingers graze her hand, the touch light and lingering. "You know, I've always admired how sweet and kind you are, Mia," I murmured, my voice low and intimate. "It's refreshing."

Her blush deepened, and she looked down at the documents, clearly flustered. "Thank you, Gabriel," she said softly.

I lifted her chin gently, making her meet my eyes. "You do more than that, Mia. You bring light to everyone around you."

Inside, I was almost laughing at how easily she was falling for it. Playing this game was second nature to me. I could read her emotions like an open book—her hesitation, her desire, her guilt. It was all too easy.

The tension between us was palpable, the air thick with unspoken words. She was on the brink, torn between her loyalty to Serena and the growing attraction between us. I knew it was only a matter of time before she gave in.

Finally, today, the tension reached its breaking point. Serena's schedule was packed with meetings, and she wasn't supposed to be home until late evening.

As I stood in the office hallway with Mia, I felt a surge of boldness.

Mia glanced up at me, her eyes wide and uncertain. "Gabriel, are you sure about this?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.

I took a step closer, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Serena won't be back for hours," I said, my voice low and confident, each word like a caress. "We have plenty of time."

Mia bit her lip, still hesitating. "I just... I don't want to get caught. I've always seen Serena as a sister, and we're so close..."

"Trust me," I murmured, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. My voice dropped to a low, seductive tone, rich and comforting. "We won't."

Her resolve crumbled at my touch, and she nodded, a mix of nervousness and eagerness in her eyes. "Alright," she agreed, her voice soft. "But, can't we just stay in the office like before?"

I smiled, leaning in closer. "It's fine, Mia. Serena's tied up with meetings today. She won't be home for hours."

Inside,I couldn't help but fantasize about how Serena would react if she saw us like this. The thought of her storming in, her calm demeanor finally shattered, sent a thrill through me. I wanted her to see, to feel the jealousy and pain. It was always like this—I wanted to see her hurt, to know that she wasn't as unflappable as she seemed.
