Elijah stumbled while looking around. She scratched her head in frustration, her big eyes showing her unfamiliarity with her current surroundings.
The place was beautiful, almost like paradise. Was she in heaven? If she had known heaven was this beautiful, she would have died a long time ago. Not like in the Philippines, on earth where all you see are plastic people. It's a good thing they don't melt in the heat from the sun. Tsk.
"How are you, miss? I am glad to finally see you up close. You truly possess a unique beauty, but you act in a peculiar way. Hahaha."
Elijah looked around nervously, trying to locate the source of the voice. Goodness, even in heaven, there are ghosts. Was she scared of ghosts, especially if they were too ugly? It would be better if they were handsome nor pretty.
"Whoever you are, ghost, come out. Just make sure your face is beautiful. If you're ugly, it's okay, just hide there quietly."
The ghost called by Elijah laughed loudly, making her scratch her head.
"Crazy ghost. What a weirdo. Oh well, come out. But clean up your body and face first. You might end up like the ghosts on Earth with bloodstains. Disgusting."
"EEKKKKK!! BIG CRUSH'S PRIVATE PART IS DELICIOUS TO SUCK!"
The beautiful woman burst into laughter due to Elijah's shouted statement. She was standing next to a slender woman, also pretty but not as beautiful as the woman with the crazy laughter.
Elijah furrowed her brow. She shook her head.
"You're laughing so much. Are you happy now? Tsk. You annoy me. Why are you scaring me? Do you think it's funny? Do you want a punch? You're lucky you're pretty, if not, I wouldn't hesitate to punch that beautiful and smooth face of yours."
Elijah couldn't understand why the woman next to her was staring at her like she had seen the ugliest ghost in the universe. Tsk.
"Why are you looking at me like that? You look like you've seen the ugliest ghost in the universe."
Annoyed, she said to the lady. She shook her head and blinked several times.
"Do you know the lady you insulted?"
Elijah looked at the crazy laughing woman who was still having her moment. When will her laughter end? She was getting annoyed by her laughter.
"I don't even know her, who is she? Tsk. She looks like a crazy person. Gzz, such a waste of her beauty."
She shook her head again. The lady who introduced herself as the goddess of life. Goddess, goddess. So what? She seemed more suited to the title Goddess of the Crazy.
"Goddess of life? Tsk. Maybe it should be Goddess of the Crazy instead."
The lady who claimed to be the goddess slapped her own head. She felt like she would age prematurely.
"Hahahha, enough. You're making me laugh so much. By the way, I'm Goddess Life, the most beautiful goddess alive in this world. And she is Nightmare Jinx Croix, the owner of the body that will go to you, forever."
Elijah furrowed her brow. What? She couldn't understand what the supposed goddess of the crazy was saying.
"It seems you're confused, here's how it goes. This woman next to me is my apprentice. I made a mistake in placing your souls. I assigned her a mission, but instead of putting her in the body of a human in the world, I placed her in your body since you were a baby in the world of wizards. Sigh, I'm sorry, I'm not perfect, all gods make mistakes.
And your soul was transferred to the body of a baby in the human world, which was supposed to be the destination for the soul of my apprentice. Forgive me, but now, I have the opportunity to correct my mistake.
Therefore, you will return to your true body. While my apprentice will stay here with me. I need her more here."
Elijah was confused, her brow furrowed, but a question was swirling in her mind.
"What about my body in the world of humans? And why do you call it the world of humans? What is the difference between the world of humans and the world of wizards? You confuse me. I feel like giving you a good telling off."
The goddess laughed again. She really found Elijah amusing.
"Your body in the world of humans is already lifeless. In fact, you are about to be buried. So, stop asking too many questions. Follow Night, she will take care of you. She will also explain everything, she will also teach you what you need to learn. We need to act quickly because time is running out. We have no time."
