The empress looks at Su Ming Xi. I don't know why, but this man seems to be too comfortable talking to my wife. My jaw clenched.
"And that is?" Wu Jinmai asks.
He took a deep breath before he answered her. "This is about the late emperor's verdicts. It looks like he needs to be protected, your highness. He knew something that would be helpful for you," he says. My wife sighed deeply.
"A'Xi, that doesn't answer my question. Would you mind telling me the rest of the details?" she stated. Su Ming Xi bows his head to apologize.
"My apologies, your highness. He told me that your father was aware of the anomalies and corruptions under his reign. He writes those verdicts secretly and places them in the unexpected remonstration office," Su Ming Xi says.
He drinks his wine and continues his report. His gaze—I feel like he's seducing the empress! My jaw clenched.
