Chapter 2 - The Choice

When Shubham switched on his virtual reality glasses, everything around him changed. The visual representation of the game turned into a 3D model so innovative that it gave him an experience as if he was part of the beautiful landscape of a world from five thousand years ago. The vibrant forests, old stone buildings, and the faraway mountains were clear as a bell. A melodious welcome sound filled his ears, thereby engaging with him more in the immersive setting. The portal in front of him instructed him to select the character he wanted to play as.

In the presence of the famous characters, short descriptions of them flashed on the screen:

Krishna: The god, The ultimate power

Arjun: The supreme archer

Bheem: Man with the Power of 1,000 elephants

Yudhishthira: The most honest , just and tolerant one

Sahadeva: known for his wisdom, knowledge of astrology and swordmanship

Nakul: The most handsome one and the horse keeping ability

Bhishma: The grandfather of the Pandavas and the most powerful warrior

Duryodhana: The ambitious and prideful prince

Dushasana: The loyal but ruthless brother

Ashwatthama: The mighty warrior with an unquenchable thirst for vengeance

Karna: The tragic hero with unmatched archery skills

Shakuni: The cunning mastermind behind the Kauravas

Shikhandi: The warrior with a complex past and a destiny intertwined with Bhishma'sand many more characters of the epic Mahabharata

Shubham's face lit up with excitement as he clutched at his heart, "I know all the characters, and I know who I wish to be," he said to himself.

He reviewed the inventory, spending a while in thought. "Is it that okay to choose Draupadi," he inquired. "I've always wanted to be a little girl," he broke out laughing at the absurdity of the thought. "Yeah, I am humorous," he said while laughing at himself. "No, I am sure that I want to be Arjun; the highest warrior. It's the best place to be nearby my best Krishna. I could become his companion, which means not only a devotee amongst, but a real friend—however, it was only a game."