"You need to learn what you need to learn because the body my apprentice is using is close to death. Such a fool, doing all sorts of things. How embarrassing. Hahahaha. So when you wake up, don't be surprised if wizards around you look at you strangely. My apprentice has caused a lot of embarrassment. Just bear with it. Pfft. Good luck."
The goddess of the crazy suddenly disappeared. Night scratched her head.
"Well, what now? Are you just going to stand there?"
Night became even more nervous, unsure of where to start.
"Oh well. You figure it out. By the way, can I pick some grapes there? I'm hungry? Is it allowed? Okay, I'll go ahead. Bye."
Night scratched her head because of what Elijah did. Before she could even reply, she left and went to the grapevine of the goddess of life. She was nervous, knowing she would be in trouble with the goddess once she found out that her guest had eaten her grape plants.
Night followed Elijah. She had no choice but to release a heavy sigh.
"You know, living as Nightmare Jinx Croix in the world of wizards, all I ever felt was envy, bitterness, anger, and resentment towards people close to me.
I have three siblings. First is my brother, Angel Jin Croix, the next king of the Center, the king's favorite child. Next is my brother, Belight Jed Croix, the favorite grandchild of my grandparents, and the youngest is my sister, Hope Jane Croix, the queen's favorite daughter, while I, Nightmare Jinx Croix, just pass by like the wind. Maybe needed but never valued.
In the kingdom or at school, I am of no use. Everyone around me dislikes me. So I found a way to stand out. I think I've done every humiliation possible. All out of anger, envy, and excessive resentment.
Even the man I loved deeply chose my sister over me. Everything always goes to her. I'm the youngest, but it doesn't feel like it. She is always the one noticed, praised, and boasted about. She is protected and treated like a princess.
What about me? I'm also their child. I'm the youngest, I need attention too. So, I did something that almost cost me my life.
Out of the desire to be noticed, I attempted to kill my sister, Hope. No one knows that I was the one who tried to kill her. When I escaped after the failed attempt, I was caught. The king, our father, was furious, so... So, I tried to take my own life.
Then the goddess appeared. She explained everything to me. I am full of regret because, because of me, your return to your true body will be filled with suffering. Forgive me. I beg for forgiveness."
Elijah just listened, her mouth full of grapes. She could only grimace. The woman in front of her was so dramatic. Night blinked rapidly because it seemed that the woman in front of her didn't care about what she was confessing.
"D... Do you h... have anything to say?"
Elijah just shrugged and continued eating. Night blinked rapidly.
"After learning what I will teach you, you can return to your true body. You will wake up as Nightmare Jinx Croix. The least favored child of the King of the Center. Are you ready to learn what you need to learn?"
Elijah didn't respond. She just kept eating but she was listening. It would be a waste of Night's saliva if she didn't listen. She really dramatized everything. She kept eating. She only ate grapes, but something caught her eye.
"Is that tree full of apples?"
Night nodded, immediately regretting her response. Elijah let go of the grapes she was holding and happily ran towards the apple tree. She picked an apple and took a bite. If she didn't like the sweetness, she would throw it away after just one bite.
Night's face almost turned white with blood draining from it.
"The goddess of life will kill me. She will surely punish me severely. Why is this girl so gluttonous? She has eaten so many grapes and she's still hungry? Unbelievable, and then she just takes a bite of the apple and throws it away. Unbelievable, what kind of stomach and shamelessness does this woman have?"
Those were just Night's thoughts. Finally, Elijah finished—or so she thought.
"That's a watermelon, right? I can't be wrong, it's a watermelon. Wahahaha. I'll stay here. I don't care about the body you're talking about. Kyaaaaa!!!"
Night couldn't believe it. She was relieved that Elijah finally finished eating.
Night's eyes widened as Elijah ran towards the watermelon patch without hesitation. Elijah picked the biggest watermelon she could find. She split it in the middle by slamming it against a large rock.
Without any hesitation, she devoured the watermelon. She practically buried her face in it. Her nose even had watermelon seeds.
Night just scratched her head. She felt like she was going to catch a cold.
