"Do I even need to be here?" My name's Mckheila Mikasa and I don't think I should be here "But then again, if not here, where should I go?"
This day is so bright and warm when students look ahead toward the entrance gates of the National University. Full of ambition through their eyes like they can actually see their future ahead of them. As Mckheila walks through the crowd of entering students, she can smell the fresh air blowing through them and brush her hair. The long tree-aisle of the road from the gates to the doors of the university is somewhat ten minutes' walk but you can already see the whole building of the University.
"This place looks like a huge church."
When you look to your right you will see a vast field through the gaps of the trees that are lined up beautifully beside the concrete aisle where students may lounge through the open field. It's not too crowded at the moment but there are groups of students minding their own business. Then to the left is an oval track and field, you can see the whole field because the level of the land slopes down from the middle aisle. There may be 3 bodies running through the tracks carrying their good posture. There are also bleachers around the field, raised to 5 tiered rows. Then there's the university building straight ahead, it's somewhat overwhelming how huge the place is but not too intimidating for it is like a huge bare building with lot of floors. Like a huge Lego square lump of bricks with symmetrical windows on every floor, then 3 triangles sitting on top of the Lego where the middle is slightly bigger than the sides. Like the type of buildings that children learned to draw for the first time.
The breeze is refreshing "I guess this place never loses its refreshing breeze because of these tall trees" Mckheila just enjoys the scenery of the new environment she's experiencing. Thinking, that this change of pace in life might not be all bad. Going back to school is a drag for Mckheila after dropping out 6 years ago but at least, it is a step from what had just happened. Experience does not always mean that you are better or wiser than others, it's just a part of a path of life that constantly changes.
Since there is still time for the appointment in the dean's office,
"I hope that this current curriculum might take some of the units I already took years before" After walking halfway through the aisle, Mckheila steps on the grass to the bleachers of the oval.
"I still have time…"
Thinking to absorb the surroundings, Mckheila stops and rests on the second row of an empty bleacher, there are few people around. Some groups of boys actually being loud in the distance but not annoying enough, they're just having a good time.
"I hope, I won't have any problem getting friends in this place. I guess, I really need one right now."
Mckheila wearing her oversized black tint sunglasses with semi-formal attire of black, shoulder-sleeved top, and a beige slacks pants, then equipped with her ever most comfortable plain black, flat, doll shoes, without a care in the world If she's just 5ft tall. As soon as she sat on the bench, she took her phone out from her handbag to find out how long can she wander off before organizing her files in the admins. She placed her handbag over her envelope of files.
"15 more minutes is enough... It might take me around 10 minutes to get there anyway"
As Mckheila enjoys the view and warm surroundings, the group of boys in the distance whose sitting on the grass is getting louder with their giggles, then one of the boys stood up and slaps his butt to wipe the dirt off his pants. He is wearing blue nearly black pants and white sleeved jacket with maroon vest, and white shirt inside of his open jacket. Mckheila already got a sight of him while he walked towards her, Mckheila was wearing sunglasses, so people would not see who she was staring at but she was definitely staring at the guy walking towards her, so even if the guy walked past her, it would not be too awkward.
Mckheila is still staring as she watches the guy getting closer
"Well, this place does have nice views"
But the guy suddenly stops Infront of her with a smile on his face. Mckheila sees the other boys from the distance behind him looking at them giggling, she already knows that they're making fun of her or this guy in front of her, so she raises her head to meet the guy's face. But then he leaned forward to bend down and meet her level, even though Mckheila was on the second row of the bench it was not too high off the ground.
"Hi can I get your name and talk to you for a minute?" the guy asked.
Mckheila tilts her head to the side and is somewhat hesitant to answer, since this is her first day to step into this new life she's trying to commit to, she does not want any immediate trouble.
"So, what's the deal? Are you guys playing or something?"
The guy sat on the first row of the bench facing her before answering, at arms-length they talked while resting his hands on the side of Mckheila and feet on the gap of the bench.
"To be honest, they dared me to get your name and number for 20 dollars, my name's Grei by the way…"
Somewhat humiliated and smiling shyly, the guy brushes his hair up to his nape.
"Hmm... What's in it for me?"
Grei looked back to Mckheila's face seeking to meet her eyes through her sunglasses. A bit dumbfounded.
"...I-I guess, I could give you half of it?"
Mckheila wants to play along as long as it is not trouble. Seeing these boys all getting worked up just for a name and a number, she is too old or experienced to get swayed by this encounter. But it is too much fun to see them get excited. They are not too young for this anyway, at least they have guts for their age, and they all look so cute.
Mckheila scooched exactly to face Grei eye-to-eye, she stepped her feet in the middle of Grei's legs. Grei then put his hands on both sides of Mckheila. Grei is a bit shocked by the gesture Mckheila is making, she then takes off her sunglasses and looks at Grei straight into his eyes. Then she rests her arms on Grei's shoulders while playing with her glasses behind Grei.
"Alright, I'll do it and even give you a peck, if you double those 20 dollars."
Grei is getting speechless he opens his mouth but no words come out.
Mckheila then reached into Grei's back pockets while taking his hands out of the way where she saw his wallet showing, she moved back a little to open his wallet and she saw his university Identification with 25 dollars and change. Mckheila took the 20 dollars and put his wallet back in his pocket.
"Here Gorgie, I'll take these 20 dollars first but you still have to pay me the other 20 alright?"
Mckheila smiles almost a grin for Grei's face is starting to blush then flashed. Mckheila saw his full name Gorgie Bumi. Then Grei just nodded his head and closed his jaw that dropped. Then Grei reached into his front pocket to take out his phone, unlock it, and give it to Mckheila. She took it and rested her arms again on Grei's shoulders. While typing her number behind Grei's head, she then hit call to ring her phone. She added her contact with just her first name. After that, she looked back meeting Grei's eyes, and gave him a peck on the lips. Grei is about to open his mouth and receive more deeper kiss but Mckheila backs away.
"You still owe me, alright?"
Grei nodded and Mckheila returned his phone back, she took a quick glance at the boys behind Grei in the distance who were getting loud from their thrill and excitement due to what they saw. Mckheila put her sunglasses on again, took her bag where she slipped the 20 dollars in, and her envelope of files, she stood up and walked away while Grei was still collecting himself from what happened.
"Hope he does not have a girlfriend and get myself in trouble again. They started it anyway..."
