Ryuk Leonheart blinked as he found himself standing in a room bathed in ethereal light. The last thing he remembered was crossing the street, then a sudden, overwhelming honk. Now, he was standing before a figure that exuded an aura of pure divinity.
"Um, hello?" Ryuk ventured, unsure how to address what he suspected might be God.
"Hello, Ryuk," the figure said with a gentle, knowing smile. "We need to talk about how you died."
Ryuk scratched his head, the memory starting to come back. "Yeah, about that… Did I, um, die from getting hit by an ice cream truck?"
God chuckled. "Yes, Ryuk. You were trying to catch your runaway dog, slipped on a banana peel, and then got hit by an ice cream truck."
Ryuk's face turned red. "Wow, that's…embarrassing. I guess there are worse ways to go."
God nodded sympathetically. "Indeed. But your story doesn't end there. I have a special task for you."
Ryuk's eyes widened. "A task? Wait, does that mean I get to be reincarnated?"
"Yes," God said. "You are to be reincarnated into a universe that needs your help. A universe where heroes and villains clash in epic battles."
"Whoa, like in the movies? Are you sending me to Marvel?"
"Precisely," God confirmed. "You will be sent to the Marvel Comics universe, eight months before the Avengers assemble to defend New York against the Chitauri invasion."
Ryuk's jaw dropped. "Are you serious? I mean, that's amazing, but why me? I'm just a regular guy."
God smiled knowingly. "Sometimes, it's the ordinary people who make the most extraordinary differences. You have the heart and spirit needed for this task."
Ryuk took a deep breath, trying to process everything. "Okay, so what do I need to do?"
"You will be given knowledge of future events and the abilities needed to survive in that world," God explained. "Your mission is to help ensure the success of the Avengers and the safety of New York."
Ryuk nodded, determination replacing his earlier embarrassment. "Alright. I won't let you down."
With a wave of God's hand, Ryuk felt a rush of energy and then, everything went dark.

Ryuk woke up in a small apartment, the sounds of New York City bustling outside. He looked in the mirror and saw a new, fitter version of himself staring back.
"Okay, Ryuk," he said to his reflection. "You've got eight months. Time to become a hero."
And so, Ryuk embarked on his journey, training, gathering resources, and making connections. He couldn't wait to meet the Avengers and play his part in saving the world from the impending alien invasion.
Little did he know, his unique perspective and unconventional approach would make him an invaluable ally in the battles to come. After all, who else could say they had divine guidance on their side?