She approached the young woman. She wanted to say what she needed to say before she died of embarrassment.
"Before you continue devouring that, I just wanted to ask a favor from you. After I teach you what you need to learn, can you do me the favor I will ask of you? Can you please watch over and ensure the safety of our parents? I know I don't have the right to call them our parents, but it's what I've grown accustomed to, so please, please protect them because I know deep inside that you are stronger than me.
Elijah just nodded, but it was obvious she wasn't listening as she was busy eating the watermelon.
"Yow twalk ho mowtch. You hab so much dwama in wife. Tan yow just ve wayet? I tan't fotus on my fowd betuase of yow noys. [You talk too much. You have so much drama in life. Can you just be quiet? I can't focus on my food because of your noise.]
Night scratched her head while grimacing. As she spoke, watermelon juice splattered around while she was eating the watermelon. Her mouth was full, so she couldn't quite understand what Elijah was saying.
She placed her palm on her forehead. She also massaged her temples. She felt like she was facing a child.
She would admit that she was disgusted by the way the child in front of her was eating. Yes, a child, because she ate like a child who enjoyed her food.
After she finished eating, she rubbed her stomach. There was a smile on her lips. Her once clean and full face was now covered with watermelon remnants. Night breathed a sigh of relief, thinking it was over, but she was wrong. Elijah stood up again.
With trepidation, Night followed her. She was nervous. She was certain that the goddess of life would truly punish her because of what Elijah was doing.
They both reached the Valley of Beauty. Instead of ordinary water, milk flowed in the valley. The lake at the bottom of the valley was filled with enticing milk. Elijah's eyes sparkled, while Night swallowed hard.
From the expression on Elijah's face that she saw, she knew, she knew that she would really be punished by the goddess of life. She was helpless as Elijah suddenly jumped into the Valley of Beauty. She bathed and swam in the milk lake. She also approached the cascading water of the valley, cupped her hands, turned them into a cup, and scooped up the milk. She drank until she was satisfied. She swam as much as she pleased.
"Dear goddess of life, what have I done to experience this? Why did you leave so soon? Huhuhu, is this the price for the humiliations I have caused while still alive in the world of wizards using this woman's body? If so, why does it seem so harsh? Dear goddess, please come back before she finishes all your crops and creations!"
Night could only cry on the side as she waited for Elijah to finish her bath in the Valley of Beauty. When Elijah finally had hee fill and surfaced, Night expressed her gratitude that the young lady finally thought to resurface. She had been soaking in the water for almost half an hour.
"Do you have any clothes I can wear? Lend them to me, including your panties and bra. Unused ones, of course. You might be sick later, and you might infect me or have a smelly lady part. It's risky."
Night gave Elijah a disapproving look, feeling exasperated. She uttered words that sounded strange to Elijah's ears. Afterwards, Elijah was wearing a different outfit. She was now dressed in a white off-shoulder dress with no design. Oh my goodness.
"Hey, what's this? Why a dress? So girly, change it. Ripped jeans and an oversized black t-shirt. Hurry up. What is this? So slow."
"AURGHHHHHH!!!!!! SO ANNOYING!!!"
Night said as tears welled up in her eyes. Elijah closed her eyes while covering her ears with both hands. The woman in front of her had a voice that was louder than swallowing a microphone.
"Oh my goodness, what did you swallow? A mic or a megaphone? Or maybe both. Tsk. You're so noisy!"
Night stomped off, walking away. She didn't care anymore. Whatever. She was really annoyed. She felt like her white hairs would start sprouting if she stayed longer with that woman.
"HEY!! WHERE ARE YOU GOING? CHANGE MY OUTFIT FIRST. YOU HAVE NO TASTE. TSK. HEY!! COME BACK!! HEY?!"
Night didn't pay attention to her. She quickly left out of frustration. Elijah just scratched her head. What's the problem with that woman, tsk. Her taste is so bad. A dress, seriously? A dress? It doesn't suit her handsome face.
