Chereads / Crimson Sorcerer / Chapter 2 - chapter:2

Chapter 2 - chapter:2

In his eyes, it was as if all the events were repeating themselves one by one.

The boy took a deep breath and dropped his earlier cheerful demeanor.

His speech was clear and serious. The boy watching the TV, almost glued to the glass, listened to what Letus had to say

The boy, who was paying rapt attention, was careful not to miss a single word.

"A lot about the first level depends on luck. Generally, it shouldn't be overwhelmingly difficult. The situation you are in, the tools at your disposal and the creatures you must defeat should be at least within the range of your abilities. After all, Magic is not a place of execution, it is a place of experimentation. You may be a little disadvantaged or advantaged by your circumstances. But unless you come from the slums, your schooling will help you a lot. Don't give up on yourself yet."

"Ahem. So what you're saying is that it doesn't matter where you come from. We are all equal in the face of magic, right Letus?"

Veronica tried to correct the young man's words after what he had said. But it didn't help much.

"What are you afraid of, Veronica? Even people in the slums know that if they are infected by magic they will die. On the contrary, there are some who defeat the first spell and come back. But there are very few of them. "

Veronica smiled at the screen as Letus reverted to his old way of talking.

It was as if the boy had written this scene in the back of his mind. As the vapor from his mouth steamed up the shop window, she saw the shopkeeper come out in anger.

"Fuck!

The boy quickly moved away from where he was and continued walking calmly after seeing that the danger had passed.

Up ahead, a couple caught his eye.

A tall man with broad shoulders and next to him a thin young woman. They were both holding someone in common. The girl, who could have been about 5 or 6 years old, was laughing merrily.

"Daddy, pick me up again..."

The broad-shouldered man picked up his child and threw her a meter into the air.

"Look dad, I've become a wizard."

"Yes, beautiful, you're going to be a very sweet wizard."

"Like you?"

"Yes."

The boy rushed past the man and a look of disgust crossed his face.

"Bloody lucky stratum!"

The boy went into one of the back alleys and lifted up a large crenellation. The stench filled his nostrils and for a moment he wanted to vomit.

The city was hidden behind high walls, so the boy had used the sewers to get in. Now he had to get out the same way.

He had to do one last thing.

The boy was not sure if it was worth walking through a tunnel full of shit.

'ahhh'

The boy let himself down.

After a few minutes of torture, the boy went upstairs.

He was in the ruins of a ruined building. The city wall blocked the sun from falling on this building.

The boy clapped his hands at his sides.

"Anyway, I won't be here long."

The boy grunted.

He grazed his chest with his hands and saw that black lines had begun to run all over his body. Starting from the side of his heart, the lines were now visible all over his arms. At that moment the voice whispered in his ears once more.

[Magic awaits you....]

The boy knew he did not have much time left.

With slow steps he made his way to the suburbs. People who saw him in this state covered their noses and hurried away. Even for the lowliest people living here, the boy smelled unbearable.

After a while the boy stopped in front of a ruin with two walls.

Covered on one side with a blue tarpaulin was the house where the boy was staying.

"I'm home..."

The boy entered but was greeted by an empty room.

"...."

'Oh right, he's not here anymore. It must have slipped my mind.'

The boy sighed. He wasn't sure how to feel right now. Should he be sad? Or angry? Maybe he should give up?

Fate had always kept a tight grip on him. She never had anything or was never happy. So was there a price for trying?

Now fate was testing her again.

There was only one thing on her mind. That fate would have no mercy on him this time.

The boy sat on the black dust-covered armchair, broken on one side. He reached into his pocket and put the coins from today's shopping on the table.

The boy smiled as a few metal coins bounced on the wooden table.

"These were not easy to get. Now it's just a pile of useless metal."

The boy wanted to laugh at himself.

But the voice echoed in his ears once more.

[Magic awaits you....]

The boy didn't know how much longer he could stay awake. He had left a letter on the table. He had no idea why he had written it, but he thought that whoever found it might read it and remember him. At least he would know his name. The first person to be drawn into the world of magic disappeared without a trace.

The marks on the body before that would explain it, but the boy had never told anyone about it.

'Maybe I should have visited my mother's grave one last time.'

He thought to himself.

"I should have told her that I had broken my promise to her. Anyway, I'll be with her soon. I'll tell her myself."

The boy closed his eyes and prepared to immerse himself in the eternal darkness.

He could no longer delay the situation any longer.

The boy felt no pain as his body turned into tiny specks of dust. It was as if he was being pulled to another place.

The boy looked at his disappearing hands, a deep fear gripping him. Then he closed his eyes...

[Magic welcomes you. Vayne, who is being tested...]

[Welcome to magic.]
