Emma's mind reeled as Jack pulled her away from Sarah. "Who is she?" Emma asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jack's jaw clenched. "Someone from my past. Someone I thought I could trust."
As they walked, Emma realized that Jack's world was full of secrets and lies. She wasn't sure who to trust anymore.
"You're not going to tell me what's going on, are you?" Emma asked, feeling a surge of frustration.
Jack's eyes locked on hers. "I'm trying to protect you, Emma. That's all."
But Emma wasn't convinced. She knew Jack was hiding something, and she was determined to find out what.
As they turned a corner, Emma saw a glimmer of hope. A small café, tucked away from the bustling streets. "Let's go in there," she said, pulling Jack towards the door.
Inside, the café was warm and cozy, filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Emma slid into a booth, Jack beside her.
But as they sat there, Emma couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. She glanced around, her eyes scanning the café.
And then she saw him. A man, sitting in the corner, his eyes fixed on Jack.