She looked at her outfit. Sigh. She just pulled on her hair. She couldn't do anything about it. She didn't know where to find a replacement. Oh well. She wandered around. She saw a rambutan tree, so she ate some, and then some lanzones. She just left the peels lying around. She planned to annoy the goddess of craziness. She chuckled in her mind at the thought. What would that woman's face look like when she sees her mess.
"Maybe I should just stay here? This place is great. Lots of food. Wahahaha. Wait, dang it, is that a house made of cake and a tree made of chocolate? Wow!!! Oh my, wahahaha, you're in trouble. I'll devour you!"
Elijah approached the cake house and grabbed it. She didn't care where the woman named Nightmare had gone. Who would name their child Nightmare, gzz, what kind of brains do they have.
The names of the first three children are beautiful, and then there's the youngest, Nightmare Jinx, sigh. The meaning is negative.
On the other hand, Night was in tears, calling out to the goddess.
"What are you doing, N. You're so noisy. Why are you calling me!"
Tearfully, Night pointed to where Elijah was. The goddess walked to Elijah's location. Tearfully, Night followed her.
When they arrived, the goddess was almost struck in the heart. Her beautiful home that she worked hard to build had damaged walls. The beautiful tree that she carefully sculpted using chocolate had fallen, with the culprit having a face covered in chocolate.
Her hands were covered in chocolate. The white beast was now covered in crumbs. The goddess cried out, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!???"
The goddess's scream caught Elijah's attention. She furrowed her brow briefly before returning her focus to eating the chocolate.
"Not only that, dear goddess. Look at your fruit trees."
As Night suggested, she looked and visited her fruit trees. From the rambutan, lanzones, apples, oranges, to watermelon.
She was in tears from frustration. The mess and peels were just left beside the trees. She was crying so much. Her precious fruit trees were ruined all because of a woman.
"The Valley of Beauty, dear goddess."
Upon hearing Night's words, the goddess became alarmed. She hurriedly ran towards it. The Valley of Beauty, gzzzzzz.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Elijah could clearly hear the furious scream of the goddess of the crazies. She was laughing uncontrollably while licking her fingers covered in chocolate.
"Dasurb, wahahahhaha!!!"
"Finally, it's over. You can now leave my place. Don't ever come back here again."
Those were the only words spoken by the goddess of the crazies. She suddenly disappeared after saying that. Elijah would be laughing gleefully.
"Close your eyes. When you open them again, you will wake up in your body. Go on, you're giving me a headache. Please don't come back, huhuhu... I got scolded by the goddess because of you. I didn't do anything wrong, you're the one who ate her crops, but I was the one scolded. You're annoying, I hope I never see you again. Huhu."
Elijah just chuckled. She had spent almost a month in the goddess's place. During that month, all she did was annoy her and eat her crops. Hahahaha.
She also learned many things, like how to use powers.
She was about to close her eyes.
"What?"
Night stopped her.
"Please take care of our parents, your parents. Please, I'm begging you."
Elijah rolled her eyes. It was like a broken record. She didn't pay attention to it and just closed her eyes. When she opened them, she suddenly woke up.
"You're awake, that's good."
The person in front of her spoke calmly. In her perception, this was Night's father. It didn't make her comfortable.
"Oh no, I'm still sleeping. That's why my eyes are open."
She sarcastically remarked. The emperor's eyes widened. What happened to her daughter for her to act like that.
"Where is your manners, young lady? You don't talk like that to your own father. You ungrateful child!"
The king was angry. It was evident in every sharp word he spoke. He was even shouting, so he wasn't surprised when the door of her room opened and what she assumed to be her mother and siblings entered. The two men looked at her with contempt, while the woman smiled at her. She seemed kind, judging by her smile.
"So you're awake, I wish you hadn't woken up. How dare you, are you that desperate to attempt on the life of your own sibling, your sister. Hah!"
Elijah carefully observed the angry face of the young man speaking. If her guess was correct, this was the eldest, who was he again? Angel? Right, Angel Jin Croix. This fvcker, Angel, had the manners of a demon anyway.
"You know, the name Demon suits you better, Demon You Croix. Doesn't it fit perfectly? Pfttt."
She clapped her hands because she thought her idea was brilliant. Meanwhile, Angel was seething with anger. He was about to speak when Belight spoke first.
"You, all you bring to our family is shame. You have no respect."
Elijah looked at him, Belight Jed Croix. Pfttt...she had an idea.
"The name Bae Lhat Croix suits you better. Pfttt hahahaha damn."
Hope Jane Croix, the third child of the king, and his wife, stepped forward. Bae Lhat is fuming with anger. He was about to slap her when Hope shouted, "What! Brother, she's a woman, she's our sibling. Why would you hurt her? Hah!"
Elijah furrowed her brow at Hope's words. Tsk. Seriously? This family drama was too much. She turned her gaze to the two pairs of eyes that had been staring at her earlier. She ignored the three siblings who were arguing.
"If I were ice, I would've melted a long time ago because of the intensity of your stare."
His father, Emperor Light Croix, didn't acknowledge him.
"Why did you attempt on your sibling's life?"
The three stopped their argument as the emperor spoke. All attention was on her. Elijah just rolled her eyes before standing up from where she was lying. Instead of answering them, she bypassed them. She walked out and searched for the kitchen. She wanted to eat. She was hungry. She ignored the calling of her name. They shouted Nightmare Jinx, but that wasn't her name. Her name was Elijah, Elijah Maurer. Tsk. Crazy people.
As she walked down the hallway, many eyes followed her every move. The bees were starting to buzz as well. Tsk. Hee vision was starting to darken. They were so loud. It irritated her. Her pace slowed down.
"She's still alive. Tsk. How audacious of her, was she so envious of Princess Hope that she tried to kill her."
"You're right, her behavior is unbearable. She's unnoticeable."
"Lacks attention. Pity."
"Why is she even here? Tsk. Her face is annoying."
"I'm furious because of her attempt to kill Princess Hope. How audacious of her, after all the kindness our princess has shown, she still tried to take her life."
"You're right. Ungrateful. Our princess always defends her, yet she has no gratitude."
"That's the effect of lacking attention."
"You said it, she's pitiful. Hmp. I'm annoyed with her."
"You're not the only one annoyed with her. Almost all of us here are. It's because she craves attention so much that she'll do anything just to be noticed."
"You're right, even the lover of our princess, she tried to steal him."
"She's flirtatious. It's a good thing she got into trouble. I wish she hadn't woken up."
With the harsh words of the kingdom's servants and his hunger, Elijah didn't know if she could control herself any longer.
She grinned. Everyone saw her smile. They all got chills.
"Did you see her smile? It's terrifying."
"Why am I getting goosebumps? I'm nervous for reasons I can't fathom."
"Me too, I'm getting goosebumps."
Different discussions were halted as the cold and emotionless voice echoed through the hallway of the kingdom.
"WHAT IS YOUR POSITION IN THE KINGDOM?"
No one answered, so she glared at all the servants.
"Why are you all so quiet? Weren't you just gossiping a while ago? Where is your courage? Five seconds. Just five seconds. If you don't answer my question, I will be forced to kill this early in the morning."
The kingdom's servants were almost scared to the point of urinating. They didn't even notice the presence of the emperor and empress, as well as the two princes and a princess. Even they felt chills. Princess Hope felt a chill run down her spine, causing her to tighten her grip on her arm.
"One
Two
Three
Four
Fi---"
Elijah didn't finish her countdown as the servants answered in unison.
"KINGDOM'S SERVANT PRINCESS NIGHTMARE."
Elijah nodded. Why do they call her Nightmare? Crazy. Her name is Elijah, not Nightmare. Tsk. "Nightmare" sounds cool, but she prefers Elijah. It sounds handsome.
"Good thing you still know your positions here. Applause."
