Chapter 20 - Chapter 20. Cultivation stages.

The moment he stopped tossing on the ground both girls came to see if he was alright.

-Master,are you alright?

They both asked when they approached him.

Their voices and faces were full of concern.

-I will be fine.

Paul answered, his voice hoarse from all the screaming.

The pain was slowly disappearing but what remained was the feeling he had in his legs.

He was extremely happy as this was a feeling that he had longed for ever since he came back in time.

-Master, are your legs healed now?

Maya asked.

-They are better but they are not healed yet as this was just a low level spell.

It will take another two or three spells to heal me completely and then I will have to learn how to walk again.

The good news is that the next time won't be as painful as the first one as this time most of the damage to my spine was repaired.

Paul said in a cheerful but tired voice.

He depleted almost all of his mana and was now dead tired.

The mana would replenish with time and it would go faster if he cultivated so that was exactly what he had planned to do.

After talking some more with the girls they all returned to the cultivation and soon Paul felt that his mana reserves were being replenished.

When it was time to prepare dinner he had recovered over half of his mana.

and the ladies managed to jump up another level in their cultivation reaching level 16 in the apprentice stage.

Paul still had a hard time believing that he had managed to reach level 50 within a few weeks but it was the reality and if everything went well then his legs would be healed within the next two days.

With that in mind he decided to resume his Qi cultivation as the higher his level in it would be the less time he would spend on restoring his atrophied muscles and tendons.

If he was in a city and had money then this would be easy as all he would need was some recovery pills and he would recover in a short time.

However entering the city was out of the question at least on his level of cultivation and he also had no money to pay the entry fee.

But entering the small settlement was always an option and he didn't need the money for that.

This however would have to wait for him to be able to walk again.

After the meal he crawled to the spot that he had used for cultivation near the river and he restarted his Qi cultivation.

It wasn't long before he reached level 19 as he was already close to it.

After that he focussed on reaching level 20 and before he knew it he had spent several hours cultivating and had reached level 22 ,near to breaking through to level 23 before he stopped and took a cold bath in the river as he could no longer withstand the stench of the impurities that were ejected from his body.

The sensation of the cold water on his lower body wasn't exactly pleasant but for him it was a great thing to be able to feel anything at all.

He returned back to the camp and found out that the ladies used the afternoon to toss out the grass that they used as a bed and were just finishing putting the fresh one inside the shelter.

Another thing that he noticed were the fish that were already roasting slowly over the fire.

In his excitement he had forgotten about the fish traps but it looked like the girls went and reset them after getting their catch out.

-Master, why can't we sense your level in mana and Qi while we can feel each other's levels just fine?

Maya asked during the supper.

This question was bugging her for a long time now.

-Because you can only feel the power level of someone that is lower or at the same level as you.

Paul explained.

He was higher in both Qi and mana so it was only natural that they had no way to sense his cultivation level.

-So if we can't sense someone's level it means that they are stronger than we are?

This time it was Mia who asked the question.

-Not stronger, they just have a higher cultivation level than you or have no cultivation at all as not everyone is a cultivator.

As for being stronger,it depends on how you use your powers in combat and how advanced your skills are,it has little to do with the cultivation levels unless the gap between your levels is quite big.

Paul answered with as much detail as he could.

He actually liked when the girls asked him questions as it meant that they wanted to learn as much as possible when they had the chance.

They discussed other topics as well like what was wrong with his legs since even magic had to be used multiple times to heal them.

Paul explained his situation to them and also that he has to use multiple spells to heal himself because he is too weak.

If his cultivation was at the fourth stage of mana cultivation then he would need to use only one spell and he would be healed instantly as then he would be able to use a fourth tier spell.

-Master than what are the stages of cultivation called and how many are there?

Mia asked as for now she knew only the names of two first stages.

-For Qi cultivation there are:

Body cleansing stage

Bone refinement stage

Muscle and tendon refinement stage

Blood refinement stage

Soul refinement stage

vision refinement stage

Hearing refinement stage

Smell refinement stage

Touch refinement stage

Taste Refinement stage

They are mostly named after their effect on the cultivators body except of the soul refinement stage as this stage does not refine a soul but your internal organs and the name soul refinement sounds a lot better than the internal organs refinement stage.

AS for the Mana they are:

Apprentice stage

Lesser mage stage

Mage stage

Sorcerer stage

Master mage stage

Magus stage

Supreme magus stage

Wizard stage

Supreme wizard stage

Supreme magician stage

There are probably more stages but i don't know what they are called and even if someone managed to reach them.

Paul explained as best as he could since he had forgotten to tell them about the stages when he first told them about cultivation.

Both girls were shocked at this revelation as it meant that there were at least a thousand levels of cultivation that they now knew about and that might not be all of them.

What's more, the amount of power they had to absorb to reach another level always doubled which meant that it would take them many years to reach the peak of those stages.
