Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Crumbling Facades

{Gabriel's P.O.V}

We made our way to my house, our movements hurried and filled with anticipation. As soon as we stepped inside, I couldn't hold back any longer. I pulled Mia into a passionate kiss, my hands exploring her with a desperation that had been building for too long.

Mia's body responded to my touch, her breath hitching as I kissed her neck. She melted into me, her body soft and pliant, yielding to my every touch. She was so different from Serena—softer, more yielding. I relished the contrast, the way she trembled under my hands, her breaths coming in quick, shallow gasps. Yet, for some reason, this softness made me both happy and dissatisfied. For a moment, I felt a twinge of discontent, realizing that after all the time I had spent seducing Mia, she was just like all the other she-wolves I'd conquered.

Clothes were discarded hastily, left in a trail leading to the bedroom. Her eyes were half-closed, her lips slightly parted as she let out a soft, contented sigh. Her hands gripped my shoulders, pulling me closer, her body arching against mine as my hands roamed her curves. Each kiss, each caress, was a release of the tension that had been building between us for so long.

I stepped back to admire her, my gaze raking over her exposed body. Mia's slender frame contrasted with the muscles rippling under my skin. Her eyes widened as she took in the sight of me, her breath catching when she saw my cock—thick, hard, and ready. It was a sight to behold, a length and girth that promised both pleasure and pain. The anticipation in her eyes sent a thrill through me.

We tumbled onto the bed, the world outside fading away as we lost ourselves in each other. The feel of her soft skin under my hands, the way she gasped and trembled with every touch—it was everything I'd been craving.

I positioned myself between her legs, her body trembling with anticipation. Slowly, I pushed the head of my cock against her entrance, watching as her eyes widened and her breath hitched. "Fuck, Gabriel," she moaned, her hands gripping the sheets. I pushed forward, inch by inch, until I was fully inside her, my cock stretching her tight, wet heat.

Mia gasped, her body arching off the bed as I began to move. Each thrust was deliberate and forceful, hitting deep and hard. "Oh God, Gabriel, yes," she whimpered, her voice rising with each stroke. My muscles tensed and flexed as I pounded into her, my hips driving forward with relentless intensity.

"You're so fucking tight," I groaned, my hands gripping her hips as I thrust harder, deeper. The bed creaked beneath us, the sound mingling with her cries of pleasure. Her body responded to every touch, every thrust, as if she was made for me.

As I continued to thrust into her, my mind couldn't help but conjure the image of Serena walking in on us. I imagined her beautiful face contorting in shock and pain, her eyes filled with disappointment and betrayal. My wolf, Fenrir, disagreed, constantly yearning for her, but I silenced him, focusing on the task at hand.

The thought of Serena suffering, of her losing that calm, unbreakable facade, drove me wild. My thrusts became harder, deeper, fueled by the fantasy of her torment.

"Gabriel, don't stop," Mia begged, her voice breathless and desperate. I watched her come undone beneath me, her face contorted in bliss as I drove her closer to the edge.

"Come for me, Mia," I commanded, my voice rough with desire. "I want to feel you come on my cock."

Her cries grew louder, her body tightening around me as she neared her climax, and I could feel my own release building.

But just as we were about to reach the peak, a sharp knock on the doorframe shattered our world.

Earlier That Day

{Serena's P.O.V}

Stepping into the house, I caught sight of the first clue: a bright red lace bra, lying discarded on the floor just inside the entrance. The sight stopped me in my tracks, but not for the reasons one might think. I had expected this day to come, the moment of reckoning. I had always known it was only a matter of time. The garment was provocative and unfamiliar, starkly contrasting with the usually neat and organized state of our home.

My wolf, Astrid, stirred uneasily within me, its senses sharpening and alert. The bra was clearly not mine, and as I picked it up, I felt a knot form in my stomach, though not from pain or betrayal. Instead, it was from the effort of holding back a laugh. The air inside the house carried faint, unfamiliar scents—perfume, sweat, and something else distinctly female. My wolf's instincts kicked in, picking up on the unsettling atmosphere, but I remained calm, almost amused.

The reason I found the situation almost laughable was rooted in the absurdity of it all.

Gabriel, with his roguish charm and perpetual philandering, had finally been caught red-handed in the most cliché way possible. The bright red bra was like a ridiculous prop in a poorly written drama. I had always known this day would come, had even planned for it, and now that it was here, it felt like the universe had handed me the perfect setup on a silver platter. The irony was too rich to ignore. My indifference towards Gabriel only amplified the humor; his indiscretions were a means to an end for me, a stepping stone in my larger scheme. So, standing there, holding the bra, I was more entertained by the predictability of the situation than hurt by it.

I moved further into the house, noticing the telltale signs of disruption. The living room, which I had tidied meticulously that morning, now looked like a storm had blown through.The kitchen, once spotless, was now a mess. The countertops, which I had wiped down before leaving, were cluttered with dishes and discarded food wrappers. The trash bin was overflowing, adding to the sense of chaos. My wolf growled softly in my mind, but it wasn't the mess that angered me. It was the fact that I had returned too early, depriving them of the chance to clean up and hide their indiscretion.

The realization made me smile.

Yes, yes, I did use to appreciate his face and physique, but that didn't mean I had to tolerate his constant philandering. What puzzled me was that despite his clear disdain for me, he would become unsettled whenever he realized I didn't care about him at all. A strange man, indeed. But no matter. As moral compensation for unknowingly being my stand-in, I would pretend to love him more than anyone else,until I chose to end the game.

I had used Gabriel as a stand-in for the one I truly loved, but over time, I had come to see just how inferior a substitute he was. This was the perfect opportunity to leverage the situation to my advantage. Normally, a Luna would never separate from her Alpha, but this time, I held the moral high ground. Not to mention, this played perfectly into my long-term plans. I could use this to demand a separation, something I had been scheming for all along.I would not arouse any suspicion; the pack would only think I was heartbroken because I loved Gabriel too much.

"Serena," I heard a gentle voice call out, breaking my reverie. Liam, our beta and my trusted friend, stepped closer, his eyes wide with concern. "Are you okay? " His voice trembled with the weight of his worry, clearly hoping that I hadn't lost myself in the chaos around us.

I turned towards him, my smile fading into a bittersweet expression. "It's nothing," I said softly, my voice tinged with a mix of resignation and sorrow. "I'm fine, really."

As I approached the bedroom, my headache intensified, throbbing in sync with the anger rising within me. The closer I got, the stronger the scent of sweat and sex became, overwhelming my heightened senses.

Suddenly,Liam blocked the door swiftly, a move that struck me as unusual. My heart began to sink; whatever was behind that door, Liam believed I wouldn't want to see it.

"What's going on? Who's in there?" I asked, trying to push past him, but he stood firm.

"Liam," I said, my voice growing serious, "I have the right to know what's happening. No matter who's inside, I'm ready."

He hesitated, and I saw the pain in his eyes. My heart ached, sensing the overwhelming sense of helplessness washing over him.

"It's Mia," he confessed. His voice was filled with anguish, and I knew how hard it was for him to tell me this.

A part of me wanted to believe it was a lie, a misunderstanding. Mia, whom I loved like a sister—how could she betray us like this? Poor Liam, having to be the one to break this news to me, still trying to be strong and comfort me. And Gabriel—how shameless could he be, crossing such a line without a shred of decency?

I peered through the gap. Inside, Gabriel, my mate and the Alpha, was with Mia—a young woman I had always treated like a little sister and who happened to be Liam's girlfriend.
