Teniris grew up in one culture and, for entirely diplomatic reasons that she could not alter, was about to marry into another—a culture she hadn't had much time to understand but would now call her home.
She knew the wedding was grand, even though she hadn't contributed or voiced any opinions about her own ceremony. As her sisters often said:
