As Shubham chose Arjun as his character, the game began by narrating the main achievements already of the ancient Bharat Vansh lineage. The story opened with the saga of King Bharat, from whom the dynasty took its name. King Shantanu was a descendent of Bharat Vansh who emerged as a dynamic figure in the rise of the Kuru dynasty era, as the narrative goes on.
King Shantanu, who was famous for his strength and intelligence, got enchanted by the beautiful Ganga's toughness. Her magical look and artistic move so much thrilled him and so he made his statement about marriage. Ganga told him that she would marry him but on one condition: Shantanu had never to question what she would do. Shantanu, unable to think straight due to love, agreed to the terms instantly.
First, a pleasant state of their marriage existed, when Ganga gave birth to their first boy, who was very beautiful. Despite Shantanu's shock, Ganga took her infant to the river and let it drown. Shantanu was still heartbroken but silent, and he was forced to behave as he had pledged. That cruel pattern of events repeated, and Shantanu saw seven more sons meet the same fate.
Shantanu cannot help but keep quiet about his feelings towards his wife who is destroying him with more and more pain. When he saw her take the child and go to the river, he could not take it anymore. Unbearable despair was all over his face and he stepped forth, asking her to spare the infant and finally broke the long silence.
"Ganga, everything is lost. Please, I ask you," he was desperately shaking when saying this.
Ganga turned around to him, expressing sorrow and realization due to the fact of Shantanu breaking his promise quietly. "Shantanu, you have betrayed me," she gently spoke of it. "Still, I understand your suffering. I will not destroy this kid. But, as you have violated your oath to me, I cannot bear being near you any longer."
Shantanu was very sorry when he understood the results of his behavior. "I will not drown this child," Ganga told him, "I will bring him up and send him back to you later when he is ready."
