Chapter 19 - Hundredfold

'So far... this is what I've gained from this visit.' Leonard looked at the different hovering screens before him, each displaying various pages of his status board, as he sat on his bed at the inn.

[Sly Man]

[Description: A title deserved by cunning Players inside the tower. +30% Persuasion]

'As if I would need this,' Leonard thought, pausing as he stared at the screen. 'At least it's something I can use in the future.'

Waving his hands, he navigated through the screens until his attention was caught by a particular slide about his subclass. There was something in the tiny text that he must have overlooked earlier.

Noticing it at the very end of the description, he squinted his eyes and read it more carefully than before.

[Godly Summoner (Nomad Grandmaster)]

[Description: You are a Summoner with a variety of types to summon. You became a nomad to find more sacred summoning scrolls, to summon the gods and goddesses of other worlds. However, you will face a huge drawback (x100 Experience Points Requirements).]

[At least the advantage is x100 to your current Magic Points.]

'What the hell...' Thrill slowly built up inside him as a wide smile appeared on his face. 'A 100 times multiplier?!'

As the reality of the rewards sank in, different scenarios played out in his head. The benefit was so great that his current situation didn't seem so bad after all.

'Hohoho...' He contained his excitement, considering all the ways this would benefit him on his journey. 'I don't have to worry about leveling up right now. If this is the case, then I could at least just enroll at the Player Academy, right?'

He let his body fall onto the soft yet still firm mattress of his bed. The smile remained on his face, but this time, it wasn't just pure excitement—it was the joy of savoring life.

'Life isn't that bad. I thought my luck was just cursed.'

Leonard summoned Zeus, though this time the lightning bolt was so minimal it didn't even register as noticeable.

"Why are you smiling like that?" Zeus asked, noticing Leonard's grin. "Did you just lose your mind?" He sighed. "I understand. I know you didn't like what you got from the huge black box. But you still have your life. Hold on just a bit longer. I still want to explore this world."

Leonard's eyes fell on Zeus as he spoke, "You'll have more time to explore this world." His tone was light, almost teasing, making Zeus furrow his brows.

"You seem tired. Do you want to die? I can grant that wish if you'd like," Zeus replied, his voice tinged with mock concern.

Leonard shot up, startling Zeus. "You don't understand," he laughed. "I just received a hundredfold increase to my magic points."

Confusion was evident on Zeus's face. He grasped some of what Leonard was saying, but the sheer possibility of it perplexed him.

"Is that even possible?"

Earlier, after Zeus had dropped Leonard at the entrance, he had gone back to their library to study more about the gaming system. He learned about certain rewards, including the possibility of acquiring a subclass at specific levels—typically at levels 10 and 30. While acquiring a subclass at higher levels was rare, it wasn't impossible.

"It is! The Black Box gave me 30,000 experience points, and I acquired a summoner subclass called ."

Zeus nodded. "Alright, I'm following. Go on."

"While it might seem similar to my , and , this subclass multiplies my experience points threshold by a hundred, but it comes with a bonus. My magic points are also multiplied, which is a huge relief!"

As Zeus fully grasped the implications, a grin spread across his face, mirroring Leonard's. Both of them wore expressions that would have unsettled anyone who saw them—like those creepy old men with dubious intentions. But in this case, their excitement was purely about their newfound power.

"You can summon me longer! You can summon me longer! You can summon me longer!" Overjoyed, Zeus couldn't help but hop around like a child who had just received a long-awaited gift.

Leonard, surprised by Zeus's exuberance, realized he might have underestimated the potential of this world.

Snorting, Leonard said, "You're really not the Zeus I know. Are you sure you're the real Zeus, or are you just messing with me?"

Zeus halted, straightened his posture, and retorted, "The old Zeus is gone. Now that I can stay longer, I'll show this world who Zeus truly is. They will revere and worship me. To make that happen, I must return to my former glory. My world won't be Earth anymore—it'll be this one!"

Leonard couldn't muster much of a reaction to Zeus's proclamation. It wasn't surprising, but he couldn't feel any excitement toward it either. It was like hearing a child declare their intention to become a hero—ambitious, but hard to take seriously.

'This will leave an odd aftertaste for anyone who learns about Zeus's different side. Of course, that includes me.'

Meanwhile, in a hidden area on the first floor of the tower, the group Leonard had spared earlier was now cornered by a young man with his face obscured by a hood. Despite the concealment, an unsettling aura radiated from him, sending chills down the spines of the five men before him.

The leader of the group remained kneeling, while his men were on the ground, barely able to keep their eyes open.

"You still won't tell me who took the ?" The hooded man spoke with a smooth, almost refined voice that contrasted eerily with his appearance and aura.

"I swear, sir, I don't know! The item I got from the White League—they just took it back!" Cowering in fear, the leader lowered his head, pressing his face against the floor near the hooded man's feet.

"And you expect me to believe that they just let you go? Are you that stupid? The White League doesn't spare thieves." He sighed. "Giving you a second chance and trusting you to steal the item was a mistake on my part. Tsk."

The man raised his hand, effortlessly slicing through the leader's neck as if his hand was coated with invisible blades.

The rest of the group couldn't react; their faces remained frozen, eyes brimming with tears.

"I didn't want to use this, but you leave me no choice." The hooded man picked up the severed head, his hands glowing with an ominous purple light as he activated a . "Fucking gross."

Different emotions, sensations, and memories flooded the hooded man's mind, his face contorting in disgust. He focused on the recent memories, suppressing the nausea. Once he had the information he needed, he ended the and dropped the head.

"Tsk. You were fooled by a kid? That kid wasn't even part of the White League."