Applauding, Elijah continued walking. Unbothered by the gazes fixed on her, she finally found the kitchen and rummaged through for something to eat.
Some of the servants approached to offer their help in cooking for her, but she just waved them away.
She cooked an omelet and devoured it. She didn't even notice that the emperor and empress, along with his three siblings, were following her with puzzled expressions. They were confused by their sibling's behavior.
"What's with you?"
Unable to hold back any longer, Belight asked, furrowing his brow. He pushed aside his anger towards Nightmare, his youngest sibling, as his confusion prevailed.
Elijah swallowed her food first. She didn't want to be accused of lacking table manners. She also wiped the corners of her lips with a table napkin. She avoided using her hands because she didn't want to appear clueless about table manners. She might end up being insulted by the two gorillas. She might not be able to control herself and end up strangling them.
"Why don't you have a sit and eat with me. Don't yah worry, I'm good at cooking. What I cook is edible and it's Omelet, unless you don't know."
Instead of being pleased, Belight's gaze towards Elijah worsened. Elijah furrowed her brow.
"What? I'm offering and you still have that angry look. Seriously? What's with you and your attitude. So ungrateful."
She once again picked up her fork and knife, continuing to eat. She ignored that Bae Lhat. Such a noisy mouth. Tsk.
"You know what, Bae Lhat. You are so damn noisy. Can't you see that I'm eating? If you have nothing good to say, it's much better if you shut up. Tsk. Gzz I lost my appetite because of you. You're annoying."
Belight slammed the table. The force of her slam caused the plate of omelet to jump. Hee eyes widened. Fortunately, she acted quickly and caught the plate before it fell. The glass table was damaged.
"Almost fell. Good thing I reacted fast."
Belight couldn't believe it as he looked at Nightmare. He couldn't believe that she was more concerned about the food.
"Look, you broke the table. What a waste, it looked expensive. You're in trouble. Pftt, my gosh, Bae Lhat. Your temper is so hot in the morning."
Belight was about to approach Elijah to strangle him, but he was stopped by Angel.
"Wow, everyone is here. And thank you, Demon You, for stopping Bae Lhat. He almost choked me. He might leave a mark on my smooth neck. That would be hard."
Elijah wanted to laugh because she could see that Belight was so annoyed with her, but she didn't care. She was enjoying what she was doing.
"Let go of me, brother. I'll strangle that woman."
"ENOUGH!!"
Belight paused when their mother shouted. He stared intensely at Nightmare, feeling as if he was facing a different person.
"Stop messing around, Nightmare, answer our question. Why did you try to kill your sister? She's good to you, and she always protects you. Why did you try to harm her? Why!?"
Elijah closed her eyes. Why do they always raise their voices? They could say it calmly. The noise was really giving him a headache.
"Are you okay, Night? Why are you closing your eyes? Do you feel unwell? Should I call a doctor?"
Concerned, Hope moved to touch her, but she was pulled away by Angel and Belight.
"What's wrong? Let go of me."
"Are you losing your mind? She's just putting on an act. She probably has another scheme in mind. Don't act all saintly. Use your brain. She might end up harming you." - Angel
"Kuya's right, baby girl. Who knows what that person might do to you." - Belight
Elijah closed her eyes. Her patience was wearing thin.
The three fell silent, feeling the cold atmosphere. Angel, next in line to the throne, couldn't believe it—he was the future ruler and should have no fear, yet his body reacted with goosebumps. Belight was at a loss for words, simply swallowing. Hope hugged herself, while the empress and emperor watched their youngest child silently. They were confused and unsure of what had transpired.
When she attempted to take her own life, they were fortunate to have intervened and saved her, but now that she was awake, the change was significant. Was her mind affected? Unclear. Maybe she just got lost in thought. It was like she had taken a dive into a pool, losing all her memories, which explained her behavior as if she were a different person.
"Noisy."
She was about to leave when the emperor uttered words.
