Someone snapped their fingers in front of Meliora's eyes, bringing her back to reality. Everything that had happened—from the dance to the bedroom—was all her imagination. Kaid was still standing in front of her with his hand extended awkwardly.
People were wondering why he was so patient, standing there while she drifted off into another world. Meliora breathed a sigh of relief, realizing it was just her imagination.
Kaid would never pull her into his room. She was sure he was too proud for that.
"Oh, sorry," Meliora quickly groaned as she placed her hand in his. Kaid gave her a smile, showing that he wasn't angry at all.
Kaid pulled her in and twirled her around. Unlike what had happened in her imagination, he was colder and finished the dance before Meliora could even say any demeaning words to him.
Meliora knew something was wrong for there to be such a change in his mood. She wanted to ask but he left the hall quickly after the dance.