"What's going on with you? Why are you acting like that? This is so unlike you. Are you planning something wicked again? I'm warning you, the next time you pull a stunt like that, I'll throw you out of my kingdom."
Elijah met his gaze, eye to eye.
"If you can."
Her challenging words dropped like a bombshell, causing the empress and her three siblings to flinch, while the emperor was left speechless in her mind.
"They are all nothing but a bunch of useless idiots. Where the heck is my room? This is so frustrating."
Elijah cursed repeatedly in her mind. She didn't know where her room was. Night, not telling her where her room was, was frustrating. She also erased her memories of the palace's layout. It was supposedly payment for the chaos she caused in the goddess's place.
"Hey, you."
The clumsy servant immediately approached her. Elijah closed her eyes tightly as the servant almost tripped while hurrying over to her. She was getting increasingly irritated.
"Do you know where my room is? I kinda forgot where it is placed."
She nodded and accompanied Elijah to her room. As they made their way, the servant kept her head bowed. Elijah scratched her head. She wouldn't be surprised if the servant tripped. After all, she were looking down and not at the path. Just as she suspected, the servant stumbled. Irritated, she sighed deeply and helped her up. She felt sorry for the servant, who might cry and be teased for crying like a child. Yes, like a child. The servant seemed to be in her early twenties, while Elijah, back on Earth, was already 23. Wasn't she older?
"You should keep your eyes on the path, not on your feet. So clumsy."
As she assisted the servant, she gazed at her face. She had a gentle face, a straight nose, slightly flushed lips, smooth cheeks, long eyelashes, cat-like eyes, beautiful arching eyebrows, and the slightly messy hair suited them well. Nice touch.
"What's your name?"
Elijah cursed in her mind, taken aback by the gentle tone she used to ask for the servant's name. When did she learn to ask so sweetly? She was always brash. Heck, just by seeing someone pretty, her attitude vanished. Her eyes widened as she realized her hand was gently touching the servant's face.
It didn't suit her to be a servant. She was too beautiful to be just a servant. She smirked mischievously as she noticed the blush on the girl's cheeks.
"Why aren't you answering my question, hmm?"
She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, making her avert her gaze.
"I-I'm C-Crystal, a-a n-new servant h-here."
Crystal stuttered, causing Elijah some displeasure.
"Why did you stutter? Am I that intimidating? Don't worry, I won't harm you, so relax."
Crystal swallowed a few times and nodded. When they reached her room, she invited her in. At first, she hesitated, but due to her insistence, she had no choice but to enter.
She quickly headed to her walk-in closet and saw nothing but expensive dresses. A sudden headache hit Elijah.
"Crystal, from now on, you are my assistant and personal maid. Take all the dresses in the walk-in closet and dispose of them. Make sure I never see them again."
She laid down on her soft bed, different from the room she woke up in earlier.
"But those are expensive and u—new."
Elijah closed her eyes tightly as Crystal stuttered again. She let out a sigh and sat up from her lying position.
"Such a waste. Take everything there, they're now yours. They'll surely suit you."
Elijah smiled as she saw Crystal smile. She truly looked like an angel. Once she's all dressed up, many will be captivated by her beauty.
As Crystal left with the expensive dresses, Elijah was about to lie down again when there was a knock on his door, and without waiting for a response, someone entered.
Elijah gave a brief glance at the two "gorillas," who were none other than Angel and Belight.
"Answer our question. Why did you attempt to kill Hope? Are you that desperate to claim her position?"
Elijah rose in annoyance. She was running out of patience. They had been asking the same question since earlier. Weren't they tired of it?
"Leave, leave my room before I lose my temper."
Despite feeling uneasy, Belight disregarded it. Angel also sensed that something unpleasant might happen if they didn't leave. Before Belight could speak again, Angel pulled him out of the room.
"What the hell, bro! Why did you drag me out? I'm still talking to that brat."
"Just shut it and let's leave. Let's talk to her another time."
Reluctantly, he followed his brother out, while Elijah simply shook his head.
"Cowards."
